I can tell you put a lot of work in to making the pattern to fit so many sizes and that is much appreciated. This mask is easy to make and very comfortable. Thanks!
Made a lot of 3D masks. Think this is great with all the different sizes. I wanted a nose wire, pocket and elastic was an issue with family saying it made their ears stick out 😂 so I put nose wire in after top stitch and before folding. I cut main piece and lining the same size and an extra piece same height and shorter in width hemmed each side for the pocket and instead of folding elastic casing I turned it in half an inch, inserted 2 tabs each side and put rounded elastic with slip knots on tabs each side. Now they can sort out how long they need it. Perfect 👌
@@deiongreen3042 No sorry I don't do videos, just learning all the many techniques and trying to make the perfect mask. I absolutely hate wearing them, find them hot, hard to breathe but we have to wear. It's all made worse as I had pneumonia before Christmas, have COPD and asthma. There are many tutorials where they add a nose wire. For this pattern after cutting out the 2 pieces of fabric it is sewn then turned right side out and top stitched. On the top where your nose is I sewed a box round the nose wire but if you are not confident sew a box leaving one end open then you can slide nose wire in after about 3/4" down 4" wide. Once the mask is made you cannot get to the wire. There is a mask I tried, wasn't keen on it as it didn't fit my face so well but the nosewire technique was genious. You can take the nose wire out for washing or replacing. Type in DIY 3D Face Mask 3 Layers . The video is by AON Easy DIY (It's a navy flowery mask) and you just sew your 2 or 3 layer mask and on the nose leave a few stitches then carry on stitching and when you turn right way out then do your top stitching a bit lower down you have the pocket for the wire. Hope that helps. xxx
@@deiongreen3042 i think it would be difficult to add a nose wire to this pattern as it's not straight across...at least with the aluminum nose bridge pieces I've gotten off Amazon. Actual wire would bend okay, but that's not comfy. i've been using, and much prefer, the nose bridge pieces as they're made for this application and easier than crimping the wire ends to keep it from poking through the fabric.I have made many 3D masks to donate, but haven't used this pattern yet or any with the scalloped part for the nose/eyes. I want to try this pattern though, and if i figure out how to add the nose bridge pieces that I'm using, I may just do a video tutorial.
@Barbara Sampson I have! I had some white plastic coated nose wires I’d gotten from Amazon awhile back. They are very similar to the plastic coated wires that are on coffee bean/ground bags, just thinner. They’re like 4” x 1/8” and have a thin wire at the top and bottom (2 wires). I easily cut down the middle between the wires. This keeps both wires still coated with plastic. Cutting like this allows the wire to confirm as well as gives you two pieces from the 1. I suppose you could now slide both in if worried about just the one holding up. For this pattern...I mark the middle of the wire. Lay it on the mask and put a small mark on the lining a 1/16 of an inch or so on the outside of each wire end. This is the line I use to sew each end of a 3 sided box around the nose wire. 3 sides of new sewing since the box will nestle up to the top seam of the mask. After turning right side out and before sewing up the opening on the ends, I sew 2 of the 3 sides and then slide the wire into the “box/casing” I just made. After wire is in, I sew the last side (Perpindicular to top and bottom of mask) to close the wire in. You can do this before or after you topstitch. Just allow room for top stitching in case you do that after, otherwise you might hit the wire with the needle. Works beautifully! I wish I could attach a photo as I’m guessing visual learners will have difficulty making sense of my my instructions!
I just want to thank you for this tutorial! I have made my whole family this mask. They work as essential workers. So they need a new clean for everyday of the week. So I have at lest 50 of them.

peonyinlove thank you! I was thinking that the elastic casing was very little & may need more on the sides to make that wider. What size do you make for ladies or yourself?
Just made medium size for myself; will try larger size next time, but fit is good & tight around nose, cheeks & chin. Quite fiddly compared to other masks with horizontal folds: but I find they need a nose wire to close gap. I’ve seen a few patterns with vertical folds, which looks good.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing your mask pattern. I am making these for my two grandchildren 5 and 7. I'm so worried about them. I'll show you when I'm done. And again thank you soooo much!!! Ladykat
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You have answered ALL our questions on your blog or through your links on the blog. Thank you for resizing to specific cm measurements. Stay Well
Appreciate your video. Starting from cutting of pattern to end is awesome. I need to see every step. I assume the final sew step creates the opening for elastic band or cord?
The width matched but the height seems to be smaller when finished. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Example, the medium should be 20 w 15 h but it’s 20w 13h.
Great tutorial! I made this for my 11-year old size medium, and it fits just right. The 1 cm turns at the ends are a little tight to thread the elastic through (had to find a tiny safety pin to help). Also - while the video says the seam allowance should be 0.7cm, it looks like you are only sewing 0.5. Which instruction should we follow (I did 0.7cm) Otherwise, this is easy, and a comfortable mask for him. Thanks!
Have made these masks and love them but the link to the pattern doesn't seem to be working any more. Can anyone help as I would love to make another mask! Thanks.
This is exactly what I'm wanting to make, but I'm afraid my outer fabric might be too light. Will fabrics that are 100% cotton work? Thanks in advance! Glad I found your video
This pattern is marvelous for sizes M on up and all recipients have raved it to be the most comfortable and best coverage mask yet. However, I have found that, with the S (I don't even want to XS), if I fold where the diagonal meets the side (3:58), there isn't enough room for each side to lie flat without bunching up against the other side. And then, when the last folds are created to make the 3D, they either have to overlap one another or else the tips must stick out beyond the top and bottom of the mask. Has anyone else experienced (and solved) this?
I'm going to try this pattern. I currently have the mask with the seam down the middle, and since its warmer weather breathing is a bit difficult. What about adding a nose wire in the nose bridge area? A lot of us wear glasses and sunglasses, and don't glasses fogging up. Thanks.
it's easier to sew in a nose piece on the 3d mask patterns without the scoop for the eyes...in other words...a rectangle shape...then, you just slide it in after your turn it inside out and sew a box around it. Not sure how it would work with this pattern unless you get a bendy wire.
@@monstead Sew a piece of bias tape onto outside or inside of mask. The tape will flex & bend at the peak & stretch as needed to fit the curves. Insert a fine wire or purchased flat nose bar. I use 19 gauge stainless steel wire & turn in tiny loops at the ends to protect face & mask from sharp ends of the wire. Bend wire to fit wearer's nose & cheek bones. I hem the ends of the bias tape before attaching to mask and remove the wires for laundering. That way you don't have to reshape the wire after the washer & dryer have beat it up! I use 5.5" bias tape & 5" wire.
Hi I am new to sewing and if you put pattern on the right side of fabric and cut one piece, for the lining if it is patterned do you place the pattern on the wrong side of fabric. I find thus part quite confusing. Love your tutorials they are very clear for a beginner to follow Many thanks Sue
You're correct. If the outside fabric and lining used the exact same pattern piece, you could then place both fabrics FACE to FACE (one side would be up and the other would be down).
Does anyone find with the kids' patterns, that the folding back out of the 3D section after top-stitching down the sides when it's in rectangle form, that it's hard to get enough fabric to fold the diagonal edges so it's parallel to the side seam?
I have a question here please if you would answer, thanks . On the pattern, it says the finished measurement should be such and such, I wonder why the seam allowance is only 1/2 cm on height and 2 cm for width?
Wish I could see it on and see how it fits on an adult. My friend has a cheek mole (high on cheekbone) and masks irritate it big time. Looking for an ultra low cut mask pattern. Anyone have any suggestions?

Which size would be a regular ladies' size please?
@@annettecoppini7378 I use the L for women's.
HOW DO U GET THE FREE PATTERN?
Thank you for teaching me a new way to clip off the corners. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that. Thank you for your pattern and tutorial. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good. But I still like KN95 mask. Because I think it will safer and I don't want to waste my time to make a mask. I buy and use it all th time. Good mask and very good price.

Thank you so much .. you so nice person to share your knowledge.. More blessings to you and your family
Thank you so much, I've made lots of these now. I need a mask that stays put when I talk so this is perfect!
Do you find these run small?
@@debbiecook8230 Be sure that the "text square" on the pattern piece measures a full 2 inches when printed out. When you go to print out the actual pattern be sure your printer says 100%. I did not notice that my printer said 68% percent (factory setting) and the pattern printed out so small!. Easy fix! I've made two so far and they fit perfectly...only 40 more to go!
Brilliant design and the most comfortable ever
Thank you so much for the patterns. I have used this tutorial and made 20 masks for my family and friends.
Did you just add the elastic at the end? It does not show when that happens in the video...
Pamela Russsell yes she added elastic to the end.
Do you find they run small?
Debbie Cook no they don’t run small it’s the right size for toddlers, kids, teenager and for men size.
peonyinlove thank you! I was thinking that the elastic casing was very little & may need more on the sides to make that wider. What size do you make for ladies or yourself?
I've searched high and low for this. Thank you so much!
I have made many masks, but now I can't wait to make this one. I love it! Thank you so much for such a wonderful video. :)
I love it and its so easier to make and its not rushing how its showing us how to do it.. thanks and mahalo..
I’ve made a few different patterns and can’t wait to try this one. Thank you for the free pattern.
This pattern works great for me! I've used it over and over. Appreciate the tutorial :)
Just made medium size for myself; will try larger size next time, but fit is good & tight around nose, cheeks & chin. Quite fiddly compared to other masks with horizontal folds: but I find they need a nose wire to close gap. I’ve seen a few patterns with vertical folds, which looks good.
Thank you very much for sharing the pattern with different sizes. It fits my family. Regards from Canada!
Thank you for your generosity. This mask is perfect.
You are so kind, good, and generous to share with everyone! Thank you from USA
Thank you sooooo much for sharing your mask pattern. I am making these for my two grandchildren 5 and 7. I'm so worried about them. I'll show you when I'm done. And again thank you soooo much!!! Ladykat
You are very generous and kind to post and share. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. This is the most comfortable and beautiful mask... I have sew many and share with friends and relatives... thank you again.
Do you have a recommendation on how we could add a nose wire and filter pocket? I love this pattern but no idea how to make the adjustments
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You have answered ALL our questions on your blog or through your links on the blog. Thank you for resizing to specific cm measurements. Stay Well
Thank you for sharing this. Great video and easy to do! The most comfortable mask I have made so far.
This video was so peaceful 😌 💕...love the pattern. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Appreciate your video. Starting from cutting of pattern to end is awesome. I need to see every step. I assume the final sew step creates the opening for elastic band or cord?
I figured but thanks for confirming so no surprises 🥰
thank you! size s was perfect for my 3.5 year old
Nice detail but how are the ear pieces attached?
Use a Bobby pin to push it through and tie them to fit. Then hide the knot in the hem.
The width matched but the height seems to be smaller when finished. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Example, the medium should be 20 w 15 h but it’s 20w 13h.
I watched many videos and this one really good.
Thank you for your tutorial and template, now I am ready to make them for my family and myself. Blessings
I really want that Hello Kitty fabric!✨💖😍🥰💗
This is an excellent video and must say, your sewing machine sews beautifully, what brand is it?
It's a Juki TL-2200QVP Mini 😊
Excellent video, thank you so much for including the pattern! I can't wait to make this, my daughter is going to love it as much as I do! ☺
Thank you for your generosity in sharing the pattern
Im so glad that see your toturial sewing mask . That is perfect Thank you so much . Very big LIKE !
This is my favourite and I make up to 30 in a row by chain piecing each time.
Thank you very much for sharing this comfy-looking mask! May I ask how I might be able to add a pocket for an extra filter , please?
I am also interested in a pocket.
Love these masks. How can I add a filter pocket?
thank you so much for free pattern and tutorial!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial and patterns. I am going to make some for my kids
Have made these masks and love them but the link to the pattern doesn't seem to be working any more. Can anyone help as I would love to make another mask! Thanks.
Hi, i like your stile ,thanks for the 3d mash pattern.... I'm not a professional but I'm willing to learn... .....
This is exactly what I'm wanting to make, but I'm afraid my outer fabric might be too light. Will fabrics that are 100% cotton work? Thanks in advance! Glad I found your video
Thank you for the free patterns.
Very nice face mask & the fabric very pretty. where I can buy the fabric? Please advise. Thanks
This is perfect. I can adapt the pattern because I don't like my masks to reach to my neck
Love these! Going to make some ASAP!
love this one, i like the design on the top will try this style ...thank you
Hi I am new to sewing and if you put pattern on the right side of fabric and cut one piece, for the lining if it is patterned do you place the pattern on the wrong side of fabric. I find thus part quite confusing. Love your tutorials they are very clear for a beginner to follow
Many thanks Sue
You're correct. If the outside fabric and lining used the exact same pattern piece, you could then place both fabrics FACE to FACE (one side would be up and the other would be down).
What are the fabric types to buy to make some?
Beautiful and very cute.
Does anyone find with the kids' patterns, that the folding back out of the 3D section after top-stitching down the sides when it's in rectangle form, that it's hard to get enough fabric to fold the diagonal edges so it's parallel to the side seam?
I am attempting to make the XS size and I am having the most trouble with the 2x1cm fold before that step. Can anyone advise?
I am not able to access the website to download the pattern. Anyone else with access issues to the pattern.
Hi I love your pattern do you have a video of same pattern with sewn elastic at the ends and not a Chanel folded
*Thank You for using clips‼️🙌🏻*
Did I miss it? When and how do elastic strips go in?
I have a question here please if you would answer, thanks . On the pattern, it says the finished measurement should be such and such, I wonder why the seam allowance is only 1/2 cm on height and 2 cm for width?
Wish I could see it on and see how it fits on an adult. My friend has a cheek mole (high on cheekbone) and masks irritate it big time. Looking for an ultra low cut mask pattern. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for the video and the free patterns. I’ll definitely try to make these!!!
