    5:55 I've used diluted Elmer's school glue and it works great. People were using Mod Podge but I wanted to try a cheaper method.

    Cool video.
    Is the reason that diode lasers can't cut is because you're using white/translucent mylar PET sheets?
    If you used black sheets would it cut?
    I know that a lot of diodes says they can cut black acrylic sheets (but not light like white) so i would think black sheets of this would be similar?

      It is basically the light passes into and through the material without resistance, I haven't tried but much like acrylic, a solid black piece may be able to be cut.

    Hey buddy had a question for ya hey I have an enclosure for my laser an a really good exhust fan but seems like smoke still wants to circulate around in the box an when I shut the lid it slows the exhaust down how can I get it to flow outside more

    • @TheClackShack

      Add air inlet

    • @EtchinAaronslaserworkshop
      @EtchinAaronslaserworkshop 7 месяцев назад

      @TheClackShack I have 1 2inch hole in the front but still seems like it wants to restrict airflow through enclosure,my vent for exhaust is located at the top so should I change location of air inlet or add more holes just don't want the smoke or fumes coming out the inlet holes I drill

    I have little holes drilled in the front scared to drill more cause don't want smoke to escape through the front instead of up out through the fan any suggestions

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack 7 месяцев назад

      You can use smoke from an incent or other means to ensure it is still pulling air in with some velocity. You do not want to over compensate

    I have the xtool d1 20 watt NON pro and want to expand and use the extension kit but I'm not sure on finding the cables (it takes 2 power cables). Any help in this area? Thanks.

      Unless you can make them, may not be able to find. @Alivepixelcreates may be able to help. He deals with D1 aftermarket parts.

    Thanks for video, is safe to cut this mylar plastic ? Thanks

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack 8 месяцев назад +1

      As safe as any other material. I do not inhale fumes from any material I engrave or cut. I ventilate all my machines. Mylar has been used with lasers for years.

    Do you know if the IR laser in the XTool F1 would cut it?

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack 8 месяцев назад

      IR beams also struggle on transparent colors. Not as well as a Co2 will.

    It's a 4inch 280cfm an sucks good but seems closing the lid it restricted to air flow outside how many holes can a guy put in the front of the enclosure to make it flow better through the fan when lid is closed

      Its not about the number of openings, its about the area of the openings. It depends on the actual volume of air being moved, just maintain negative pressure.

      @TheClackShack 7 месяцев назад

      Not likely, this material requires a machine that can cut transparent materials.
