I wasn't an Anna fan when she first came to the show- I'm a Robert and Holly fan forever. Let me say that from the moment GH put Anna with Duke, it was perfect! I love their story and I think they really are each other's true love.
This seems like yesterday. I don't think she ever fully recovered from Duke's loss. True love seems to elude her. Yes, I know Robert loves her, but it's not the same.
I could LISTEN to him just say “I’m Duke Lavery” in that VOICE all day!! He was SO incredibly good looking but also a wonderful actor who made Duke always fascinating to watch as he evolved, sometimes into his better self, sometimes not but he was always TRYING to deserve Anna’s love and loyalty!! And his relationship with Robin was a joy to watch, so much so that YEARS later Kimberly included Ian in her thanks accepting her Emmy award which was such a lovely tribute to him since it had been some years since they’d worked together!
Absolutely! Finola and Ian have been very close friends for over 30 years, and that genuinely Intimacy really allowed them to completely trust each other’s instincts in creating the incredible CHEMISTRY Anna and Duke shared!
I’ve always thought because Ian Buchanan was so INCREDIBLY good looking, that SMILE that lit up the room and of course that VOICE, his CONSUMMATE acting was often underrated!! The character he created in Duke Lavery was so complex and multi- faceted with the Charm and Charisma to create the incredible CHEMISTRY he had with Anna, of course, but also with ROBIN which was such an element of Duke’s “transformation” from his start on GH! That GH chose to WASTE all of this and Ian’s TALENT has always mystified me!! Ti keep Duke off the GH canvas for 23 YEARS is an Unfathomable decision no Duke and Anna fan will ever understand- and I say this as one who also really enjoyed Robert and Anna together VERY much but Duke and Anna had MAGIC!
+ptanyuh Maybe but there's a new doctor on GH who's Duke's son by a woman he knew before Anna. The doctor's name is Griffin Fitzhugh Munro; Anna remembered the Fitzhugh was a family name connected to Lavery.

I haven't watched GH since late 2013 but I did read on Twitter something about a sad departure. Is Duke really dead or is this a trick of some sort? And then of course there's the possibility TR could return. I have no idea what GH is about anymore lol
