Actually it is the opposite. Electric Cars/Hybrid are cheaper than Gas Cars. The reason why you buy an Electric/hybrid car is to save money from gas prices. In short, Gas cars are for people who can afford.

@@dempoy Because in the Philippines, there are no Charging Station yet unlike in the US so Electric Cars in Philippines aren't that Good in Long Ride. Also even though Gas is more expensive than Electricity, you can go Full Tank in just a few minutes but it will take Full Charge for a whole day in an Electric Car. In conclusion, Gas Cars are more convenient than Electric cars and this is the reason why Filipinos use Gas cars more than Electric cars. In the US since they have a lot of Charging stations, they prefer to use Electric Cars to save money from expensive gas prices.

12 km/L during traffic, 20 km/L on the highway seems like there is no point in buying a hybrid electric car because literally there are a lot of cars today that can achieve the same mileage for a fraction of the price. Full electric is still the best if long term savings is what we are looking for.
To be honest, we owned two hybrids here in the USA. We bought it because of the same concern, the gas prices. But we don't really like it because it limits your driving habit. It tells you what to do all the time and it wants you to drive like an old lady.

the philippines is mainly city driving we dont have really expansive higways where you cna drive for days on end flooring the car. In the philippines we drive at old lady speeds due to traffic and economic concerns and there are almost no V6 or V8s here becuase it's not practical.
