Go with all 20 Essence pulls at the start of the season for Rare, limited would be better to save until at least 100. Highest prices of even lower tier cards gives more bang for the buck, and if you get lucky the rewards are a huge increase with the essence per €. Example with my own pulls is that my first 3 Rare crafts for 20 essence were all T5 cards but still worth between 10-20€ each. Just pulled a T2/T3 GK worth 90€ after getting essence from my LaLiga teams, so that is already the same or better that I might have pulled with only 1 100 essence craft.
My "strategy"/opinion about the crafting system: I think it is only worth crafting at 20, 100 and 500 essence. Because for 50 essence you get a T4+ but from 50 you could get 2,5x T5+ (which could be also T4+ with a high chance) and same goes for 250, you could do 2,5x T3+ from 250 essence. 500 essence is a pretty long term project unless you are a high spender and you have 3 lineups in every league :D So I think I will only do the 20 and 100 essence crafting.
just checked and they seem to have removed this along with which players are in each tier and how many of each player were still available to be pulled...
I think 40 is the best as it gets rid of most of the bad players and you have a good chance of tier 3 or higher. I just got Fabio Carvalho and I am free to play.
