Hey, thanks for watching this first video about my Solarbike Worldtour! Please let me know, how you like the Videostyle and ask all your questions! 🚨Don‘t forget to Subscribe to miss no future video ! New video every week!
Found your channel from an Alex Hofvander - been following him for quite a while. You definitely don't want to have rolls of excess cable. Even with extension cords there can be an increase in resistance that can cause the failures like you experienced with the melting wires. If you still want to keep things connected but be able to un-hitch your trailer, maybe make a separate extension cord for your solar wiring set up and terminate the ends with connecters like XT90 anti-spark, or Anderson power poles. If you want to disconnect the trailer, just disconnect your wiring, put in your extension cable and you're good to go.
Happy to hear that. Yes the option I went for was not good! If I find some spare wire, maybe I will put the batteries back into the Trailer, but for now shorter cables and the Batteries in the bike bags work for me.
Super cool! I kinda wish companies would start making these sorts of bikes. Solar panels are getting super cheap nowadays and I could totally see people buying something like this. This is definitely one of the more interesting DIY solar bikes I've seen.
Thanks! Yeah the components to build a Solarbike are all available online and are getting cheap but the usecase is pretty small if you don‘t travel. What do you think?
Oh yeah watch out when coiling cables as you said, better to try to pull it around the entire cart or something, really cool video! good luck biking in the cold!
It would be interesting if you could add by daily stats elevation gain and electricity consumption. I never tried to ride a bike in freezing temperatures, long descending must be such a pain :). Safe journey!
@kilianweigand "Lüsterklemmen" aren’t ideal for flexible wires because they can loosen over time, leading to poor connections, overheating, and potential fire. Use Wago connectors or proper crimp connections for a safer and more reliable solution.
Cool stuff. Seems like similar bike that Kino Yves is using. Check him out, he's doing France to Cape Town and is probably already there. But he will cycle back to France. He has 2 batteries with him, where 1 is broken at the moment. The solar on top would solve a lot of issues for him I would think.
Excellent! Great fix. Glad to join at the start. PS. I thought you were talking about a food snack when you introduced the wire joiner. I expected you pop it in your mouth!
I like a good Winterreise : ) about the cold and the batteries. Do you pre-heat the batteries when charging in sub-zero temps? I take it, you're charging the two batteries seperately with one not getting temp from usage with the motor. Do you worry at all about potential cell damage in the cold (which is probably phantastic for the PV efficiency) Nice shoes btw
Nice to hear that! Well I didn‘t care that much… they had to do their job in cold tempretures for some days… sometimes I was able to do that and let them warm up. Now in Italy and Greece it’s no Problem:)

Coool✅ veolo Anhänger mit Surfbrett Erweiterung - als Halter für das Solarpanel 👍👍super Idee
Yesss, der Hänger ist Mega cool und die Halterung hat für mich perfekt gepasst!

Good amount of progress! Looking forward to see what's next 😉
Thanks! The Plan is to cycle all the way through Italy making our way to Pisa and Rome and take the Ferryboat to Greece :)
出发!又一次伟大的壮举,预祝旅途顺利~!
Awesome! Looking forward to the sunny days!☀️
Thanks mate👌
A oui ! Câblage enroulé : résistance cela fait. Et sûrement trop long .
Tu as réussi, bravo.
Please use WAGOS!
What‘s the advantage?

@@biospargel also SO much easier to use

Can you please tell us where did you made that amazing bike? What do you have on it! Thank you, enjoy the ride! ;*
The bike without solar is an Azub Ti Fly X you can find in the Video description. I converted the bike to Electric and added the solarroof :)
Wie heißt das kleine Solarpanel auf dem Hänger?
Danke
Da ich noch nicht weiß, was das Panel kann und wie langlebig es ist und was leistungstechnisch so geht, will ich zu dem Panel noch nichts sagen…
@kilianweigand
.. es ähnelt dem ecoWorthy 130W
rich kids have the weirdest hobbies hehe
Nice project, but why do you always refer to yourself as "we"? Is someone else traveling with you? Slightly confusing 😅
Thanks! I do that because I see you as a viewer being part of my adventure… i‘m solo traveling just my bike, the camera and I
