I love it when a song is so perfectly synchronized that the buildup gives me goose bumps. Whoever designed the video should be proud because it invokes a strange feeling when I see it. It feels just like the first time I stood in the Louvre.
No, I'm not being sarcastic. I can't wait to see what else comes from this group.
Coming back to it now, man does it ever hold up well! I think the reason it does is the restraint and simplicity of the beat and vocals giving the song the kind of mature precision that made bands like Portishead so timeless v/ so many corny trip-hop era peers. The song sticks to a very narrow textural range, all anthemic confidence w/ no cheesy flourishes all the way through, and that's why the payoff of that lovely slashing kaleidoscopic coda works soooo well. Gyeah nigguh!

Holy crap. I tried looking so hard for this song on Google and other song finding sites for MONTHS. I was so mesmerized the first listen/watch when it was first released. I’m so glad I found it again after all this time. Kate Boy is so amazing. 😭😭😭

Saw them in Boston last week, the live version of In Your Eyes is so good, it kills me that I don't like the single version as much as before. Very down to Earth people too, they really appreciate their fans.
