I wish the guitars were louder in this album. Rich fat guitar sound is what The Offspring are about.

@@MephProduction 9 other studio albums and a shit load of b sides etc say otherwise. 33.5 min of music after a 9 year break, this album should have been a masterpiece, and it is far from it.
The Offspring was my favorite band when I was in highschool in the mid 90s, I'm 40 now and this album is making me feel like a teen again all excited with this music.
I found them when i was like 8 (14 years ago), my parents raised me with 90's music, I am just jamming out to this, even though i know people from my age usually don't like this kind of music xd

@@weazz could just be my country as well, most kids around the age of 12-20 now listen to rap and almost nothing else, i don't really keep up with the modern day pop culture anymore, i don't know why but it's just not my type of music anymore

A real old school melodic punk feel with this one.
I’m loving that sound. Surf rock mixed with 80s gothy post punk. It certainly stands out from anything else they’ve ever done.
It's so interesting how the feel and message of this band changes with the times. I feel like most musicians tend to stay into their own vibe or in their own world, but The Offspring is right there like a social thermometer.
Offspring was my all time favorite band for most of my life, then overtaken by Anti-Flag in the Americana Age. But as I've grown older and gained more life experience. I've come to respect the majority of the Americana album as a testament to the lives we all once lived. It's my dad's favorite Offspring Album. With "The Kids Aren't All Right" being his favorite song of theirs. He was born in the 1950's. And that song resonates with him to this day.

I love how this song has that never stopping feeling
When I was a kid, I had Offspring CDs and my favourite tracks recorded on cassettes. I still listen to Smash and Ixnay on the Hombre frequently. Americana was also good and I did buy Cospiracy of One, but I was disapponted in it. I heard Splinter but didn’t like that much. On this new album there are a few good songs. I wouldn’t have included acoustic version of Gone Away or Coming for you in the albulm.

It's Bad Religions Offspring lol... they rock. If you're willing to name your band the Offspring in the 90's, when all religion was bad, lol, then you can sound like Bad Religion's Offspring and pull it off any time you want. Lol.
For the record this was a joke about how while this does sound a lot like a Bad Religion song, it's a call back to an interview Dexter and Noodles did a while back where the joked about "who could write the best Bad Religion song".

@@megan2484 I had to listen to the album a few times before I started to dig it. At first, I wasnt into it, which was killing me as they are my favorite band. Do I like every song? No. This is prob my favorite off the Album. Days go by I felt was decent, sure a little popish at times. The new Dirty Magic, I have a love hate thing with. (divide by/slim pickngs best songs) Rise and Fall I only really liked Trust in You, Hammer Head and Far Kid, the rest was just meh for me. I didnt mind Splinter either. (Lightning Rod!!)

This album is really good. not sure what people have to complain about . It rocks IMO!
its the mixing and mastering, it's truly awful. This song is the worst. The drums at 0:40 are just awful. Everytime the bass drum hits the hi hat gets compressed (sound squashed and cut out). The hi hat at 0:20 is so tinny and panned far right just elavates the tin. The vocals sound like he's got his head in a toilet while recording.
I've enjoyed the music they've written but the album needs to go back to mixing and mastering for a proper high quality version of it! that we should have had first time round!

this song had a ramones i wanna be sedated drum sound to start off, then a boots made for walking guitar vibe, but it's still Offspring sound. Weird but still so cool

Love the surf punk undertones. Combine that with the melodic chorus and power chords and you have an instant Offspring classic. This album did not disappoint 👍🏻

7th grade, I'm not really into music yet when a kid I really wasn't even that close to hands me the Smash cassette and tells me to go home and check this out. I did and immediately upon hearing the guitar to Self Esteem ran and begged my parents for a guitar for christmas. They got me that guitar and learned that riff as soon as I learned to form a power chord. Anyway thanks to The Offspring and hella thanks to the kid who's name I can't remember for changing my life and setting me on my own musical journey. This song takes me right back to that day.
