  • On this adventure I woke up mega early and decided to go up to Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park and take on the Fiona/Donald hill Ben Venue. This is only a 50 minute drive for me and for being a short drive it was the first time I visited this hill. I really enjoyed this walk. With a steady incline to start with the path is well established and well marked. With a fantastic walk through the forest the views opened up when I came out. Continuing my way through the fantastic path the steep incline started. Not too difficult but it started to get boggy in parts. Most of the bog was avoidable except from one bit where I had to make a jump. Once up on top their are a couple of ups and downs till you reach the first top (which I missed) then you can make your way to the 2nd top. But once I made it to the final top I was cursed with the glag. But other than that it was a fantastic morning. I hope you all enjoy my video. It was the only hill I know my dad had visited when he was younger and I hope you enjoy this dad. ber

Remember always prepare before going yourself on a hike. Tell plenty people where you are going. Study your route and take a map and compass. Also take power banks with you. Always take your time and take in the scenery and have fun.

Great early morning adventure up Ben Venue! 🏞 The walk through Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park looked amazing, even with the boggy patches. Too bad about the glag at the top, but it still sounded like a fantastic hike. Thanks for sharing!

It seems like a good hike Alan 😀. I've been visiting Scotland for 25 years and I've never done it, or Ben Ledi for that matter. Despite being a frequent visitor to Callander and calling it my 2nd hometown 😉 Next time I think 🙃At least I've started doing more hiking the last couple of years since my good lady passed 😢 Even bagged a few Munros now 💪

@karlejnarch sorry to hear about your good wife. Yea its a good hike. It's about a 9 to 10 mile hike. A really good hike. It's well sign posted too. And it's the only hill I know my dad has been too. You will enjoy it. Ben ledi is really good too. Been up their plenty times but only ever did the up and down the same path route. Their is a circular route for Ben Ledi. I'll need to do that next time. Well done on bagging a few munros. Am hoping to bag more this year. But just enjoying hillwalking any size. Thanks for watching.

Nice Alan, glad you got it done, I enjoyed my walk up there a few weeks ago, I nearly went up the right hand path also but my god told me I was off route.
    Some nice drone footage Alan👍

@hikingwithfrank315 thanks Frank. I still don't know how I missed it. I just kept walking and didn't check my OS maps. I think when I got to the clag I mind was like just get up and get it done then drop back down to have something to eat. If I stayed up their that little longer it would of cleared. Just my luck lol. Thanks for giving me the idea of going up their and thanks for watching.

@@MyScottishAdventures it’s very easy to miss as the path you went is the more defined path, a wee excuse to go back up sometime. I’ll defo be back up in winter.
