Recent right leg bk amputee myself...almost 2 mths now. Currently ok'ed for prosthesis fitment but due to lack of insurance its gonna take awhile with a lot of hoops to jump thru.Even tho i knew for years "30" that it was gonna eventually happen...the amputation that is it still came as a bit of a shock.I was already mentally all right with it but the one thing its still taking me a bit to come to terms with is that a wheelchair and all that comes with them will always be a part of my life even if only on a time share with an eventual prosthetic.I am old enough now that the need to be a hard ass and do everything by hopping or on crutches isnt realy appealing anymore.I am glad to see that while you havent let it stop you from doing things ya want...hell you embrace em you also dont see the need to do it the hardest way all the time
Im so sorry to hear about your amputation, but Im glad you are mentally okay with it. Some days will be harder than others, AND THATS OKAY. You are so strong to have gone through everything you have. Find things you love to do and youll make them work, whether its from a wheelchair or another assistive device. I HIGHLY recommend doing some research because there are a lot of organizations out there to help with prostheses or other adaptive equipment, especially when insurance won't pay for them. Keep your head up!
Annika, the text normally contains a lot of links and nothing much of interest usually. Your text was actually one of the funnier ones I've seen. Happy to see you posting more regularly now. It is always a bit worrying when people go MIA, because it's impossible to watch people talk about their life during a rough time without starting to care about them. Love your videos. Keep them coming, and if you decide to take a break, give us a short notice first :-).
Thanks for letting me know at least SOMEONE reads the bio. Ill definitely do some research to see what other people put. But I will keep that in mind. Glad you stuck around ❤
I use a seal in liner. I dont like suspension sleeves and i have a pin on my other leg. Between the 3, it it is my favorite liner in comfort, appearance, and maintenance
That mug is brilliant, your energy and humour and love for life is an inspiration and infectious. I'm recovering from a pretty horrendously broken leg at the moment and it's not going as well as the doctors had hoped, so I was told a couple of days ago that there's a real possibility that it will need amputation. It's still crazy to think about but you and a few others on RUclips have helped put my mind more at ease about that as a possible outcome not being the end of the world.
For a while..Ive been thinking in my head, "how am I gonna wear my prosthetic leg in my house?" I cant take off the shoe because shoe is too hard to put on since the fake leg cant bend its ankle...I cant buy an indoor shoe because even if I did, the chemotherapy I am on gives me very bad blisters on my hands and FOOT. So what am I to do? Thats why I came here.
I got it off amazon! I looked for magnetic spice rack. Its a little pricey for the plated, and you have to buy your own spices, but its completely customizable and I already had spices so 🤷🏻♀️
As a bilateral amputee i love to see’s others with a likewise demeanor. Sending live your way. New sub here. Given the opportunity give my content a view. I’m trying to do more tutorial content for others like ourselves.
The difference between you and me is that I got an amputation above the knee. Also I dont use a wheel chair. To me, as a man, I think wheel chairs are a last resort. I'd rather get exercise and mobility over the chair.
You cannot ever have enough cheese for a meal. That casserole looked divine!! Thank you for sharing with us. Your cat is precious!!
Love this!! 💜

Curious question, what type of liner do you use when you put on your prosthetic? Referring to the silicon ring thing towards the bottom.

Not the best place to bring this up but you have an imposter scammer pretending to be you on Instagram. She tried to scam me for money.
