This man is a genius without even trying to be. He speaks from the heart and just seems so genuine. When we watch how a kids thinks and says things in a wholehearted, innocent way of just straight up truth with no harm behind anything wee an innocence we love and want yo nurture. Sadly as we grow up we disappointingly lose those qualities and I’ve never understood why. But Mr Rodney Norman seems to have retained these qualities and this makes him a rare, beautiful, magnificent soul! Mr Norman, I thank you for who are, the world needs you my friend so please don’t stop spreading the joy and heartfelt messages you spread, the feeling of happiness and contentment you deliver to us all is much appreciated. Being cool is great! It’s really all I’ve ever been and had hoped to be. The trick is that you’ve got to BE cool instead of TRYING to be cool, and being yourself is the path to be being cool always. You also usually end up meeting other cool people that know other cool people that were cool before we were all cool, so...being yourself though. Like Rodney.

Brilliant and insightful advice. I the mid to late 90s, the Chicago Tribune printed a column by staff writer Mary Schmich. It was advice for the graduating class of that particular year. It was later turned into a spoken word song by Baz Luhrmann, called "Everybody Is Free To Wear Sunscreen. A newspaper journalist myself, at the time, I'd read thousands of columns and articles, and to this day, that column is, hand down, the most heartfelt and poignant piece I've ever read. It was very much in line with this particular observation of human psychology Rodney has made. If your a Rodney Norman fan (lol, or you're Rodney Norman), consider giving it a read. I think you'll enjoy it. Mr. Norman, I thoroughly enjoy your work. It is original, creative, comical, and educational, all rolled into one. There are no 100% "cool" people. There are some people who are able to perform selfless acts and help others without expectation of recognition or compensation. These expressions of kindness are what I consider cool. You can become "cool" by spending more time helping others and less time wondering how to be cool.
