The dad had great entrepreneur skills. I admired his skills and optimism!
The dad is a super guy. He really soaked in the experience. But the rest of his family is spoilt. In part he is to blame because he never taught his kids to be independent. He spoilt his family by giving them a very sheltered life. But I hope they learn. Still, Andy is a great guy!
What a spoiled family, I’d love a chance to have this experience with my family and they are wasting it except father
The dad is the bom
i definately agree with you
Me too. They could drop me and my three kids and six grand kids and they wouldn’t need to come back and get us. I was a single dad raising my kids and we camped fished or hunted just about every free moment we had. That was how we had fun. My son is a former marine . If we had a knife and a few fish hooks were good just about anywhere. Never been in a real cold climate. That would be the hardest for us
Sorry to say Andy, your family sucks... I'm sure, they learned nothing from the effort you put together for them. But Andy, I hope, you will remember the best days of your life for rest of your life.
What a beautiful island! So many resources. It's so sad that most people in the free world don't have a clue of how to sustain themselves with all the free food and materials that are available to them.
I would love to live in an island. My fiance is from an island here in the philippines. Stayed there few times and its amazing. You gotta be resourceful though
I take it you commented from the middle of roughing it in the Sahara then Bear Grills?
free world?
I really can't stand the spoiled mother. The kids too. At least Dad is trying.
She make the kids be like that. The kids Ac better than the mom
The dad, for the win. He was the only redeeming aspect of this episode.
Poor Andy !..............and the wife never took off the Cartier !
What an absolute waste!!! The Dad is the only transformed and grateful person.
Now see I appreciate it that someone like Joy Hickman-Meyer here, who obviously knows the family personally has taken time to comment. Far too often those commenting do so as if they actually could possibly KNOW how a person is affected by an experience from a highly edited 60 minute television program. Any other insightful tidbits you've gleamed from your relationship with the family you care to share with us?
Vacation with assistance, yes ... Survival, not even close !
Yet that was enough to make the family realize their reality.
WE LOVE ANDY. Not quite sure how he puts up with those wet rags though!
I feel sorry for the dad. Once he makes his career change that marriage is a goner. The wife is to bloody spoiled and stuck up to have it any other way.
I give that man credit for building his wife a kitchen and bringing some of the home all that way - that's a top husband there woman!
Cringe! They were so rude to the locals. Did you see the youngest just lying down as the locals give them their best. Spoiled brats. What a waste.
I made it to 39 minutes and I just refuse to waste another 20 on the ending. These are some of the most annoying, whiny people I've ever seen -- except for the dad. Poor guy.
Just a little spoiled in a bad way
I think the wife don't appreciate the husband
Vicki: "I'm so proud of you"
Andi: "She hasn't said that in 20 years"
Poor guy. He does everything for his family.
Run for the hills mate!
Vicki undermined poor Andy the whole time. He had the right attitude and it seems to me that his failing to make the family appreciate what they have falls on Vicki alone!! So sad, kudos to Andy for trying!!
If I was married to her I would also want to get stranded on an island
From a Pacific islander Andy you did very well stepped up to the challenge and the family God bless you and your family tc.bula all the way from Fiji.
I’m dead of an idea building the shelter under coconut 🌴 tree 😂 .
If they would have really been stranded maybe they would have worked harder
Andy is definitely invited to the cookout
Something tells me they will feel happier out on that island and after because they went from being tucked inside of blankets doing nothing but staring at the tv, compared to being outside in the sun while being physically active + they actually work for a goal and communicate their thoughts and feelings with each other. At home they looked like islands next to each other no contact even though they sat right next to each other. Finally they will probably start to appreciate that they are a family and in ok health.
Ummm nobody watches TV anymore
Andy smh poor fella needs a new family. Pretty sure that anyone else would be more appreciative to the time and efforts then those stuck up brats .
21:54 This guy is to the point, dead right "merry England" lol! 16:27 wait till get ripe, they open all those fruits, slice the yellow pulp in horizontal and eat them, and grated coconut and sugar if you like or if you have. once the pulp is consumed reach inside, there are milky soft nuts too. 24:48 yes the islander nailed it! well said!
Vicki why did you even go? All you do is talk about home. Even after meeting with the local villagers. You’re quite annoying 🙄 this should be titled “Karen “ lives on a tropical island with family for a month.🙄
How have I never heard of this show!
Oh right, I’m American.
Thanks Wonder! 🤗
You are so beautiful. I live in Alghero on the Island of Sardinia in Italy and my doors are open for you would you want to come and explore it. :)
I’m English and I’ve never heard about this show either lol 😂
It was POTENTIALLY going to air in the states but was ultimately axed due to lacking enough sex and violence. FOX is co-opting the series and reshooting with very attractive, single paroled felons convicted of heinous, horribly violent crimes. Thankfully due to overcrowding and fears from the BIG SICK 😷 they've had really well attended casting calls.....and to give a sense of what you can expect from the casting calls alone there were 7 unwanted pregnancies and 32 felonious assaults. *Parolee Paradise Island coming to FOX this fall!!! -hosted by Ryan Seacrest and brought to you by the producers of American Idol, COPS & When ANIMALS Attack*
@@zachall101 the pandemic is bringing us content from everywhere. 🤣
Just be happy you didn't hear about it for so long.
It never ceases to amaze me how meat eaters are shocked when they realise an animal has to be killed lol
Wonder how many people would become veggies had they had kill and gut their own animals to eat
WER FLEISCH ISST! SOLLTE ES AUCH TÖTEN KÖNNEN!!
Sorry! My English, is to bed, to answer in your language! 🙄
Just shows they didn't raise livestock. Every county child knows meat comes from the barn to the back porch to butcher and into the kit for dinner. And leftovers get canned.
@@cynthiarothrock4255....exactly. I am from the Hopi Tribe in Arizona and my grandfather and father owned sheep, cattle and chickens plus they were farmers. Both grew alot of dry corn, purple beans, watermelon and other vegetables Ike zucchini, carrots, green onions, radishes, green chili, summer squash, yellow squash, tomatoes and cauliflower, lettuce and cabbage. He shared it with the people in our village or barter for sweet corn and more different melons. I miss those days. We completely lived off the land. Bless my father and grandfather both are gone also my grandmother. RIP in paradise.
I love this the husband making comfortable things lol
If that local guy really left them alone for a couple of days they would die
I’d say be slimmer not die ,,Uc an go without food for weeks
Yes so I know it no true
They'd be dead from no water in three days.
Great story! I wish there were more programs like this! Amazing dad! I do appreciate the communication between them, but they sure could do the with a bit more optimism and positivity, as they all chose to redesign their life going back to UK
Firstly the young green coconuts picked at 47:26 definitely arent the same dried husked coconuts at 47:57 but mainly i felt so sad for the dad, his wife hasn't said she is proud of him in over 20 yrs??!! Poor guy, I pray they self evaluate
What a spoild wife ...😡
I really loved the dad his so positive person
The island is so beautiful. I would love to spend a lot of time there😥
@Emanuel Emanuel flixzone is for people that get surprised by Chris Hanson when they're picking up a date....."Why don't you have a seat right over there"
Me too
Thanks for posting wonder!
How spoiled can people be?? Some people marry a nightmare of negativity wife. Sad.
A witch
Mad they didn't think about researching the local fruits and forage
Mad? I think it's time for you to take a break from youtube for a bit.
could they have picked a more annoying family 🤷♀️😂
Just my words...
His family is still ungrateful to me but I’m glad Andy had an amazing experience plus his wife she didn’t even try ughhhh…..
Man that tom guy just proving he's a little whimp. C'mon step up up lol
Pick up a few books on survival and learn a few survival camping and building a fire and finding foods and survival cooking etc.
So a nice 3 week vacation
That's the way I would like to live.Sad Im Older now.
Andy and family , welcome to reality . Well handled . Well done 👍
Keep them coming I love these videos
I love this show, i hope there is alot more to watch
I feel bad that they cant learn something new... In order to grow as a person u need to learn new things an experience new things....
How cool, what a vacation, loved it, a family learning to survive on the basics, from a world of everything to a world where you have nothing, at least they had each other, it was good to see that at the end, they learned alot about themselves, there family, how much stronger they became when they nuckled down, and learned how to appreciate the little things and each other, i really enjoyed this program something more families should do.
I think you may have responded to the wrong episode. 🤷
Andy is great but the rest of the family need a reality check. The older daughter saying that she would just go to the super market to get pork where they humanly kill the pig needs to go see what it’s really like in for a pig in a large pig producing farm. Same with chickens and eggs and beef.
I enjoy this views I like living a simple life thank you for the update 👍
Punctuation is 👍 also.
These are some of the most annoying, whiny people I've ever seen
Beyond spoilt and any change…..glad ANDY had the sense to change and adapt……he should’ve just taken his mates along instead lol
Andy is the only person with some positive effort. There rest is absurd. And really not a survival.
3 weeks and none of them lost weight or had an expected sunburn. And Andy going shirtless almost the entire show, was the most depressing part.
Well there's complimentary SunScreen at the all-inclusive resort just beyond the tree line....spotty WiFi and Continental Breakfast is really roughing it and they failed to incorporate that footage.
Beautiful Islands. They have a different command of time that those of us in the West could learn from.
Anyone notice the Adidas clothing and the electricity in their large community centre? The buildings seem quite new, too. While some things on the show are for show, I still enjoyed the episode.
I love Andys spirit
When the elders visited the island in the end, the least Andy could have done was to wear a shirt.
Colonialism may be in the past but any well educated Englishman worth his salt knows he's better than a lowly island savage or "elder" and they least they could have done when they were in the presence of Noble Andy is bowel & curtsey and refer to him with the proper respect he's entitled to. Even a savage can practice etiquette....I heard not one My Lord nor My Lady.
Incredible place wonderful people also from the city English Family awesome too:)
Not really "survival". Just some folks going camping.
Camping in....uh, paradise.....it's hardly roughing it. Especially when you consider they're likely being financially compensated quite handsomely.
Exactly and getting payed for so quit complaining already
Yet that was enough to make the family realize their reality.
Could have taken the pig as a pet.
Love your videos
They're not alone on that island !!! At about 22 min. You can see 2 people in the far background in blue. And of course, there's a whole crew video taping this whole thing. See if you can spot them lurking about throughout this episode!
I feel so sorry for the dad. The wife and kids are lazy. The daughters boyfriend is basically living off the family and expect her parents to keep up his and the daughter's life style
The wife sick
I actually really enjoyed this programme 😀😊.
And now we'll all sleep a little more soundly tonight knowing you enjoyed it your Majesty.
@@pelicanphuucker4lifeBased only on your comment and the OPs I believe if you asked 100 people who'd they rather be friends with all 100 would say Tyrone!
If you made this video you would relish his comment as well!
I enjoyed it as well!
A lot more fulfilling then a typical vacation as you take your new self reliance skills back home as well as a new appreciation for other cultures!
@@antonsaldana5861 if you asked me 100 times if I'd be your friend Id still say NO.
Really??
Wait 1 second in and im like is that David mitchel?????? PERFECT NARRATOR🤣😂
What will happen to the pig? He can’t draw water from the well!
Anyone would think that they were just plucked off the street and dumped there, it amazes me that none of these families did any basic research into survival before they went, even if you don't know where you are going the basics like building a shelter and fishing are quite easy to learn, Ray Mears has been making programs for 40yrs!
The way they initially built their home is what you do in Canada for a green house to survive on the cooler days.
I wish to find a ma like the father. I love to try new ways of life for experience and for lessons to learn in life. A challenge to be a memory. Life is short. We should live it to the fullest
Sad... Set the net in the ocean and leave it. Check it throughout the day. Roots are good sources of carbs. Roast the coconut. Thicken it to use as sauces and water proofing. Palm fronds woven into baskets and shelter . Thank goodness I was taught self reliance at a very young age.
When net fishing use the hold coconut leaf to chase the fish in the net even use a stick. Love to see yous find coconut crab they even catch the bird and eat it
They would have only lasted until the inital supplies ran out. Incompetence in the extreme except for Andy. Why take books to read when there are jobs to do ???
I would love to be on an island
Nice Islands
But the whole time was a camera team at their side. So that means for me not alone........
Maybe 5 cameraman and 5 assistant crews😂😂😂
They have completely spoilt those kids to the point they're all cry babies after 2 days. Especially the lad, crying cus he cant have a burger, what a big wuss 😉👍
i'd be dreaming of Pizza , i mean Fish everyday ugh !
The parents suck as individuals are completely selfish and toxic as a couple. I feel bad for their children
I think after this, Andy is regretting the fact that he and his wife have completely and rottenly SPOILED their children. The wife isn't much better. As a "Westerner", I'm embarassed these people come from our culture. They didn't even try, they just waited for dad to force them into things. Andy is the only one that went there and truly tried to learn the basics of living off the land. It took the rest of the family nearly the entire 3 weeks to actually pull together and do something as a family. Early on, I think it was the FIRST time Andy had gone successfully fishing and the wife says, "I'm so proud of you", and he replies with "I think that's the first time you've said that in 20 years". How incredibly sad.
guess this family was not hungry enough, I would of left them starve
In a zombie apocalypse we know mum going first
Dont lie they all go to a hotel at the end
No electricity for the local villagers...except they had electric lights at night.
"Not The Real Swiss Family Robinson" Not even close.
I'd love to see people in a situation like that with nails and lumber 🤣
I would love to stock on that island with Andy
Where's episodes 1 thur 4? I don't see it listed on wonder.
Probably come out over the next few weeks..
Father is great love able and he is enjoying bit everyone else is just waste 😅
yeah we kinda take Chairs for granted , lol
@21:28 in and had to stop and comment - I agree with Mr Dye, as for the bf Tom he has a lot and I mean a lot of growing up to do - as for Mrs Dye all she strives for is 'easy' aka lazy she needs to put her money where her mouth is and should she is worth her weight as a successful recruitment consultant and not be just another, 'Karen' or 'Sharon' from Essex - she and so far useless bf Tom are getting my right wound and riled up!
80% through this family and I think you should have left them there a lot longer. Like years
it dawned on me like 2/3 the way into the video , what are they doing to make drinkable water ?
At the first of the video it said there was a well
@@sabrina-uu2ej ok i musta missed that part
They had a well
were sighn up
the camera man is invisible
True I have been searching him hehe
Hahaha.. they should finding around anything locad fruits
ha ha the Magic Toilet back home
People in the big citys my God help you all .....after corona and you have to leave the city
made me Laugh , why don't we just stay here in the Village ? , lol
Vicky should be happy, she’s not the only pig on the island now 😂
Ive watch like 5 of this is this the last one?
