- If you've never fed grape jelly to Orioles before, you probably don't really know what to expect. In this video, I'll give you a few tips on feeding grape jelly to orioles. I'll also give you an idea on what you can expect when feeding Orioles for the first time. If you decide to try feeding Orioles, check to see if you are in their summer range first.
If you want to take a look at the exact bird feeders that use, I will put links to them below. I am an Amazon affiliate, so if you buy one using the links, I will get a small commission, but you won't pay any extra.

wow they sound like a wren, I have never seen a Oriole before, and I live in Maryland home of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team
They are probably around, you just don't seem them often. We almost never saw them until we started feeding them.
We have been having one or two a week that I can tell. I bought the blue one on your recommendation and I love it!
They have been really going through a lot of jelly here, along with the other birds that eat it. Glad that blue one is working out for you, Susan. We've been using that one for a number of years now.
Wow thank you I'm learning a lot
You're welcome!
What kind of grape jelly, bought? Thx
We have been using Welch's.
How long did it take you to atrract the Orioles? thx
The best time to attract them for the first time is in about mid to late April. If you put jelly out for them at that time, they should find it in a week or two if you have them in your area.
I’m near a creek & a small wooded area, but hadn’t seen an oriole around before till just yesterday! My sister-in-law & I were debating what it was, we looked at all the yellow birds in our area & none were quite right till I saw this & you noted it was a female! She was happily eating some seeds I had on the ground, but I’m hoping to get a feeder & jar of grape jelly now!! Thanks for the video.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news bad news, but if it was eating seeds, it wasn't and oriole. As far as I know, Orioles don't eat seeds.
I live in Southwest Ohio and I have been seeing Orioles this year for the first time so I just bought a feeder and I'm getting ready to put it out. It holds two cups of grape jelly and it has spikes to hold two orange halves. I hope I'm not setting it up too late and I hope they will come to it. Thank you for a very informative video, your setup is beautiful.
If they are in the area, they will find it eventually. I don't even mess with orange slices anymore. If they have grape jelly, they ignore the orange slices. Thanks for watching! Good luck!
