I didn't realize aftermarket head units were still much of a thing. I started driving in the late 90s and back then I always had to replace the head unit and speakers for decent sound and options compared to stock. Car entertainment has improved greatly over the years, so I've just added a sub, amp, and tweeters for the past few years. Must say, I'm not surprised to see Alpine still running things.
First things first: Audi was the first to bring camera's out into the commercial world. The new Etron variants (even the Audi 45 and 55 models) have these mirrors. Its not Lexus that does it first commercially, its Audi.
Actually there was several concept cars with side cameras about in 90's. Only in last 5years have the cameras and video quality got to a stage where they are cost effective. However the placement of the screens on the Lexus looks better than on the Audi. A few years ago Jaguar where trying out a camera and screen on the 'A' post to eliminate some blind spots. Along with Ultraviolet front projector lights to illuminate any nylon or man-made fabric's ahead Where are they now?
The idea of road wave is something I thought of twenty years ago and never followed through with man I can kick myself. And for the person that did thank you sir your a genius
The locking nut will never work. Theyre dumping all this money into a locknut that can be foiled by a playdough mold. Press a piece of playdough into the hole, use that to make a cast metal but and take the wheels off. The fact that these are cut much deeper than current lock nuts, makes this casting way much easier to foil than the current standard.
level1samurai Weather affects the camera. If the lenses gets dirty, salt, etc.... the visibility will be reduce. When I use my backup, powered camera rear view mirror, and front camera in winter, the camera get dirty, I can barely see anything.
@@bogoss3178 same with Windows and mirrors but the cameras are a hell of a lot easier to clean. When you just have to wipe the dirt off of a little space
level1samurai nope, cleaning camera is not easy because it requires you to use cleaning product to get the dirt out. I don’t keep cleaning product in my car. And when it is freezing in outside, you don’t want to spend time cleaning. Just scraping the ice from the windows is already enough. I know better because I don’t usually clean my camera even though they are dirty. I only clean the camera when I take my car for a car wash.
I hope that side mirror camera ain't expensive to replace. I am considering buying this car and typical of all the cars that I have bought after spending so much, parts are outrageous to replace
The rear view cameras are illegal in the United States currently, but Elon Musk is fighting for them to be legalized, so he can put them on his new cyber truck.
1- useless 2- useless 3- scan the nut and print a tool to open it - useless 4 - way to expensive to be real one day + it's not a car thing 5 - not aviable I'm out ...
Roadwayve is instantly illegal in most places, obstructing your rear view and using a device whilst driving. I would definately use the digital mirrors especially if you could use them to record also
So now you got to do to steal somebody's Wheels is take two self-tapping metal screws screw into the pattern till you get a good good tight grip and then take a screwdriver put it in between the two screws and pull and guess what happens the lock that will spin
That digital side rear mirror was my idea. I've that idea decades ago, but the monitor is in the central rear mirror instead of on the side of each front window. So in the center rear window, it devided into 3 separate monitor, left side, center, and right side.
That locking wheel nut from Ford is so ridiculous. Have had locking wheel nuts and I lost the only key I had because I bought the truck pre-owned. And oh my god Dodge has a spinning outer sleeve so you can’t hammer on a correct size socket and twist it off. So I had to go to the dealer just to have them remove all 4 lock wheel lugnuts and replace them with regular lug nuts. For trade I let the tech keep the 4 lugnuts for doing it for me. If it wasn’t for that they would have charged me $100 that’s fucking stupid.
The rear view cameras are way too big and stick out too much. Should be multiple cameras almost flush mount, stitched together into one picture per side
None of those things were new. Most of them were fairly common. The camera mirrors failed because, by law, you have to have physical mirrors on both sides and a rear-view in most places. Really? A touchscreen radio was included on the list. Most cars have those now and you can convert older models for about $200, $500 for the fancy app stereo.
Digital rear view mirrors are super. afcorse i dond have them on my Yaris WRC replica bud i boad a set of camera and tv's on aliexpres and i am gona place them on my merrrors so i have the same nice viwe on the road and the tv in the hook of the dashboard. My Yaris 2017 just like a new Lexus
God help you if you or the garage lose your locking nut. Even if the manufacturer keeps a digital copy of the shape and can send out a replacement, it will take them months. It cures one issue of mass locking nuts being available, yet it creates another issue by having a one off shape that cannot be copied. The cameras for mirrors is a brilliant idea. It solves many problems cause by rain or other detritus. Sadly for UK motorists, these cameras are outlawed because you cannot have a screen in the vehicle that would distract the driver. So back to 3000 year technology of mirrors for us!
$134 to swear at other drivers. Sold!
LOL
My thoughts as well🤣 they need to add this feature 🖕🏾 to
Samsung’s overtaking display is absolutely brilliant. It’s simple and practical. One more point for Samsung.
6:22 an emote screen that blocks your rear window view. just in case you have free time inbetween using your phone.
6 ads in a 10 minute video? Someone's greedy.
yeah why not try adblockplus! Also donations are much welcome!
Just turn on airplane mode!

I can communicate instantly with other drivers for free with just one finger.
Lmao
And it gets your point across instantly
Imagine the truck was playing an incorrect video, you'd be effed
I absolutely *love* the Samsung Safety Truck with the rear transparent display. Very nice indeed. Wish that was for all truckers despite their size.
If the tech been around for years, then why isn't it been used.
@@Spookssga Haven't got a clue. I do know that not all companies can afford the latest things but stick to what they've got.
The Ford locking nuts, Great idea w/ the voice! If I got them, I'd get a flat tire the same time I got laryngitis!
I’m trying to know when to buy road wave lol 😂
Ryuk551 anyone know where I can get one of those Road Waves?
Ryuk551 its illegal
My wheels on my cars have special locking but I want that one!
“only the owner can unlock the nut” 😂
Soooooo more stuff to break with the mirrors and what’s the Replacment cost when one gets knocked off lol

The screen at the back appears to block the rear view Mirror. So you can’t see anyone behind you. So saying you SORRY will be used most of the time
Just keep "I'M SORRY" lit up the whole time LOL
Cargo vans have no rearview mirrors...
The idea of road wave is something I thought of twenty years ago and never followed through with man I can kick myself. And for the person that did thank you sir your a genius
Waze made most of the onboard GPS navigation systems with expensive updates, obsolete.
it's google maps and yanosik for me (waze sucks in Europe), but agreed. I wonder when the car manufactures will stop pushing their systems.
3:16 I want to see the Lockpicking Lawyer pick THAT lock.
Be careful what you ask for.
One of the best gadgets ever built is hands free blue tooth, rear view camera, air bags .
You can be the voice more often.
Agree
😂
Thanks for the video, Im gonna buy a Samsung truck.
6:35 *intuitive road rage*
Unless I can make it say f*ck off, it's useless to me.
You narration is much more enjoyable
The mirrors also use up your car battery.
I’ll Just use normal mirrors
Audi is pronounced “Ow-Dee” not “Or-Dee”!
That Charger port for the vehicles is really cool
Where can you even buy road wave at? Lmao 😂
CarAide & the cameras are the best inventions
Nice video .EMERGENCY TIRE INFLATOR, MUST BE NEEDED TO EVERY CAR OWNER FOR EMERGENCY SITUATION
that drive bot thing would be great if it wasn´t made for just modern cars but also cars from the 1980´s lol it would save me a lot of hassle
Does music never change in these kinda videos?.
It'd be sweet if they played a movie on the back of the truck
I got a ad that answers my homework for me...
safety truck.... all semi trucks should already have this
be yourself dont try to emulate the original voice.....
If the mirrors record, even better.
Nice job new guy. I dont mind the change up. Different than the norm but that's good in some ways
That's got to be alot of draw to power 4 screens that way. Would cost a fair amount of coin in diesel to keep it running all the time.
Samsung truck should add sensors that warn the driver behind if it's safe to overtake 👌👌
6:30, I fear people with write more insults than anything
And when technology fails? sometimes keep it simple and stupid is better.
You ARE a fine voice talent!
are wheels on a ford so valuable that people are stealing them? Best safety feature to prevent theft is simply FORD LOGO
What I'm you have custom 22" s on your car??
SecureTeam music in the background
Your face works well
the traditional mirror much remains, but digital mirror and camera and anti accident system must be equipped, for very specific is auto braked system.
The digital mirrors has been a normal thing in cars for a couple of years now

Super Liked Your Voice..
Camera in cars are ok when the lens are cleaned. But with snow, mud, and dirt on the lense of the camera the visibility can be pretty bad.
That's the same with mirrors and the cameras are heated so water and snow has no effect

I thought Lamborghini did the camera thing
The mirrors are improperly positioned. Why would you need to see the same thing 3 times? Side view mirrors are to eliminate blind spots.
Locking wheel hardware becomes unreasonably inconvenient for everyone when a wheel lock key cannot be found.

Road wave. The start of all misinterpretted messages and road rage

Great stuff 👌🏾
Truck cam all well and good till it starts lagging
Honda e has them as standard on there car. So honda where the first mass production manufactyre to offer srandsrd fit in the uk.
That friggin' music on the video....please...everyone is using it!!!
Honest, should outsource all future voice overs to this guy.
bmw I8 had digital mirrors. But the problem with this type of thing is that its would be hella expensive to fix if someone damaged it.
If truckers just did the decent thing and signalled when it was safe to overtake.
I've seen stupid things but the one in the rear windshield beats them all...

Hey do some bike gadget.
Audi already has a car with camera mirrors in europe, the e-tron
Interesting tech, but the accompanying music was most annoying.
