Jones is getting destroyed knocked out cold at heavyweight soon. Unless he runs away. You better keep hoping he retires chael. The only reason he’s selling pay-per-views in the first place is we are wanting to see him lose. And he still can’t sell. His pay-per-view numbers are still garbage. So….. What do you think? I would moon you and your mom also except my ass doesn’t look like a boney stinking raisin. I almost puked listening to that story. you both would love my moon a lot more.

The UFC made me immune, to "The greatest fight in UFC history". At one point (Id say about 12-15 years ago) that exact line, was both Rogan and Whites prefered line to sell a fight. Which meant every UFC event, and I do mean all because there werent that many, held "The greatest fight in history". They hammered that so hard, if a card did not have the greatest fight in history, it probably kinda sucked. Historical fights are extremely rare, you only get that many Rumble in the Jungle or Chael P Sonnen fights in a lifetime. Im happy with a good scrap on a saturday night, and this sounds like it.

If Jon loses, other than being undisputed champ, I'm not sure how we will credit Aspinall for it. Very cerebral, very American Gangster to see that sliver of Jon's personality that most people don't focus on- Jon's desire to project an awesome image to the mark, whether it be through feigned spirituality or overwhelming domination. He really does love the opinions.
It's what's always bothered me about his arguing online. Not that he does it, but that I can never imagine him insecurely angry while he's doing it, like others would. As if he's removed from it, looking down on the people humorously.

I would prefer Khabib vs GSP,
Jon vs Francis is probably slightly bigger than Jon vs Tom, just because of the freak power Francis has that adds another element to the fight. Tom can knock you out ofc, but Francis has some scary knockouts where you wondered if the other person possibly died (overeem for instance).
So, GSP vs Khabib, then Francis vs Jon, then Jon vs Tom. Although given GSP is retired, I would say this is the 2nd biggest fight you could make currently. Actually Jon vs Alex Periera might be bigger, but real fans probably suspect Alex wouldn't last very long. So i'll get the ranking as they are.

Jones v Aspinall may not be the biggest fight in history, but possibly HW History. Sure, Brock had the fame from WWE... but there was not that alleged GOAT status vs the impression and stuff from the IC.
There can be a bigger fight in the future though. If Jon beats Tom, and Pereira beats Ankalaev while getting his grappling (defense and possibly offense) heavily tested. But that fight will only be big if both Jon and Poatan can get through their proper challengers in a decisive fashion.
Anyone saying that that fight is bigger right now probably dont understand that Pereira mostly has a punchers chance vs Jon Jones, admittedly he is a great puncher but Jon is one helluva grappler with great distance management on the feet... even if he pokes everyone in the eye... possibly intentionally.

Connor vs Nate 3 for Connor's comeback fight, or Connor vs Max for the BMF belt would both likely do better than Jones vs Tom. Connor has a bigger fan base than Jon and Nate/Max both have bigger fan bases than Tom. They would have to stack the card for Jones vs Tom for it to do numbers. Connor vs Nate 3 with Justin vs Dustin 3 as the co-main might get close to the Connor/khabib numbers.

I'd rather see Tom vs Jones then Jones vs Ngannou because Jon finishes Ngannou inside 2. Tom would put up the greatest opposition Jones has ever fought.

We have seen the younger guy take over the reign over and over again. This is how Chris Weismann took over with Anderson Silva, how Anderson Silva too over Rich Franklin, and how Jon Jones became the king in the light heavyweight devision. There are a few exceptions, but we have a clear pattern.

It's certainly the best fight that can be made at this point in time, and the biggest fight in heavyweight history. Some people may say Jones v Ngannou would be bigger but i think Ngannou lost a little bit of aura with that Anthony Smith KO and honestly think Aspinall would beat Ngannou at this point in their careers. So Jones v. Aspinall is clearly the fight to make.

I would say the biggest fight in history that never happened would have been GSP vs Silva. Both on top of their divisions for years. Both champs. Both in their prime. Both setting records. And they were both doing it at the same time and the UFC dropped the ball there. But super fights really were only made popular way later

Jon, Tom, Francis, Volkov deserves a shot soon I think, hell if you can get Alex up to Heavy to fight somebody and prove he can fight at that weight then you can get him and some others in there. I know that it's just a dream, but a tournament would be nice.

Its the biggest fight right now in ufc under contracts, we as fans have a short memory and are prisoners of the moment. Volk vs. Isalm 1 was bigger (more intrigueing) to me in recent history. in my eyes conor vs khabib is the biggest fight with build up included and what was on the line also.
