That brought back some memories! I spent an absolutely fabulous night at Black Hill Hut after my uni finals in late 1997 with some student friends. I seem to recall it took us around 5 and a half hours up to the hut.
Solid effort Kev! So much great tramping to be done in that area ..Almost as much tramping as there is mud 😂 adds to the fun though. Hope you manage to tick off salmon Biv soon, been meaning to head there myself for a while but was planning to go from the lees valley side
Nice video. Good on you for trying this in one day. Last year I did Salmon Creek from Lees Valley and back to Black Hill in a day and I have to say that I was pretty knackered after that
@@samandkevsoutdooradventures I just walked it as I don't have 4WD. It's an easy walk but a little bit boring. Now I understand why I was told by my friend to "take headphones" on this flat long 4WD track :) You'd have to have a pretty solid, high-clearance 4WD to get to the end of the farm road

Man you guys pack in some big day walks, props to you! That would've been a great overnighter. Good call to keep to schedule. Cheers
Bit off a little bit too much in this instance.

Thanks Patrick. I'll get there soon, but next time will make it an overnighter
That’s a decent day walk, bit of a grunt back up out of Salmon creek lol and there’s a good reason why the hut is tied down 😂
Get a bit windy? Or high chance of being washed away?
@@samandkevsoutdooradventuresVery Windy!

Did you walk or drive down the 4wd track on the Lees Valley side Michal?

@@michalfromhikingisgood3705A normal 4WD is fine if you know what your doing
Good to know. Thanks, Tony. Is it a public access track, or do you need permission from the landowners?
