This is one of the least funded school in NJ. It’s so fortunate they have amazing teachers who are so dedicated to the arts. It maybe sad that not a penny is provided for the production budget but it taught the kids how to be resourceful and if you have the passion, creativity, discipline, anything is possible!
@@jhonny94bravo58 you missed the other dudes comment that he deleted. He was acting like the reason why these kids didn't have a budget was because the teachers were overpaid. I was making the point that teachers get paid very little as it is and school budgets aren't low due to teachers gobbling up all of the money.
Not Only did Ridley Scott and Segourney weaver show what tremendous character they have by taking the time and money to support these wonderfully talented Kids. But Hats off a thousand times to these remarkable teachers who dont just teach lessons from a book , but care enough to involve themselves in teaching life lessons to these Kids ! Way to go we need more like you !
I hope they didn't throw out those costumes. They could compete in cosplay competitions. The creativity on the build of the set, and costumes is amazing!!!

People dont realize how movies are made and yes it is impressive but no. I wouldnt trust people who made an adaptation of original work money to make a professional film. A lot of people disregard the work going into modern movies, basically cause they are higher bugdet.
primevil110872 That’s really nice idea, but film and theater are quite different mediums and have to be approached in different ways because of their respective strengths and limitations, so doing well on stage doesn’t necessarily translate to doing well on film. I’d love to see these kids get a higher budget, new resources, and a larger theater space to work with.
As a movie armour-maker, I just wanted to stop by and say BRAVO. 🏆 Your passion is infectious and your determination actually made me tear-up. It is great to witness someone see a dream through to completion. Many people want to achieve things, but only a select few want them enough. Best wishes to you all... may all your dreams sprout wings. 🚀
From France: I regret not being able to be there. As a great fan of System D creations, this is heartbreaking. But I'm really happy those students made this come true. Guys, you're he most awesome people the fanbase could ever imagine.
someone make a decent recording of this and get Ridley Scott and Fox(now Disney) to sign off on producing blu-rays of this for Kickstarter or Patreon or something. there are those of us not in the US who wants to see this production too~ pretty please~
This is the kind of production I want to be involved in. Bare bones budget, nothing but your wits and ingenuity with everyday objects to get the job done. Bravo!
This sounds really weird, but I wanted to see those Aliens tap dance to the audience or something, right before they kill their prey. A damn musical number-something.
I first learned of this through Adam Savage. Then to hear Ridley Scott and Sigourney Weaver jumped in to help these students just warmed my heart. I was told the play is available to watch online. So I am off to find this. Keep up the great work! Impressed Alien fan
Some of the best, if not the best, art, set, costume design I've seen of a high school play. I would hope the City would warehouse or somehow preserve some of it in a museum somewhere for future posterity. It established a precedent for high school plays in my minds.
I love the creativity displayed, and am thrilled ALIEN was chosen! I hope we get to see more of this production! I can't get enough of the videos and pictures online thus far!
I graduated from this high school, I had Mr. D and I recognized some of students. This is great to see the art department is doing really well, that's awesome sauce
All those props and costumes look amazing. I would not have expected such quality work from no budget and recyclables. Well done! Just goes to show hard work pays off.
This made me cry....I'm trying to figure out why....it's amazing, I would gladly pay $500 a ticket to see this. I loved Alien as a kid and was in drama and all the plays each year for all my years in grade school, high school and then went to film school for college, NYU
These kids and teachers have so much imagination to pull off something like this so well. I hope this leads people to see that the arts are still needed in the education system
This is the kind of thing that I want to work on. A bare bones budget made entirely by people who want to be there, working with only their skills and passion to get by. Love it!
I am a HUGE fan of the Alien series, and especially the original Alien. These AMAZING kids and teachers blew me away! The sets... the props.. the costumes... OUTSTANDING!!!! And almost all out of recycled and discarded materials! Ingenuity at its absolute finest. The problem solving skills required to pull this off will do all of these kids proud later in life. I only wish I could have been there for an actual live performance. perhaps a road show? LOL
Our Newsroom here in Ireland was talking about it, with it making Irish, British and European news headlines too. Silly season stuff, perhaps... still, looks like they did an awesome job - think Everyone is looking for a video online of the production!
This will go down in Alien franchise history, I really hope atleast half or more of them manage to get big in Hollywood and break the mold by doing so much with so little proving that creativity is better then just bloated budgets.
I wished that I could be there to see it. I live in Australia, so yeah 😔 As a fan of these films it's inspiring to see that you have all shown dedication and creative passion to bring a classic to life. That I thank you all for and I wish you all the best.
I would have loved to see how it adapted to the stage as this is one of those movies that is very atmospheric, and that cant always be trasfered to the stage. But for Weaver and Scott to fund a encor performance it must have been amazing.
That is AMAZING. So proud of them. "The american dream doesnt exist" my ass. Work hard and you shall be rewarded. I hope this school gets more funding, they certainly earned it and deserve it.
