As well as everything from episode reviews, breaking news, cast and crew interviews, detailed ship breakdowns, special events, LIVE discussions with you, our great community, in depth discussions with the ships creators and all of the NEW (and original) Trek content are discussed in a format that points out the good and bad in ALL of Trek. Because none of it is exactly perfect...and we here at Trekyards LOVE Trek in all of its forms even when it disappoints or makes us mad. So if you wanna discuss Trek this is your one stop shop for all of it! We have a fantasic community of Trekyardians that we know and love and that join us on a regular basis to chat with us about the thing they love the most...Star Trek.

Like the great Purple Prince once sang:
'I never meant to cause (& effect) you any sorrow'
'I never meant to cause (& effect) you any pain'
'I only wanted to one time to see Data laughing'
'I only wanted to see you'
'Laughing on the PurplePrise'
'PurplePrise, PurplePrise!'
The Purple-D comes from a timeline where the 20th century "artist" Prince successfully brought about a true "revolution" to power, resulting in love, justice...and neo-18th century fashion (called "Rococo" wear).
This is my new canon for that timeline
The shape of the Deflector Dish makes me think this is the STO Galaxy Class model - that has Six-Footer feel for everything but the front of the secondary hull.
So not only did the Enterprise D survive in the purple universe, but no one mentions the destruction of it in the prime? Lower decks is set after the destruction as Riker is captaining the Titan so this would seem to be a thing to bring up
Well the D has been gone for many many years now, the E only has a few years left ha.
@@SGUDistantHope E only has a few years before it's not Worfs fault event.
@@Dmann4Christjust adds more questions then answers 😂 I don’t think the writers even knew what they were doing
It is a fun thought if the Enterprise D was actually the Enterprise E and was launched at the same time... where does one insert the A,B,C, or D in the time line.
Perhaps one of the Refits could look like Strange New Worlds Enterprise & could become the Enterprise A, then the Motion Picture would be the B, the Excelsior class the C and the Ambassador class the D ?
Or there could be a base Ambassador Class Enterprise C and when it goes missing or is destroyed the D becomes the Fancy one from the painting & the E being the Galaxy Class.
Imagine if it said "C" and let that thought blow your mind as well...
I think it’s the TAS reference due to the one artist being colorblind.
There was a tiny purple enterprise that came with the playmates q figure.
It's the Jimmy Hendrix enterprise people
Let’s make sure that history never forgets the name Enterprise.
- Capt. Jean-Luc Picard
Enterprise built by the Dominion 😱😆
Ha!...oh no!
Prince's Enterprise
Purple data was great
Did anyone get that this is a reference to the miniature d that came with the q figure from the old playmates toy line?
the myriad of possible stories and timelines and universes this sets up and sadly shall never be seen again by the writers pen, is immense. The Fan Fiction bet it explodes with this new universe.
This is the BEST the Enterprise has ever looked; no doubt!! 🙂
Could be captained by Galvatron and piloted by Skeletor. 😀
Than you!
@@SGUDistantHope "Than you"? 🙂
@@subraxas For the superthanks :D

Not gonna lie, i kinda like the Purple-D
It does kinda work!
There's no reason to just assume that TNG's single impluse drive being active is the default. Just hypothesizing here, but it's possible that during TNG, the standard operating procedure (SOP) was just to utilize the primary hull drive. Could be a couple of reasons why that would be the case. This could streamline maintenance for instance, allowing just procedural checks to be conducted a few times a week or month on the Saucer drives, while the focus of the engineering crews was exclusive to maintaining the primary drive units in the neck.
It could also be that later technological advances, or perhapes hardware configuration updates to the design allowed for or flat out made it beneficial for all 3 drives to be utilized, which could also offer benefits, such as greater efficiency with 3 units operating at a markedly lower throttle and could achieve the same or greater performance than just the 1 at full throttle, thus reducing ware and tear. Plus, you have to bare in mind, these drive assemblies contain the ships fusion reactors (minimum of 6 reactors per drive, possibly 8 per suacer drive), and there could be alot reasons you would want as many of those reactors active, pumping out power for auxilary power supply. For instance, that's more power for shields and weapons, intertial dampers, ect.
With Starfleet heading into wartime operations in DS9, with the Galaxies there being the first time we saw all 3 drives active, Starfleet would have probably wanted to maximize power output/supply aboard ship. Plus having 3 active drives surely provides not just greater acceleration, but also greater manauverability at those higher speeds. Have to keep up with or lead those warfleets. The Galaxy-class being Starfleet's battering ram after all. Remember, its pretty standard practice during wartime, you run your warships at higher and or maximum power for maximum readiness, while durring peacetime, you don't necessarily have to and have the luxury of slowboating it. Reduces ware and tear during interwar periods, so that your major capital assets are ready for dire times.
I was not to surprised seeing Enterprise D show up or E 😮🎉
The purple D flew into the fissure
So If I am correct the universe from the purpleprise comes from it is still active so in that universe the Enterpise E still doesn’t exist because the D didn’t end up getting destroyed
The USS Enterplum D
I wonder if this was a reference to everything being pink in TAS
Question is did the Star Drive section come from the Purplecuse.
Clearly, the Picard in the purple universe was smarter and went back before Sauron could launch his plan, as well as save his family from the fire at Château Picard, just preventing the D from being destroyed….or is it the P?
A smart Picard? I don’t think that’s possible in any dimension…
Or Riker was smart enough to modulate the shields against the Duras Sisters and blew them out of the sky. There's a lot of ways the Ent-D could've survived. But it was those producers that wanted it gone.
Our Crusher was smart enough to give Geordi the day off work after returning from being tortured on the Klingon ship for a couple of days.
@@mccooeychris Nah. Dr. Pulaski is probably still CMO of the Enterprise in that universe. She was actually intelligent and would’ve ordered Geordi to rest. Plus she definitely would’ve had his visor checked for any interference.
Looks like a Decepticon.
Look up : Toy Lemon Tree LT-03 Shockwave MP Action Figure Purple Potato ( Yes it really is called that).
As for all 3 Engines being on, I think it might be an option they can choose to use on the earlier production models but don't and the later models (Dominion Wars hulls) have less interior space for crew quarters and more for the maintenance and use of the saucer's impulse engines and so they can be used more often and usually were.
So any hull after #13 would likely have all 3 engines on all the time.
Seems like a minor oversight on the show that they never thought to turn them on.. but they wouldn't have until someone "changed" the specs then after that I think there is no issue at all.. just it is best to keep it mostly 1 engine when showing an early ship in an early setting.
But I can't say it bothers me it is easy to head canon
The Enterprise-P
I don't remember the other views from the show.
We do our bit to bring the best stuff to you!
I'd like to the Enterprise=D show up in Lower Decks. Too bad it didn't.
😊
I miss the days when Hollywood had clean drugs for them to do. Ugh.
.....❤❤❤❤❤......
The purple universe, I still prefer that over the Kelvin-verse (or Edsel-verse for those in the know)
Na the Kelvin timeline is superior is every way. No one likes the purple timeline
@@everettjohnson9374Kelvin timeline is some of the most godawful shit ever made.
@@Woopaloops you say that but its also one of the most beautiful. Cant deny it has style.
@@sammireyoung No. I absolutely can. It looks like shit, too.
