This is what playing at the correct temp is all about. Beautiful.
No 90 miles an hour with this guy playing,, lovely timing and all clear notes, also nice gtr backing..
Great to hear someone actually playing at a normal pace for a change, don't know why everyone nowadays feel that tunes have to be played at a hundred miles an hour .
Great playing John explains why your champion
Ah they played very fast back a 100 years ago !
Great tunes, played at the right tempo. no need for the frantic nonsense we often suffer. Such talent. Thank you
Ah they played very fast back a hundred years ago!
A champion through and through Lovely tempo sound and tone Thrilling to listen to Up Fermanagh
Beautiful playing. Tunes were played the way they should be played - perfect timing. First tune was pure magic. Well done
Back in the 1920s they played them faster
"""John, as an old hand playing and listning to tradional music , I implore you dont be tempted to change the tempo of your tunes they are perfect ,beautiful timing ."""
Totally agree...
100 oer cent

Great to hear good melodic playing coming back to prominence after some wanderings ...music to listen to at a nice pace...fair play to this young man. love the sound of the red box... it's not ALL about dancing! Paddy O'Brien , Joe Burke and John Regan would approve!
That's just fantastic playing compulsive listening

Eileen i see u've a great taste for music, do you not follow Madden, Mc Comiskey,Dolan, Conneely@ Casey they are absolutely brilliant musicians/ Catskills Irish.🌎
@@tonymccann8853 Hiya Tony I love the music i just listened now for the past hour they are mighty..ive see Jodie Madden in concert here in Connecticut...RUclips is a great pastime..
@@tonymccann8853 I remember Felix Dolan RIP as a child listening to him on the radio in County Clare..my Sister lived near Felix & Family I had the pleasure of meeting him many times..He was one of a kind down to earth a true Gentleman..
@@eileennestor9274 Eileen, Clare is up there with the top county's for Irish traditional music, the Kilfanora ceili band have been a outstanding band over the year's.🌎
@@tonymccann8853 Clare has great musicians..what I love is there's a lot of young musicians all over taking up the music. But you think you heard the best & there's someone that comes along thatsgreat. were blessed with such a variety of musicians..

Beautiful box playing + trimming. congratulations..🎻 John has Joe in his sight.🌍
Tony McCann Joe would be finished them and onto the next set by now 😀
@@joefagan9335 yes if John was playing in reel time.🌍

And ANOTHER All Ireland Senior champion, that's 4 since 2008, all inside a 20 mile radius of each other: Darren Breslin, Chris Maguire, Michael Curran and now John in 2018 to follow his 15-18 title in 2016
@@TRADTOONS And they all play with such a feel for the music......their music teachers are to be commended
Great stuff mity tunes john👍🏻
great !!!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, lovely stuff altogether...
very well played sir.wow wicked!!!
Tune Names
High Level (hornpipe)
The Reservation (reel)
Nervous Man (reel)
John Dwyer's (reel) (John Brennan's also sounds very similar; Cormac Begley's album contains a John Dwyer's that sounds a lot like this)
My word, grand and all that means.
Great playing. Especially good to hear that first reel, a Bily McComiskey composition called "The Controversial"
t.p. Winch that’s the high level horn pipe not the contreversal
@@pathussey2947 Pat---I was referring to the first reel they play, not the first tune.
THE GOLDEN EAGLE THE FIRST ONE , A GREAT TUNE
.... except that it's "The High Level" hornpipe.
you're right
And credit also to Gerry McMahon on guitar, rock steady rhythm with standard chords, none of this open tuning with random show-off syncopations - happy to support the music he is there to support
Oh my...talk about playing the Cork out of a bottle...sweet....
Best 'Nervous man'' out there??
Upyahboysyah!!! 😀
Great timing, tone, and expression!!!! The very best of accompaniment. Anyone know the names of the last two reels?
The last one is John dwyers
The first is nervous man
The first reel (third tune) is The Controversial.
They are called "The Nervous Man" and "John Dwyer's". I transcribed them from John's Playing a while ago. Here's sheet music for it: niss-ole-carstensen.de/?page_id=769
того кто впервые слышит эту музыку ,она бьёт сразу, наповал, и это уже навсегда, до конца. Есть, правда, и такие которым она не нравится, но это полные идиоты!
The accordion players have the best tunes??
My dad’s music
Any pointers to play this instrument? Thanks.
What's the trouble with the sound? Couldn't hear the musos as well as the audience. Lovely tunes though.
If I closed my eyes I'd swear it was Joe Burke. ..
W
Is this a B/C button accordion. Thanks.
Farewell speedsters frantic to finish first .
Anyone got a name for the first tune?
That's the High Level Hornpipe
Correct suffer
is it a button accordion or a melodeon
This is the former, a Button accordion has two rows of buttons, melodeon has one row.

why oh why the guitar...........it's not a folk song.......and completely destroys the rhythmic pulse - what a shame
That's Gerry McMahon for ya
Think you have got that wrong, unless you are a renowned expert on Irish Traditional Music but I have never heard of you!
@@TRADTOONS it doesn't take a musical genius to know it doesn't work. I've played with Gerry before and he's a lovely man but his guitar playing isn't the best
It's good stuff Jay, don't be jealous.
