Thanks for the great review. The longer I am in this hobby, the more I am appreciating quartz watches. I had no idea this watch existed. I personally think it’s great, and it’s even within my price range. Thanks again!
As an owner of a Pitzmann II and III, both watches I enjoy a lot, my biggest criticism of this New quartz Overture: 1. Case is way too derivative of the Grand Seiko 44GS 2. The round hour marker idicies gets lost in the circle dial pattern making legibility at a glance a real pain
Superb video and summary of the issues. If they listen and iron out the issues you've highlighted it will be a winner for sure. Great to see something so "out there" in design 😊
I’m with you Peter; that dial is wayyy to busy and distracting to be able to read the time. But, a high accuracy quartz movement, is very interesting. Thanks for sharing my friend!
Thank you. I had wondered which was more beneficial for shoulder injuries. Ive been doing passive hangs 3X daily for 50” for three weeks now, so I’ll move onto active hangs.
Love seeing a microbrand get into HAQ. This watch is so close to what I would consider perfect. The only changes I would make are a date and a dial more akin to their prior models
Wow, this is nice! I would say it's almost perfect. I do hope Pitzmann takes in all your suggested refinements, Peter. I can see myself getting one once those improvements are in. I would add that maybe tapering the bracelet to 16 mm along with proportionally doing that for the clasp would make this watch better and more comfortable to use. I also wouldn't mind seeing an automatic version of this, perhaps using the SW300 with the updated 56 hour PR. Having optional plain and fume dials would also work wonders.
Thanks for the review Mr. Kotsa, it’s a really lovely watch, shame to hear about the finishing issues though. I’d like to ask: I know you are quite fond of Chronographs, have you seen the new Lorier Olympia? It’s a fully automatic chronograph under 14mm thick for under 1000$ using the SE88 movement; I’d figure you might fancy a look. Anyway have a nice day, thanks again for the review. Cheers!
@ hopefully you’ll be able to get the watch on the channel. I don’t know if Lorier sends out a lot of units for review, but maybe you’ll be able to a get a unit in. Have a nice day, cheers!
It’s an interesting novelty watch. I like that Pitzmann has used quartz here. It wouldn’t get a lot of my wrist time but overall the watch looks good and seems well-designed. I’d really consider buying it. My only hesitation is noise around the brand’s customer service.
Will not try to return it, so I cannot say how they would handle that. But I changed the delivery address, asked them to adjust it to my wrist size and had a question about the specs. Each time the answered in due time, gave all information and acted as asked. So, my experience concerning customer support was very good.
I'm trying to recall any other microbrand with a HAQ watches available in their lineup and nothing comes to my mind. Hopefully you'll manage to sort out these sharp edges, and you have a strong contender to fight with anti-quartz snobbery.
Wow, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Went straight to the website assuming they'd have a normal dial without the stupid pattern because it would be madness for them not to. Nope. All colourways have it!
I like it and it’s nice to see microbrands doing something different. The only thing on the negative side is the price, I’m in the UK and after import taxes and delivery it becomes quite expensive.
I think aesthetically they've once again done great. The inspiration from the Celebration is distant at best for me, whereas I see the urban elegance of diffracting light in raindrops on a window. In contrast, I'm not sure what Rolex was going for in its dials. In your footage it would seem as if the colours blobs have some texture to them, which is wonderful. The overall styling of the watch is just a little sporty for me and I also don't tend to go for quartz even if long duration and precision mitigate some of my lack of connection with the technology. The sharp finishing is definitely a noteworthy point of critique and a pity that has happened. Hopefully they'll be able to rectify that in any new batches.
on paper, specs are amazing. With that accuracy, it would be nice to have an option to sync with atomic clocks :) The dial is a point of contention. If that's your potential GADA/one watch collection watch (and it looks like it might be!), are you happy with a playful dial? I like crazy stuff but for my 'forever watches' I find myself gravitating towards black/plain dials that fit in every situation.
Seeing that dial for the first time, I thought to myself…the pill-poppers watch 😏 the case resembles that of a Grand Seiko 44GS too, just no where near as well finished.
Interesting watch but dial design that will appeal more to design fans than people like me who like (or need) to know what day it is and the precise time without being disturbed. In addition, Seiko produced these hyper-precise calibers half a century ago, what a feat from ETA!! The same with a monochrome dial and date, and a little cheaper, I'll buy it. But not there. Thanks Pete for this original review.😉👍
Got the watch for a few days. Really love the design, especially the dial. Very high value looking thing. Quite sparkly in fact. Indeed a conversation starter. Couldn’t imagine a better watch for a night out at a cocktail bar. Also don’t get Rolex celebration vibes. Rather unique design imo. BUT not for for everyday wear because of the sharper edges at both bracelet and case. It’s quite a pity cause everything else is fantastic.
I love the bold design of the face, but it doesn't quite do it for me. I also have a Sinn quartz, so I don't 'need' a second one. Great-looking watch though.
I really like deployant clasps, but when they fail to chamfer the edges it really does adversely impact the comfortability of the watch. Considering their usual quality and attention to detail, I'm surprised that Pitzmann overlooked this problem.
Specs look great, not very legible is what struck me straight away. Pity about the clap finish as the mechanics of the adjustment look really good with the push button activation.,Quartz makes sense & kudos for using an ETA instead of a cheaper option. Not sure if people buying this watch would be bothered about high accuracy though, what do you reckon Pete? Which A league team out of interest? Cheers brother.
Been waiting for this one. Thanks. Kind of disappointed with my Pitzmann 3 Chronograph due to lackluster regulation. This one, though, offers much with its high accuracy quartz mechanism.
I respect your preference, but I feel like quartz watches are very underrepresented in the microbrand world and I would love to see at least a few more.
Thanks for the great review. The longer I am in this hobby, the more I am appreciating quartz watches. I had no idea this watch existed. I personally think it’s great, and it’s even within my price range. Thanks again!
I like the High Accuracy Quartz and slim profile. Thanks Peter
My pleasure
Quartz at all levels are high accuracy by comparison to auto.
@ correct 👍

I agree, excellent little Gada piece
Very nice review. I hope they fix these issues and make a plain dial version for boring people like me.
agree with both your points. up the QC and plain dials please!
The dial is too busy for me, but having a high accuracy Quartz movement in our collections in makes sense
I’m with you Peter; that dial is wayyy to busy and distracting to be able to read the time.
But, a high accuracy quartz movement, is very interesting.

Great review on watch. Impressed with the ETA quartz movement, reminds me of the Bulova Precisionist movement.
If this one had a date, I would've picked one up in a heartbeat.
I agree with your points but it is really a gorgeous watch. Thanks for sharing..

This watch especially because of the high accuracy should have a jumping hour hand for adjusting to dst or travel between time zones

I love my quartz watches… sometimes auto/mechanical watches are not very practical
Peter, you're the best. Greets from Germany - Markus
Thanks Marcus, greetings from Melbourne my friend
That last 2% can make or break a watch. It is still a beautiful watch! (Lovely photography!). Let be the movement as well.
It's a stunning watch

I like the brand, I like the case shape, I like the bracelet, I like the finishing but the dial does nothing for me 🤷🏻♂️

Pill poppers?
Never even thought of that 😮😂

If there would be a white (dial) and black (numerals) variant, it would have been an instant buy for me.
Pitzmann Fifty Photons 😂
Hi ! I have a $80 Pagani Design Speedmaster Homage with a Seiko VK63 Quartz Movement , 6 Months 0 sec. I feel lucky with it
THat is a lovely watch, its a shame about the comfort factor letting it down

I think a change of spring bars and maybe a bit of fine sandpaper to that clasp can go a long way
I love the bold design of the face, but it doesn't quite do it for me.
Me too, simple fix imo 👍
It’s a bit of good fun.
They need to make this in an automatic with normal colored dials. The case and bracelet look amazing.
I have a. Pitzmann 2, great watch. I thought it was pills om the dial. Still I like it.
Specs look great, not very legible is what struck me straight away. Went to see Melbourne City 👍
@ was that the derby? A bit one sided?
@ yes, very one sided indeed
Maybe don't say a watch is legible in all lighting scenarios and then list legibility as a gripe.
Hey Pete hope you're well pal 🙏
You too bro
If I was a chemist it would be a no brainer.
Would like tone down and lendable dial
The hour hand gets lost a little at 7 o'clock.
Review the new San Martin enamel dial watch, if you want to see a really amazing watch.
Man, i am dissapointed, the dots on the dial are not glowing. 😂
Case shape is a little bit like the 44GS case.
Yep, I see that too..
Shades of the watch with all the little ghosts on it.
Interesting look and effect, thats for sure
They could have just kept that text on the caseback instead of the dial. Makes the dial toooo busy
Thanks for the review Peter and Happy Birthday! 🎂
Thanks Greg, one year older and hopefully one year wiser too 😊
@@PeterKotsa It's the birthday that stopped the nation :P
Hahaha...did you put any bets on?...I was under the house most of the day drilling holes 😂
@@PeterKotsa Nope. Packed a Scout trailer for a Camp was about as exciting at it got here.
Been waiting for this one.
Thanks.
Kind of disappointed with my Pitzmann 3 Chronograph due to lackluster regulation.

"Is that a Rolex celebration dial? Oh wait nevermind."
The link to the watch (comments section) is leading to a 404
Ive updated it..thanks Erik 👍
the dial is hideous in my opinion. It looks incredibly difficult to read due to how busy it is.
Way too busy dial. Novelty will ware off the second day.
Nice watch, but needs a mechanical movement.
I respect your preference, but I feel like quartz watches are very underrepresented in the microbrand world and I would love to see at least a few more.
Boohoohoo
I disagree. The movement is a feature not a bug. There’s plenty of automatic watches available elsewhere if you don’t like quartz.
Not into quartz.
The name of the brand sounds like armpit to me for some reason 😂. Dont like it.
Such a convoluted way to review a simple product, got dizzy from all the double negatives in the script
Not going off any script, just spoke my heart and experience
Cheers
It’s another homage from Rolex(what else)!😳🙄
Wtf is that
Quartz lmao. What a waste
Nothing wrong with quartz.
@cdtroyer1 nothing right with it
Great watch for the price!
