I am honestly more curious and fascinated about his story because, if I'm not mistaken, he has the most record of overclocking considering that per his report, he's had multiple overclocking episodes. In fact, his overclocking rating is already severe. Everytime he overclocks, he is closer to becoming a tacet discord. I hope we get his companion story soon!

From what we got to see of him in cbt 1 he is suppose to be extremely powerful in the lore. He was suppose to be in the base story but they cut him from the final game. In cbt 1 tacet discords were scared af of calcharos forte. It may because they see him as some freaken since he is basically part tacet discord due to how severe his overclocking condition is currently at.
It's basically quantum physics but over-buffed, the nature of every elements can be explained with some science knowledges, only havoc is the hardest to make sense of. Fun fact, retroact rain is based on real life experiment with soundwave, there are even more interesting experiments with soundwave.

30:18 in the last act after we fought with the dreamless Jiyan mentioned that the manifestation of war like dreamless shouldn't run away because they're a manifestation of war, but when rover managed to almost defeat them they flee. which mean that they're capable of making a rational decision even though their nature are the manifestation of war.
Shorekeeper's awakening by Rover most likely refers to her forte abilities because of two key points. One, her Liberation line "Astral Modulation," and Rover being dubbed the Astral Modulator. Plus, the lore point that Shorekeeper's purpose was to take over Rover's role while they looked for answers elsewhere.
The power/magic system physiologically affecting the characters remind me of an artist called Monstergarden. In his world building project magic has a transformative affect. Mages go through a procress called Manamorphosis that the more they use a spell type the more they mutate to adapt/adjust. EX: Fire mages developing vents to discharge excess heat. Really cool stuff. Also keep up the good work on these lore videos.

Okay so I have one correction to make. Mortefi's scales are from overclocking not his awakening. It says so in his resonance report. Other than that this is a very impressive overview. I'm impressed at how much research was done here. What I want to know is weather Shorekeeper is an artificial resonator or if she counts as something else entirely. After all she is an artificial life form. Also pretty please make more lore videos. It's always fun to see other peoples interpretations of the lore
Yeah Mortefi was a tough one! There's some extra info about him in his developer's notes page... to me it read like his scales are a feature of his Forte and overclocking has just caused them to expand across his body... but I could definitely be way off. Also note that not ALL Resonators can actually sense frequencies/vibrations all around them. Some are able to do so due to their Resonance Abilities such as Yangyang as she resonates with airflow. Chixia states she senses nothing at all. Rover is actually one of these people, likely because the thing Rover resonates with is sound itself as implied by their character skills (and note that EVERYTHING is now sound/frequencies, so Rover can resonate with anything, which was how they got Havoc attribute, they resonated with the resonance energy in the area they were fighting, which was foreshadowed when Rover accidently resonated with the TD Jiyan was fighting previously) This ability was instead SHOWN rather than told, there are only two instances where Rover mentions it (that clip you showed and in Zhezhi's quest). Rover sensed Crownless when the Tacet Field was still dormant, Rover sensed that they were being followed twice in 1.0. Rover sensed someone nearly overclocking in the nearby area in Zhezhi's quest, Rover sensed the incoming TDs in the first cutscene of 1.3 story. Its subtle, but its there.
I definitely agree about Rover (even some of their skill names are sound-based) However, if you take a look at the item descriptions of Basic Resonance Potions, they mention that the way they work is to "enhance a resonator's frequency perception ability". So we can infer that resonators do indeed have the ability to perceive frequencies, since it would need to exist for it to be improved Coupled with the scientist mentioning that resonators' perceptions are more sensitive and making a sound device for "ordinary people" specifically, we can at least be sure that resonators can sense what she needs machinery for, as otherwise the machines would be for everyone In the next bit I was careful to say "I would imagine" for frequencies, since the story hasn't clarified the scope -- while the potions make it clear that resonators can detect frequencies, I can only really speculate about whether resonators can sense everything nearby or whether they can only sense a certain range of frequencies (such as the ones within their resonance spectrum pattern) 😄 Sorry, that answer got long fast lol

That said, like the other comment mentioned, it seems the BGM is a bit too loud on certain parts, usually when the BGM is building up. It feels like your voice isn't resonating with BGM, and interfering with each other instead 😌 For me personally, around 3:40, or 7:35 - 7:50, and 11:15 - 12:22 are the most noticeable, but it might be just me (or my phone's speaker).

Honestly your video dropped in a perfect moment for me, cus I've been trying to find something common between all the resonators that have their Tacet Mark pulsing and fluctuating when Resonance Liberation energy is filling up and full. I don't have anything concrete yet, but I don't believe it's merely cosmetic or aesthetic.
Amazing video! Ive been curious enough to seek out some of this info on my own but this is so damn comprehensive and much appreciated. I really like Wuwa lore and its broader implications of where it's going but as you iterated multiple times its not yet fully explored or explained. Which is frustrating cause many mechanics are vital to current story progression but are glossed over or hand waved away. I imagine for a casual story enjoyer it can come off as endless techno babble and i think the devs need to do a more thorough job explaining mechanics. A better, broader audience understanding will allow character moments and story events to hold so much more weight.

Very good video, not only is it a lot of information well put together, you do a good job reading between the lines and interpreting because I did read a lot of Shorekeeper's story and even then struggled to understand some things I always did think that "resonating" essentially meant their frequencies can resonate with surrounding ones to become strong enough to manifest or transform into something else. If we go by literal definition pulled from google "the reinforcement or prolongation of sound by reflection from a surface or by the synchronous vibration of a neighbouring object". Because the laws of physics in Solaris seem all wonky as everything is made up of frequencies, I think that potentially you could recreate anything with frequencies, like building something on a molecular level I guess it's because frequencies defy the, by now, arbitrary laws of physics(since all but law of gravity do not REALLY hold true for it) and because it is directly affected by people's consciousness and emotion that makes it very difficult to research and so they can't just create anything they want easily
Its clearing so much my confuse. thank u. i really like the second awakening thing. its bring so much possibilty to the plot.. maybe some extra ordinary threnodian (have human personality) or conflict with other dragon (i mean like Jue).
My theory for the MC is that the rover is someone with a perfect pitch (can resonate with any frequency) without the relying on personality or factors like the other resonators. Rover lost his/her memories due to overclocking (unknown accident) leading to the MC in a state of “reverse frequency” (clue from the first cutscene where the MC is inverted when arriving on Solaris-3). The rover’s memories will comeback along with the journey where he/she slowly resonating back to Solaris frequency (like a radio, the “battlepass”)

the idea of "frequencies" in the game actually makes me think a LOT about the String Theory. The core idea of the String Theory is that everything in the universe, particles, rays and so on, are all the way the vibration of strings get expressed. That way, everything in the universe would be made of the same substance at core, but since they carry different properties (vibrations), they are expressed differently. Since we haven't found the "gravtiation particle" yet, string theory mathematically makes sense and could be an explanation, but this theory has in the past 10 years come to be less popular.
So basically its based on real scientific studies of reality. They mixed fantasy with real rules of reality. Things like this make you wonder if this could be possible irl for humanity in the distant future
We could enter the painted world because the two forte invilved were so similar. now in illusive realm we see Rover joining anyones forte with their own for tremendus power.
Damn, the lore and world is actually quite cool. Problem is that roughly 80% of this I had no idea about, despite not skipping a single cutscene. WuWa needs to improve their storytelling a lot and make it less confusing, although the localization team could also just be inept.

Very informative video, you did amazing job with gathering what the game has currently drop-fed us, regarding the rules behind the powers. Honestly your video dropped in a perfect moment for me, cus I've been trying to find something common between all the resonators that have their Tacet Mark pulsing and fluctuating when Resonance Liberation energy is filling up and full. I don't have anything concrete yet, but I don't believe it's merely cosmetic or aesthetic.
Amazing video! Ive been curious enough to seek out some of this info on my own but this is so damn comprehensive and much appreciated. I really like Wuwa lore and its broader implications of where it's going but as you iterated multiple times its not yet fully explored or explained. Which is frustrating cause many mechanics are vital to current story progression but are glossed over or hand waved away. I imagine for a casual story enjoyer it can come off as endless techno babble and i think the devs need to do a more thorough job explaining mechanics. A better, broader audience understanding will allow character moments and story events to hold so much more weight.

Thank you for simplifying the lore of resonators. I won't lie when i first played the game i skipped a lot of the story at the start. But overtime i became more invested and interested in the characters and lore.

Very good video, not only is it a lot of information well put together, you do a good job reading between the lines and interpreting because I did read a lot of Shorekeeper's story and even then struggled to understand some things
I always did think that "resonating" essentially meant their frequencies can resonate with surrounding ones to become strong enough to manifest or transform into something else. If we go by literal definition pulled from google "the reinforcement or prolongation of sound by reflection from a surface or by the synchronous vibration of a neighbouring object".
Because the laws of physics in Solaris seem all wonky as everything is made up of frequencies, I think that potentially you could recreate anything with frequencies, like building something on a molecular level
I guess it's because frequencies defy the, by now, arbitrary laws of physics(since all but law of gravity do not REALLY hold true for it) and because it is directly affected by people's consciousness and emotion that makes it very difficult to research and so they can't just create anything they want easily

My theory for the MC is that the rover is someone with a perfect pitch (can resonate with any frequency) without the relying on personality or factors like the other resonators. Rover lost his/her memories due to overclocking (unknown accident) leading to the MC in a state of “reverse frequency” (clue from the first cutscene where the MC is inverted when arriving on Solaris-3). The rover’s memories will comeback along with the journey where he/she slowly resonating back to Solaris frequency (like a radio, the “battlepass”)

the idea of "frequencies" in the game actually makes me think a LOT about the String Theory.
The core idea of the String Theory is that everything in the universe, particles, rays and so on, are all the way the vibration of strings get expressed.
That way, everything in the universe would be made of the same substance at core, but since they carry different properties (vibrations), they are expressed differently.
Since we haven't found the "gravtiation particle" yet, string theory mathematically makes sense and could be an explanation, but this theory has in the past 10 years come to be less popular.

Damn, the lore and world is actually quite cool. Problem is that roughly 80% of this I had no idea about, despite not skipping a single cutscene. WuWa needs to improve their storytelling a lot and make it less confusing, although the localization team could also just be inept.
