I remember sitting at districts, during your seminar, you spoke so passionately, angrily, about these issues. I remember I asked you for help on songwriting, and you told me about this song, the lyrics still in the making and not quite ready to reach melody yet. I feel not only honored to have met you, but to say that your words in not only revolt against this corruption, but those few words you said to me about songs, have kept me going. You said "look at anything, and make it your own. Change and shape it to the ideas in your mind. Before you know it, you've created something beautiful". And while others might call me an edgy wannabe teenage poet, the things I've created are important to me, and someday I hope to be like you, using those words to make a change. You're an inspiration to me and many many others. The world is a little less dark with you guys in it.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it... Lord I pray that you would please reach these ones, stuck captive and imprisoned. Lord you say in your word that you came to set the captives free, in every way that whom the son sets free is free indeed. You as the song sings they don't always know your name. But you know theirs. You Promise in your word that in the last days you would find those who were not seeking you. That you would make those who were not a people a people. would you please do that for every one of these lost ones father. I ask that you would heal them in every way also supernaturally, no mental or emotional or physical ailments or prisons left on or in them. That they would feel the sun light on their faces and the SON in there hearts and inner most beings. That you would restore everything he enemy has stolen from them in this hour. And that you would forgive me, forgive us who are to self absorbed at times. That we do not notice the trafficking and slavery in out own nations. Please tare down the strongholds of the wicked. In Jesus name Amen.
Precious girl from the countryside the only daughter of a farmer's bride So much to fear, so much to hide and she hides She's resigned it seems and exhausted too She's got memories of a dream that got lost an route But her eyes still gleam from across the room I write a love song for a prostitute Sunlight, sunlight on her face, on her face And her hair falls over her shoulder She's so elegant as if she was older I was there on the day that they sold her While she went away where they told her And she prays to You in the issan rain She prayed but she never knew Your name She prayed to You but you never came She prays still but it still stays the same Sunlight, sunlight on her face, on her face Maybe I lost myself in this venture I can drink more but I can't quench thirst I can knock on the door but I can't enter I'm not free anymore if she's indentured She prays to You in the issan rain She prayed but she never knew Your name She prayed to You but You never came She prays still but it still stays the same Sunlight, sunlight on her face, on her face Alabaster perfume on your feet from her hair She's the last in the room and the first to care She held you at the tomb with the dew in the air Cruel spear in your side on the hill she was there On the wall with the spies under pale moon hiden there by her side in the back of the room She's a child and a bride in Sahara dune She's a daughter of Syria and Camaroon From the streets of Brazil to the hills of Thailand On the bullet strewn fields of Uganda sand She's maybe fifteen. She's american She's praying are you listening Do you understand? Sunlight, sunlight on her face, on her face

Precious girl from the countryside
the only daughter of a farmer's bride
So much to fear, so much to hide
and she hides
She's resigned it seems
and exhausted too
She's got memories of a dream
that got lost an route
But her eyes still gleam from across the room
I write a love song for a prostitute
Sunlight, sunlight
on her face, on her face
And her hair falls over her shoulder
She's so elegant as if she was older
I was there on the day that they sold her
While she went away where they told her
And she prays to You in the issan rain
She prayed but she never knew Your name
She prayed to You but you never came
She prays still but it still stays the same
Sunlight, sunlight
on her face, on her face
Maybe I lost myself in this venture
I can drink more but I can't quench thirst
I can knock on the door but I can't enter
I'm not free anymore if she's indentured
She prays to You in the issan rain
She prayed but she never knew Your name
She prayed to You but You never came
She prays still but it still stays the same
Sunlight, sunlight
on her face, on her face
Alabaster perfume on your feet from her hair
She's the last in the room and the first to care
She held you at the tomb with the dew in the air
Cruel spear in your side on the hill she was there
On the wall with the spies under pale moon
hiden there by her side in the back of the room
She's a child and a bride in Sahara dune
She's a daughter of Syria and Camaroon
From the streets of Brazil to the hills of Thailand
On the bullet strewn fields of Uganda sand
She's maybe fifteen. She's american
She's praying are you listening
Do you understand?
Sunlight, sunlight
on her face, on her face
