Why We Remixed an Album!

- Ep 44 - 'Welcome To The World' our third album was written quickly back in the non-stop club show days of 2015!
As with the writing, recording was done quickly due to the financial situation at the time, money was tight and therefore so was studio time. 10 days was all we had to record and mix. Though unlike the writing where the lack of time was beneficial, we always felt like this restriction let us down while mixing, and just a couple more days focussing on the mix would have truly given the album justice.
In 2023, we decided to give ourselves those days. In this podcast, we talk a bit about the process and why we decided to give this album a bit of TLC x

Thats cool of you to say 🙏 we really didn’t wanna go over the top, and ruin what made it what it is, but we wanted to give it the time we would have had in the first place to really make some better decisions with it, its tasteful but obvious i think, looking forward to your reaction haha Baz
Interested to listen to the new mix as through some sound systems the vocals got drowned out on some of the tracks on that album :) All the things you talk about in the video are spot on

This is the only one missing from my CD collection (Got it on Vinyl!) so I'll wait for the new and improved sooper dooper version :)

Hand on heart I've rarely noticed any big differences from remixes/remasters. Then again bonus tracks are always welcome. Always loved that picture in front of the loco on the rear of that album sleeve - I hope that can be retained
Well you will defo hear a difference with this, i hope haha id love to know either way like, like we said we recorded this start to end in 12 days, ridiculous really, we did not wanna butcher it at all, but wanted to see what else we had put down at the time that was maybe overlooked in the mixing process, its more than a re mix and master job, its a tastefully re-edited edition i suppose for want of a better word haha. Hope you like it anyway, we just wanted to afford it the time it should really have had in the first place, without taking away what made it good in the first place. Baz
As for the images, the cover has been re worked as youve probably seen in images floating around but the train image as far as im aware is remaining, its a big part of the albums imagery
@@MassiveWagons actually I hadn't seen the imagery when I commented. The new cover front and back looks nice, classy subtle - I'll still be looking for the train inside lol
So, with FIU being remastered a couple of years back, I think that just leaves FTS yet to be reissued/remastered. Is that on the horizon or do you still have boxes of the CDs hanging around taking up space?

Cracking album and upon first listen I was blown away by Nails, grooving to Ratio, confused as fuck by The Day We Fell (though love it) and utterly baffled by Fee Fi....

A different take on established tracks often has surprising results , I thought the original album was great , so I can't wait to here the refreshed & revigorated recordings . Fingers crossed it'll exceed Your expectations and get right to the top of the album charts . Nice one lads keep up the good work Good Luck & Rock On .

It's probably my favourite Wagons album. I'm really looking forward to hearing the new version, but part of my brain is worried that you've ruined it by adding bits that aren't needed, and removed bits that belong.
It's the same, but different. Like twins I suppose. As a twin myself, if it comes out like my brother, I'll be terribly disappointed! 😂😂
Hahaha 😂 thats a brilliant analogy, i hope we haven’t done that, we havnt taken anything away i dont think, just tastefully added parts that we think were required, stuff that was recorded at the time anyway and Matt from the studio kept on file, stuff that just was maybe overlooked at the time due to time constraints, we are totally aware of peoples feelings for albums in the past and we do not wanna crap all over that haha so hopefully youll dig what we did, it was with great care and taste i hope, we did get rid of all that talking bollocks in the day we fell tho, shiiiiiite!!!…….. just kidding of course haha Baz

No shame in remixing now that you're better, wiser and probably have a couple more pounds to spend on your work!
