- Today we're taking a look at the origin and the history of Major Sebastian Bludd! From his 3.75" action figure to Larry Hama's comic book run with Marvel Comics, let's explore where this French Mercenary came from and how he came to work with Cobraaaaaa!

Sheesh, I remember mailing in flag points. My mom spent a ton of money on my GI Joe obsession. And then you had to wait. Three days out and like 10 days to come in. I was at the mailbox daily like it was going to magically appear the day I sent the envelope.

If Bludd was just in Cobra for the money, he could've just joined the Joes team. That was the headcanon I came up with after getting his figure as a kid ages ago. That the Joes found out why he was in Cobra and offered him a clean slate along with the help he needed for his family so he switched sides.
He was wanted in several countries and the Joes only could have offered him a clean slate for crime he commited in the US, he would have been a diplomatic nightmare.
I have news...unfortunately, the US has does this before.
Major Bludd was my favorite Joe villain.

Cobra's Biggest Problem was, Too much Infighting. Why they lost so many battles

I always like Major Bludd more than Destro, I was in the minority back in grade school for that.
I i like m all Destro, Bludd, Tomax and Xamot. But Zartan and his dreadnoks were my favourites

Issue #19 was when i became a big fan of Major Bludd. He kills General Flagg, kills a Cobra Trooper on the roof (to take his FANG chopper...didn't have to kill him since he was an all but Bludd did anyway) and pretty much kills Scarface by leaving him to die, chained up, in the upcoming explosion......even after Scarface helped him unarm General Flagg. All so he could rescue the Baroness. And Major Bludd didn't rescue her so she wouldn't die in the upcoming explosion or to make things right between them since he left her to die in a burning HISS tank in Issue #16. He rescued her just to save his own neck from Destro. Issue #19 is one of my favorite issues in the entire Marvel run due to the Major Bludd storyline & the conclusion of the Kwinn/Dr. Vemom/Snake Eyes storyline. Great character, and has some great figures too. I have a v1 Major Bludd, the v2 Major Bludd (Sonic Fighter), the v4 Major Bludd from 2000 that came in a 2 pack and a Chinese exclusive Major Bludd figure from 1994. Great character with some great figures.

I wish that Koei Tecmo, Bandai Namco, Hasbro Interactive, and EA would make a much improved variant of the Dynasty Warriors/Shin Sengokumusou franchise, but adding a lot more features, in a new G. I. Joe/Action Force game.
I think the original file card poem was... “A mercenary’s job is a heartless one / I’m a soldier for hire, like a pawn-shop gun / My ruthless tactics keep you on your toes / Cause I fight em all, whether friends or foes!” although some people say this one came after I think it was the first.

Was it clarified why the cartoon and comic had a more or less "normal" bionic arm, while the toy had "the claw"?

Anyone remembers who the American president looked like? He built a wall before serpentor invaded DC. Dollar announced worthless. Sound familiar. There was even a tale about cobra poisoning all fast food.

In Retaliation Major Bludd is seen brevely but in a photo, if the character make live action in Gi joe 3, i think Mads Mikkelsen should play him

Cool history on major bludd but you forgot to mention he also appeared in gi joe second series dic season 2 after sunbow end it before arriving to resolute and renegades

Too bad Major Bludd did not have much of a role in the original cartoon series aside, from the first feature. Cobra comprised mainly of Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness and Major Bludd originally.
Zartan effectively replaced Major Bludd in the series.

I do not care about a backstory about how Major Bludd got an eye patch beyond maybe a blurb on a file card or smthg. I don't want and don't need an animated or even comic book story about how he got his eye patch. If it hasn't been done yet. Please do not do it.
