Here's the thing. If Six didn't care about you anymore, she wouldn't have caught you in the first place. The fact that she caught you and _then_ let go is a testament to the fact that she changed her mind only after she already caught you, so she definitely cared about you up until then.
Or that she was sucking Mono’s power from him in order to travel through the television.
Or, how much more messed up would it be for Six to catch them just out of sick humor, never intending to help them?

@@connorbraun7305 some people said this before, but i don’t think six is necessarily a bad person, she just indulges on her dark side more than she should. to be completely fair to six, she is a pure survivalist in a situation which requires those skills. without her ability to push for survival, then she wouldn’t have gotten through LN1. she also probably lacks the ethical boundaries we have due to her situation in a “nightmare”. her breaking the mannequins fingers (in my opinion of course) seemed like her assuring their safety, since the mannequins kept attacking them. i believe that six has a very dark side, and that combined with many other factors (such as being distorted by the thin man either intentionally or unintentionally, losing the music box that kept her sane, and going through much more that we haven’t seen on screen). another thing is we’ve spent more time with six, so we’ve seen a bit more of what she’s gone through and we haven’t seen as much of that with mono. but (and this is my final point sorry this is so long) whenever she and mono get into a calm situation, she’s rather gentle and caring towards him. idk i think she’s a morally grey person, not a bad person
the ending really shows that the scariest thing in this game really isn’t the scary monsters and huge creatures instead it’s these two kids, the little nightmares

The music box is a symbol for six’s imprisonment and her only comfort during it. By destroying it mono frees six but also destroys her trust in him, I’m not crying you’re crying.

The fact the amount of TVs scattered everywhere shows how many times mono tried to save himself and start over but every time, he failed and was betrayed by his own kindness and turned into the one thing he hated, depression, anguish and vengeance, and the saddest thing is, it repeats and repeats until he eventually dies. It’s very tragic because it’s very real. People try to save themselves and others but end up destroying themselves.
I felt as if I should reply to this, as you’ve made me realize something big about myself... If I continue down my path of trying to help others even if I don’t have anything to give, I’ll end up destroying myself in the end because I just try to save others... so I wanted to thank you for pointing that out to me, even if that wasn’t your intention. I can’t just keep giving or helping when I can’t even help myself.

He was attempting to save himself. stop himself from becoming him. Protect himself from 6. his last sane thought was her betrayal.
Possible. I would argue that the Thin Man was trying to stop YOU from helping six so that you dont get betrayed by her. Six see's your face for the first time, and sees your resemblance to the Thin Man and decides you are a threat and lets you fall ironically causing you to become the main antagonist. Mono gives up and lets the signal tower corrupt him.

Yeah, the shadow is her soul, I think, hence why she gets so hungry and seems to be so heartless. Her goodness and her soul were taken from her when she was dragged into the digital universe of the signal tower. Maybe why she turned into a corrupted being, and maybe why the Thin Man, or grown up Mono, also seems evil or corrupted, the signal tower takes away your goodness, innocence, and your ability to sympathize with others, hence why Six was messed up. Six was also messed up before the signal tower, but I think that was from years of abuse, neglect, and independence.

My theory about six dropping you after catching you beforehand is because Six could get a proper detailed look at Mono's face now that he doesn't have the paper bag on and that she saw the similarities between your face and that of her kidnapper (Thin man) then got scared jerked her hand back in fear and you plumbing back to your time loop demise starting it all over again
That or Six had a change of heart in the heat of the moment and was tired of being put in these treacherous predicaments possibly putting her life in jeopardy because of you and where you lead her

And the reason why Six is hungry all the time in the first game is cause she sort of lost her "essence" in this one after being grabbed by the thin man.

It's also a time loop/paradox for Mono and Six because this is confirmed a sequel to the first game. The only logical theory why Six doesn't use leech powers visibly is because her powers are probably weaker off of the maw.

Even me, someone who has never played little nightmares, the first full little nightmares video I watched was the last level of LN 2 on Dawkos channel and that ending surprised me so much and got me interested in the entire series

I expected the betrayal
All id like to say is mono wears a hat/mask the entire time and when sis drops him that's the first time she sees his face. In my opinion, that isn't an accident and she dropped him because she recognized his face as the thin man. (you can also see she holds on to him not wanting to let go for a while before she lets go for her safety) Also, it would probably add extra thought in her brain that he isn't as kind as she thought by the fact their last interactions were him letting her get kidnapped and he destroyed her most precious item (the music box) (he didn't do anything wrong, she recognized his face and then used those things as extra reasons) also I can explain any extra insistence people use to "prove shes evil as well if anyone's interested)
Another yhing i think adds to that as well is 1, even when six is her monster state when she sees somthing she fears to harm her or her music box she shreaks in fear. Her first reaction is to cower before she trys to defend herself. 2 after she drops mono she stands up slowly and walks away almost as if she is still processing and mourning what just happened. He was her only family for all we know. Thats why when she dropped him it took her long after to decide even after she reconized him.

I'm not altogether convinced anyone is all good or all bad in this story. I'd say it's more likely for Mono to be more virtuous than Six, to say otherwise would be completely ignoring or explaining away Six's journey through the game, as well as how dark of a character she was in the first game

We spent this whole game saving six. Thin man captured her. Six betrays us because she sees the resemblance in our face (since we don’t have a hat on in the end) in turn six betrays us because she sees mono is the thin man... it’s ironic because maybe if she chose to save us we never would have became the thin man.... that’s my theory :)

The ending of mono accepting the fate of being turned into the tall man to me is like he accepting the reality of adulthood and the judgement of other people about everything you do, say and think, hence the eyes looking at him and consuming him. Also all the tv's are a way for you to get away from the "horror" of responsibility witch traps you in a way. The guys falling could be depression and mono being stuck in a room could be representing an office or just his life in general. That's how most adults feel like and the fact that the tall man is trying to capture them is probably related to the time travel thing or just that maybe he already seen how they would turn up and so he was preventing mono from becoming him and trying to push six away since she was already in a bad state and would probably corrupt him as well. Either that or he was corrupted himself and didn't like the idea of anyone being different from him.

Is it just me or when Six screams it sounds ... full of fear, frustration, distress, and pain? Bc she seemed pretty docile up until the point where we decided to be a jerk head and tried to break the music box... maybe she deemed us as a threat bc we attempted to smash the one think that kept her calm and made her feel safe? Bc it was familiar to her? Bc she was constantly gently protecting it and petting it. She sounded like a scared little girl throwing a tantrum over something being taken away rather than an angry, mindless monster like the others... I don’t know I’m just looking into things 😅

i think thats a pretty accurate description. based on her body language, it seems like shes acting more out of fear and upset than anything.
that in mind, i think something a lot of people overlook is that her perspective on things is most likely different than ours. i mean, we only see things through monos perspective. so to him, he may think the music box is bad and must be destroyed so that he can save six from herself. but to six, she may see it as mono destroying her safety and comfort. and by extention, her trust in him. she may not have understood what happened, and that destroying the music box would turn her back to normal.
and hell, maybe she wouldnt even want to be turned back if she did know. i mean, at that point shes the same size as everything that terrorized her and mono, so now she has a much better chance of protecting herself and what she cares about. i imagine thats something she wouldnt want to let go.
Fun Fact: It takes six hits to break Six's music box.
1) - (6:14) In her memory room, where she still trusts you, before you hide under the table.
2) (8:42) There are two doors to teleport through to distract Six.

It breaks my heart that thin man was actually trying to help and stop the cycle, because he KNEW six would betray him (mono). Like, notice how he was ONLY going after six, and when he got her, he tried to stop mono from saving her. And when mono was defeating thin man, you can see him hold his hand up trying to tell mono to stop. Damn this game hits hard lmao
At the same time six was trying to break the cycle. The thin man takes her, traps her, and bears a striking resemblance to mono. As far as she is concerned, mono turns into the thin man, when she drops him she isn't trying to trap him in the flesh, but kill him, to stop him from becoming the thin man in the future.
That final look isn't her glaring at mono, she is conflicted over what to do. Kill her friend and break the loop, stopping him from becoming the thin man (in her mind), or pull him up and have him live to become the main antagonist.
There's also a theory that when Six was captured, her soul was separated from her body. So the person that let Mono go was just a soulless vessel that acts on basic instinct - to survive and the consume. So by capturing Six, the Thin Man had already restarted the cycle, dooming Mono from the start.

I was crushed by the ending. My soul just hurt.... Why would she betray him like that.... I had a feeling wholesome ending was building up throughout the game, just for it to end with such bitter taste, with such despair. My heart is just broken.

She recognised Mono as the Thin Man who had put her into this horrible situation in the first place, so she drops him because she's scared he'll grow up and become the Thin Man. Unfortunately what she didn't know is the act of betraying Mono is *exactly what* made him grow into the Thin Man. His TV powers seem to get stronger to the extent where he can travel back in time through the TVs, enticing Mono to tune in and free him by opening the door, so he can come out and take Six to exact revenge for her betrayal, which would theoretically prevent this horrific bootstrap paradox, but Mono doesn't know the Thin Man is him and the Thin Man himself probably has a corrupted mind with the one goal to capture Six for revenge. He chases Mono further because he knows he'll try to come and save Six which is what caused Mono to become him, so he's trying to save himself from becoming the Thin Man

This video is two years old now but I can't see any comments mentioning that glitchy Six is actually in Little Nightmares. Whenever Six eats something in Little Nightmares there's a little glitchy shadow figure of Six standing and watching her eat the thing that she's eating. I didn't know if anyone had caught that or made the connections there but it totally clicked with me when I saw it. This story created the Six that we all know and love/hate in the first game... that and obviously the hunger. I feel like being pulled into the TV and creating the glitchy Six/separating parts of herself left a hole that couldn't be filled.

Six only gets her abilities because she doesn’t have her shadow, her powers basically extend to eternally being hungry and eating other people to try and steal their shadow instead.
so if i understand it, Mono as the thin man was probably trying to separate his young self and Six so he would save himself, but than he had to chase himself and try to stop himself because he knew his young self would try to save his friend who ends up betraying him, this is honestly heartbreaking.

Six betrayed mono because he broke the music box which as jack pointed out is the same one she had at the start and that music box made her feel safe so when he broke it he pissed her off because she trusted him and he betrayed her so her sadistic nature came into play and she grabbed his hand just to look him in the eyes before she dropped him also if they want to break the cycle then all they have to do is either get six to forgive mono or for the thin man to stay away and leave six alone that way she will never be taken to her safe room and mono will never have to break her music box

The meaning of little nightmares is that a child becomes the monster they once feared, it's an endless cycle of torture and helplessness that gets a feeling of oppression. What a great game.
that is a really good message, or moral i guess. Both games explore some form of vices present in adults, greed and gluttony in the first game,(the guests are literally fat, rich elites who want to devour innocent children. Seems to me like a metaphor for people like Jeffrey Epstein.) and in the second game it's an obsession with media (i mean, do i really need to explain it?) no matter what, children will always grow up to be adults, losing their innocence, and becoming nightmarish monsters who terrorise other innocent kids (studies show that people who were abused as kids are more likely to exhibit similar abusive behaviours, as well)

I think so as well. There are two things that is happening, and both are a play on the name. Little Nightmares because you are in a child's nightmare. Also Little Nightmares because the main characters are child nightmares, just waiting to grow into real nightmares.

Isn’t this series just an allegory for growing up? It’s inevitable, being an adult is weird and terrifying. Children often feel small, helpless and the world isn’t made for them. Adults do strange, bizarre and often twisted things that kids don’t understand. Adults often live their lives as mindless Things, slaving away for some all consuming entity. Forcing kids to grow up too fast and twisting them beyond recognition.

This is one of my favorite endings to a game, ever. The realization, that the thin man is Mono, and that he was never after Mono, but rather he was after Six, and then trying to keep you away from her, is so mind blowing. Look at what old Mono did, he chased after you and Six, when he got them corrnered in that room, he had to have known they were both in there, but he did not want Mono, why would he? Six is the key to his creation. Her dropping Mono is why he exists.
This game does the ultimate misdirection, of making you forget, Six is evil. She kills without mercy, it does not matter who gets in her way, she will kill them, for food or for survival. Do i think she never cared for Mono? No, i think Mono could have been her first friend, but just her nature took over, that was why she dropped him. He was of no use now, she was across, why hold on to what you dont need?
And look at what the thin man did with Six, he did not kill her. Rather he did what she did to him, locked her deep away, subdued with her music box, to grow and deform, unable to hurt anyone again. But Mono couldn't know that, he was trying to help his friend, only to realize it is a loop, far too late.
I just finished the game and I’m reading this truly I’m HURT 😢
As soon as I realized this was the prequal I knew Mono would end up with a fate worse than death. I was right. And now Mono is forever trapped in a continuous loop, constantly being defeated by his younger self. (Played the game twice already, nearly 3 times. The 3rd time I wanted to get all the collectables and get all the achievements. Turns out you have to wear a certain Hat per chapter to get a different achievement. Also you need a special add on to get the gnome hat.).

it's so cool to be able to look back at all of the foreshadowing knowing the ending. mono's time in solitary confinement is shown in certain rooms on each section throughout the game (like the "time out" rooms in the school section). i wonder if the number of years/days marked on the wall would've been accurate if they were counted in those rooms?
Bro when mono took his bag off in my first play through i knew instantly that he was the young version of the tall guy... Thats what i love so much about these games, the storytelling, symbolism, and foreshadowing is just so damn good that it makes sense even when it is so strange and out of the blue, and you see it coming even though it just seems crazy and they never even give any information or exposition, they just give you a feeling.

Actually for Six it wasn't betraying, she was trying to save Mono from the unending loop of him suffering and turning into Thinman. Six let go of his hand because she thought that would kill the current Mono and end the whole suffering loop. But Six didn't know that what she did actually made him the Thinman. Just as Thinman thinking that taking away Six would end the loop but it actually made the loop possible. No one is at fault here. Both tried to save eachother from the loop from different perspectives.
And if Six wanted to she could have easily betrayed Mono before, but that is ofcourse not the case because Six cares for mono and that's why she wanted to break the loop.

i know a lot of people dont like six, especially after the ending, but i just have to say, the introduction to monster six broke my fucking heart. like how when you enter the room shes not aggressively defensive, shes just guarding the music box with her hands, and how she gently pushes mono away when you try to hit her instead of hurting him, and how the second she recognizes monos voice shes okay with sharing her music box with him, it all just breaks me. because i think its made pretty clear that she cares about mono, doesnt want to hurt him, and more importantly, she trusts him. she trusts that he will not hurt her only comfort, and i absolutely hate how your only option is to violate that trust.
(also just noticed how the room shes in is filled to the brim with toys and she has her own little "bed", as if it was specifically made to be a safe room for her. im not crying youre crying)
That "glitchy six" is actually six's soul. When six was captured by the tall man her soul left her body. That's why at the end when six's soul died she became hungry. She's trying to eat to fill her emptiness because her soul is gone.
That's probably why she had to eat people in LN1

if anything i felt sad for six by the end of this game
1. she escapes in very little nightmares then arrives here where mono takes her from her locked up room to adventuring and running from everything trying to kill them then she goes off to the first game just to run and escape more terrifing things all over again
2. six offers her most valued possession and her most comforting object to mono in a time she really needs it to show her trust in him and then he breaks it but six isnt aware of why six just thinks the box is comforting when in reality its what binds her to the tower and forces her into that monsterous form so thats why she chases him
3. she still cares about mono because she catches him when they jump but she drops him because she recognises him as thin man which makes her feel betrayed again so she drops him and stands over the edge before slowly walking away slowly proccessing what happened since for a long time mono has been the only person she could trust and he even saved her several times and when she comes out the tv even before the hunger kicks in she stands still appearing almost regretful
4. in the original game six has that hunger which she cant help im assuming its some soul related thing since shes missing part of hers she needs to have souls not food which is way she takes random kid not the sausage
