FR. I know for a fact that I have any and everything to create whatever I want with a room full of friends, yet I continue to see interesting things that I must touch.
I love watercolors!!! I have beam paints! I have the primary color trio and some of their plastic free paint stones! And the gouche does its job! I have the robins egg blue and the wild rose and they are so nice! I've had them for about 4 years and they're paints are one of my treasures ☺! I have almost all of their ethical mica paintstones lol!
this was cool! watercolor nerds assemble hehe// especially liked your own palette of individuals pans, i wonder how it works, 'cause i've only been building my own palette around a core of some sorts and not randomly picked colors. and also still awaiting the video about gansai tambi paints
I'm thinking of waiting to do the gansai video until sometime in the summer, because I'm currently running a lightfastness test, and that'd give the best example, but i could also do a follow up later if people are impatient ^w^
If you are interested in a watercolor that has really interesting granulation I would say check out the Art of Soil watercolors! They are a woman owned small business handmade watercolors using rock and earth pigments and are also plastic free. They’re paints are so interesting and beautiful!
@@madden.r.grimes I agree with you I use the golden acrylics and I was a little upset that they didn't have a watercolor until I found out recently that they do lol. I just thought I'd let you know so you know that they're available. Although they do not use gum arabic as their binder it is called aquasol.
i just want to collect them.... its a whole different hobby xD i loove love unique paints and palettes, i cant resist t-t.. Golden acrylics company? if i remember correctly theyre the one behind Qor watercolors one of very unique paints, wild paints. i have more than enough paints to last me 2x of my life time T-T theyre my treasure they make me happy with how different they all are, theyre so fun!
Prussian blue is often difficult to work with even out of the tube and in other mediums too. Turner Acrylic Prussian Blue sometimes get chunky and unusable.
Could you maybe add the smallest amount of gum arabic and synthetic ox gall to the bad batch of Beam indigo paint to use it without it needing to be sealed? I did this with some paint that wouldn’t stick though I used far too much and it behaved weirdly. Perhaps mixing a few drops into a little cup of water and use that with it.
Thats a really good tip, but I'd have to do it every time, and I'm a bit to impatient for that. Thankfully i have a new fixative that i can use indoors now, so it will be less of a problem!
I'm ashamed to say I do far less creating than you but own many more paints... I got sucked into the collecting and swatching over making 'proper' paintings and spend way to much time and money on adding different pigments to my collection 😂. But there are so many beautiful and glorious colours to test, and like you say, they all behave differently. I've got several brands' Potters Pinks for instance, and no two are the same, even though they are all made with PR233.
Well there's no time like the present to start painting! Potters pink is a color I'd love to explore more brands of in the future, since i use it so much
@@madden.r.grimes my two fave versions are Roman Szmal and A Gallo (I'd recommend Roman Szmal over White Nights as they have more granulating and interesting paints at a very similar price point - and if you're politically minded, Roman Szmal is Czech not Russian...)
I'm glad to hear you say you don't need to own all these paints... most people wouldn't be that honest. 💜🫶 I, too, love collecting watercolor paint!! Just subbed 👍
Having a ton of your favorite art supply and still wanting more is possibly the most relatable artist problem. 😂🌸
For real!

You make me feel so much happier about my hobby… ahem addiction! Love the old Grumbacher ones! And yes love to try it all!
@@phillipstroll7385 but it does make me happy.
@@phillipstroll7385 I feel good though so I hope you feel better soon.
Your excitement about colors is really contagious 🥰👏🏼 thank you for sharing your palettes with us they are truly unique in their own ways!
Glad you enjoyed!

Your Studio Ghibli palette video was the one that RUclips recommended to me, it was how I found your channel :)
Glad you stuck around ^w^
I’m curious about how you made your own watercolours. Maybe a video on that some time?
I've been thinking about it for a while!
You're such a beautiful human being! I love how you light up, talking about your hobby! I hope i'm the same way. :D
So relatable!
I’m so glad to see I’m not the only ‘hoarder’ of artist supplies 😂
It's not hoarding if you use them all!
Very fun!

i use the same exact blue pencil case to hold my watercolor tubes 😅
Its held up surprisingly well

Golden does make watercolors under the name Qor
You're right! I totally forgot! The branding is so different

@@madden.r.grimes it is! The A Gallo is a much pinker, paler one, so it's nice to have both, I think.
