The bloodhound step really helps in dodging it close range, you can try. It's also possible to dodge close range waterfowl dance with just rolling, it's pretty tricky to pull off.

Can't really compare a solo kill to a summon kill tho. Having something take aggro off you makes all the difference in a boss fight, even if it's just for a second here and there

people forget experience (game hours) is a thing. of course its good if you know what you are doing. but there are weapons which are easier to use as a beginner and this is not one.
One of those weapons and AOW that i have never used because of the way they look! Hits harder than i thought though, hammers in general are usually not great in EldenRing.

And this is why I say malenias not that bad. She has the poise of a limp biscuit. I know it's a collosal weapon but she staggers and can get nocked flat on her ass pretty easily. Dex builds struggle with her because they're the equivalent of toothpicks in terms of that poise damage

I used lions claw on a few of my colossal weapons. It does A LOT of damage. One hitting most basic - strong enemies.
I’ve yet to meet an invader that has survived it. Everyone I’ve landed it on dies in one hit 💀

Excellent strength build tactic: rush in and overwhelm! Prelate is great against enemies with low stance, very effective against Radagon as well
