  • I received a special shipment of wood recently: 2 beautiful pieces of Yew.
In this episode I'm handcrafting the perfect neck, complete with compound radius, asymmetric carve and hemispherical fret ends.
This will be my entry into the Great Guitar Build Off '23

Great job - particularly bringing this altogether working outdoors. Very inspirational, looking forward to the next video.

Really nice work. How happy are you with that kataba saw? I'm sometimes struggling a bit on rip cuts (maple) with my ryoba. And would you recommend this brand? Thanks!

They cut straight and very quickly! I have two Japanese pull saws from this company and they're both great, at least for the type of work I do.
I imagine they take a while getting through maple though?

@@struttmusic487 Yeah, it takes a while 😅 And with impatience, the saw can quickly go the wrong way. Mine is from Bahco, which isn't quite Japanese :D Still decent though.

@@TheGlaude09 yes, the second time I used it I didn't have the fear and it quickly went off course. I'd also add that these are pretty cheap... How do your non Japanese ones perform?
