I figured this would be like, a thousand subscriber special, but your guys’ support on the first megamashup blew me away. So, here’s #2. There’s some different stuff I tried out here, but I also wanted to keep this one more tonally consistent with less key changes and longer choruses / drops, and of course, include lots of other M E M E S I hadn’t mashed up before :^) And thanks again for all the support lately. I might be over-analyzing this, but I enjoy this for reasons even past the nostalgia and entertainment. Starting at 6:27, I feel like Dayman is intentionally trying to convey the message of just enjoying life and not letting things get to you. He begins with linkin park “Numb” then transitions into “Goodbye to a world” like he’s saying things can bring us down in life. Then, he immediately turns it around with “All-star” “John Tron- Firework” “Get Lucky” “Party Rock Anthem” and “Dancin in September”. It’s like he is saying that life is always going to bring us down, but we just need to ignore it. We only live life once, and we need to live it to the fullest. I think this message rings even more true considering everything that is going on lately
I mean, it even shows part of Ocean Man and the Spongebob Movie ending that had it!

When the first note of 'Welcome to the Black Parade' hit, the nostalgia was so strong that it almost brought tears to my eyes. That song is my favorite song, but I can only listen to it every month or so, otherwise it is no longer special. Thank you, Dayman, for giving me this special part of your mashup. It feels so weird revisiting this wonderful thing after a while. For I recently discovered this was basically sums up almost a year of my life on RUclips or even the Internet in general. For at first I never understood a majority of these references and songs and little did I know how a little curiosity could end up changing my life. To keep things short, I ended up looking into many of each of these individual things diving into rabbit holes, exploring communities, and all sorts of crazy shenanigans thanks to this Megamashup along with many others. Like I said It’s weird knowing I only played DDLC due to seeing it pop up here and there, discoving so many other cool mashup artists like Triple Q, Pluffaduff, Nakinyko, (much much more) I even went down the deep hole of Silvagunner, including VaVr too. There’s so much more to say about the influence of what originally stems as memes would transcend itself more than it ever could. So basically, thank you ever so much for every single thing about these videos!

There's something about these mashups that I can barely even describe. I know the main point of these is just comedy, but with how much effort went in to this it feels like it's so much more than that. It almost feels like a celebration of modern human culture on this relatively new frontier called the internet. The way that we have been able to form such an unusual community with so many inside jokes is honestly mind blowing when you think about it. I know this all probably sounds ridiculously pretentious, but I honestly see this an an amazing piece of contemporary art.
