    I do wish that I mentioned that this man Poppin John inspired 10s of 1000s of people to start dancing, and that he's the new generations gateway drug to the popping scene, and that alone makes him one of the great dancers, and will always be one of the legends! He has a crazy work ethic and doesn't ever stay in one place, he keeps growing and evolving. I have mad respect and love for him.

Let me ask u have u ever seen a real og popper or animator he is good to you we developed this hood dance his fame comes from social media and another he stole this art from us. OG. MEKANIZM AND ONE MORE THING WHO CHANGED THE NAMES OF THESE MOVES HE DID TO MAKE IT HIS OWN? Thats a lie he has no signature he stole his shit at my age i will f him up he aint as good as u make him from a real hitter from the 70s and 80s

  • @treestopper2
    @treestopper2 5 лет назад +2

    Damn. 20 minutes and I still wish this one was longer. I kinda wish you had even more commentary. You have a great way of story telling in some way or another after doing commentary on the videos.
    Popping John has always been a key inspiration for me being from New Mexico. He did a workshop in Albuquerque years ago. One of the best experiences of my life. I also made the trip to El Paso for a popping event he held once. I didnt make it past prelims but I was around other poppers and it was something I dont get to enjoy where I live. I'm happy to see all his success.
    I hate when viewers who watch his content as often as I do start hating and saying he never changes things. He changes so much and he adds so much. And yes. If you watch a dancer enough you'll become familiar with their sets but when you sit back with the perspective of a first time viewer you forget how amazing each little detail is. I also hate elitist who call biting on everything. Everything we do is inspired. I've seen big name poppers do moves well after I did in practice, thinking I was first to do it.
    I knew exactly who you were gonna show as the inspiration before you searched him up. He's amazing.

      Hahaha jealousy sorry son he aint good enough to be jealous of ive been hittin since 77 and 80s till now your boy is ok but i danced with Elite dancers Original dancers who made the moves that u and your hero do now and in a routine its not good to repeat yourself every good hitter can complete a routine without repeating himself. Thats cute u said jealousy. What i dont like is the fact that you people never seen the real hitters but call this cat a legend i dont see how u call a guy who got most of his moves from other cats before him its insulting moves each of us major hitters from different sets made these moves from movies and cartoons we made these moves and performed them wherever we could statefairs shows we had at convention centers the only thing society frowned on our art and no social media it was hard to get recognized except in your own city but we danced in the street until recently its being accepted your boy aint no legend i knew and know cats alot better than him

    2nd comment from me. Happy you're gonna get monetized. You deserve it. Been missing these videos. Small note. There's a huge thing to appreciate when you say someone is "clowning" or when you call them a "clown" because I think it goes over people's heads how much you mean that as a compliment. As a circus performer, people don't realize you're around performers that are clowns and just like any other performer, they're extremely dedicated to their craft. Being both a dancer/popper and a circus performer you have a very broad perspective on where a lot of poppers get ideas from. Thanks for sharing as always.

    Poppin john just has that slick smooth element and even when he is just demonstrating his bodys movement just ooses that smoothness nevertheless the controversial topic of his miming performance goes over my head but i tend to think its like art tite kubo(bleach) , masashi kishimoto(naruto) or masahiro odai (one piece) have distinct styles that are refferenced and inspire many but as long as the artist changes enough of the idea and makes it theirs then i would say it gives the means of being inspired of it validity thats my 2 cents anyway enjoyed the commentary and congratz man you deserve a bagillion more subs lol the fantasti-nation is growing man major propz

You ask me he aint no legend he didn't start this shit alot of hitters didn't get recognized bcos of era and not knowing the right people but back in the dayz from the Bay to Sactown the best animators hitters and movers ever. All your boy did was copy and steal our shit to make himself famous he might be a legend to u people but to real poppers before him he aint nobody but a thief and a copy cat back in my day he would of gotten ate up by a few hitters also for stealing moves and teaching the shit. Poppin came from the hood 77 not the 90s A legend lmao social media gave these cat advantage of putting the craft out there takibg credit for our shitnow these cats are your legends but we know he aint no legend but in his own mind i know cats used to be way better than his copycat ass a legend lmao lmao

      @@llmrfantasticll Hi Robert; I'm thrilled you actually had time to reply; much appreciated. Perhaps my knowledge on dancers is not that great a deal. I see you have even posted about dancers not necessarily from the hiphop/world. Personally in the lockin/poppin genre I like this girl Dytto, I think she is rad and very close to current generation dancers right now. From legends I really appreciate Mr. Wiggles. I first saw him in Limp Bizkit's Rollin video and then in Missy Elliot's vids and became obsessed with him for a while. Also Chidi I think is a monster. I don't really know much about b-boys, sinces I am not much into that style but it may be interesting to know your take on them. Also if you feel like checking outside the urban style; check out this girl Sara Lopez, she is a bachata and Kizomba dancer and is literally hypnotizing to watch. Sure It has a lot to do with the fact she is blonde and so fit, but her body control is just impressive. Best to you.
