GLADES & HIDDEN TRAILS at Hunter Mountain on POWDER DAY!

- Took another day trip up to Hunter Mountain Ski Resort. We got some shots under the North Lift where it's hidden but definitely skiable. Then, we got some footage of the Greene Glades(Black) which are glades on the North Side off of Rips Return(Blue). They didn't open lifts to the summit immediately because of the high winds but after about an hour or two they had almost all the lifts running. Also got about an inch of snow in the morning to top off the recent storm. Overall it was a great trip as always!

Good glades on north
For real! But rarely since we haven’t had many good storm in the last few years
Did you ever get introuble going under lift line? It’s a great trail but it’s not actually a trail so it’s weird
How does patrol react to people skiing the northern express trail line run, will they take your lift ticket or are they ok with it?
We skied it last week but this week they just put up signs that says “ski a closed trail, lose pass 4 weeks” at the top of like every lift, but people still ski right under the north it’s just not as many. They have been putting up more closed signs too but I have not seen anyone get stopped or anything.
@@eastcoastsnow it’s weird that they don’t open the hunter north lift line, it’d make for a great trail
@@Qver-gd9bg I’m thinking they will make it a trail by text year or something because people have been hitting under north for a while because of all the rock jumps and stuff.
@@Qver-gd9bg i'm surprised too these mountains are always looking to increase their trail count
@@eastcoastsnow That is not a trail however, so can't be a closed trail. Not sure if ski patrol agrees, but generally they seem more strict poaching a closed trail vs skiing a non-trail area (and some have open woods, but I don't think Hunter does).
awesome video! i believe the correct terminology for under the northern would be side-country.
i've only been to hunter once in the past 5 years and there was no natural snow. i plan on going back when they are 100% open, whenever the hell that might be, and i will certainly hit that northern lift line.
i'm confused by the green glades. its not marked on the website's trail map, but clearly there's signage confirming its existence. i see on the map there's the woodstock glades, but thanks for letting us know about these other glades. and especially thanks for confirming its location!
Of course! Yeah they are barely ever 100% open, a few times last year with snow storms but probably soon this year
I’m glad you enjoyed your day but this is not powder or back country
