This series is directly related to Bomberman.
In fact, the NES version, developed by Hudson Soft, was the first appearance of the Bomberman as the enemy robots. The final Bomberman screen for the NES shows the original White Bomberman becoming human and suggests his appearance in another game, with Lode Runner behind him.
In the Japanese version, the reference is more direct: "Congratulations - Bomber Man Becomes Runner - See You Again in Lode Runner".
If on the day of launch of the Nintendo Switch we had Super Bomberman R I hope that someday come a new game of this series or make a version of Lode Runner Legacy for the new Nintendo console.

No, it is not. The series was originally created by Broderbund. Although Lode Runner was popular internationally, it was much more popular in Japan, which got sequels exclusively released there. Broderbund contracted Hudson Soft to do the NES version and published it themselves internationally. Hudson Soft redesigned the graphics and changed the enemy robots to the main character from their game Bomberman, and they also referenced Lode Runner in the ending of the NES version of Bomberman. The NES version of Bomberman is a predecessor to the NES version of Lode Runner. Lode Runner on the NES is the only game in the series related to Bomberman.
When I cleared all 50 levels in bomberman. I saw the main character of lode runner. So it kinda makes sense.

Very much appreciate this video. I'm stuck at stage 77 and my computer is too slow to emulate this. I just can't do it on original hardware. I'd like to ask you a favour. Is there any chance you'd be willing to record this game again to have it submitted to the LPA channel? I'll send you $25 and credit you on the video ofcourse. It doesn't have to be as quick as this one.
I wouldn't want to play the game again, but I do still have the input recording from Dolphin, meaning I could make another video that is the same as this one, if that's ok.

This version of Lode runner is cool and amazing… the gameplay and soundtrack comes from NES version.
I wish this wasn't so expensive on the Gamecube. This one looks way more fun to me that other Lode Runner games. Though I'm judging just from the looks. I've never played any Lode Runner game.
I would say this game is fun, but it can get extremely frustrating in some of the later stages.

The camera angles in this seem very inconvenient. This must've been why the series went back to 2D.

could never control the character in 3D games it always goes everywhere

While the bad guys don't always do exactly what you want, if you follow the moves I made, they generally should act the same way. I checked the area where I was digging early in the stage and I ran up to collect two gold pieces before digging a hole in the bottom left corner. That should cause the bad guy to walk over into it making it easier to escape in time. When I went straight to the bottom left without collecting the gold on the way there, the bad guy seemed to have a higher chance of walking into me.
There is another video of this stage if you want to take a look. The game runs a little slower in that video and it's not too different from how I did it, but there are a few small changes. You could find it easier to try something used here.

I don't think so, unfortunately. About the only thing I can say about this stage is I'm pretty sure I did things in a certain order so the one bad guy gets killed a few times and stays out of my way. I'm not completely sure if that works 100% of the time or if it sometimes appears in an area that kills you. You still have to move pretty fast in that stage either way.

I dont think its possible. Konami did own Hudson Soft's IP, but doesn't have Broderbund's permission yet.

Thx alot for this Video. It seems that this Version of Lode Runner is probably one of the weakest. Even the N64 & PSX games are better. No Enemy Variety same background the whole game no Extra Weapons or anything like that. Pretty disappointing.
I don't like the 3D gameplay of 2, 3D, and Cubic as much as the 2D gameplay of the other games in the series.
