Cool to hear about the times your interviews didn't go as planned. Nice to see that even though these feel like failures in the moment, there's a lot you can learn from them!
Hey Kevin! Thank you so much for making this video - it was INSANELY inspiring for me. As an upcoming new grad from UBC, it feels like I found this video at the perfect time. I can really tell how much effort you put into this one. It really feels like you spoke from your heart, and I strongly resonated with the analogies you made about getting into your dream university. Watching this gave me a sigh of relief. The three lessons you talked about at the end were exactly what I needed to hear, and now I feel motivated to keep grinding for a job as a new grad (even in these dark times :P). Definitely will be coming back to this one, thanks again! 😊
I really like how you brought up the point that with more progressive interviews, things do end up working out and sometimes its also just iteration with intent. Good content!!
Man I have failed / been rejected so many times that I am numb to it at this point haha. I agree with everything you said in this video. Have confidence and keep trying. Persistence almost always wins.
On-site interviews are always a great insight to the company and what the culture is like. Is there anything specific at your current company that really caught your attention during interviewing?
Hi kevin. What happened to your leetcode Easy and Leetcode Medium playlists? I used to love working through them in order. I don't see them anymore. Have you made it for pay only now? I'm willing to pay. I need to prep for interviews now. Please let me know how I can access them again? Thanks.
Hey kevin, loved your videos . but can you please make a video on - " certification courses for freshers in terms of gaining extra skills" which can be beneficial to get into a good comapny.
Hello Kevin. Hello John, I am software engineer at software company. Sometimes I have to prepare to interview to get good salary (which include theory java language, how should I answer when interviewer asks question and some leetcode). On the other hand, I want to learn hardcore engineering and build good software. I wonder that which skills I should care about preparing interview or creating software. Should I do leetcode or software engineerinh
i think you need to decide what your number one goal is and do the things that will help you prioritize that goal. i do think that learning things related to interviews are valuable for software engineering though
@@KevinNaughtonJrYes you are right actually I am an Indian student and I enrolled in a university degree known as BCA (bechelors of computer Applications) but in India a lot of companies focus on degree instead of skills. I want to ask you outside India there are same for tech job or not ?

Be me: get to final FAANG interviews 4 times and fail each one.
Also me: can't find any work even at the worst places now.

thanks Matt and totally agree! so much has come out of failures for me. thanks as always for supporting my channel :)

it’s cool that they’ve started doing onsite interviews again! 🎉 And it was totally Amazon and Quora’s loss!
thanks Pooja! :)
From my couple of on site experiences with AWS, the a majority of the questions focused on Behavioral Scenarios.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and learnings with us.👏

Did you also do competitive programming ? If not how to build logics in solving a coding problem?. Also how to build logic in development ?
Noob here, why is if statement for closing quotation mark a joke? Seems totally reasonable to me
Quick question. Did you do the College route or went to a coding bootcamp???
What did you do after these to increase your success for the next interviews? Did proficiency in any language matter?

How can I get job by doing open source in 6 months give answer in 1 sentence.
commit a lot of code, have impact, and make meaningful relationship, but 6 months timeline isn't guaranteed
