Ron lost several shots where he simply hit too long and straight, and a few where there was too much razz. This is the very definition of *a good player out of luck* so well played, Ron. You've still got a 69 in your future.
Ron I hope when you become the number 1 golf youtube channel in the world you remember the little guys like me that love and watch all your stuff hehe you're going straight to the top mate. keep up the great work !! 👍👏
What a Blast to discover Ron playing this amazing course. Welcome to my golf world. Imagine now walking the course in windy conditions!! Amazing content mate
Just happened to come accross this , was in Melbourne and Portsea last week. Played this course back in 1993! I think. Is this the Robert Trent Jones Junior designed course? The best golf course I ever played in without a doubt, 7th hole was unforgetable !. Scored triple digits at the time but didnt care it was just so beautiful, scenary and the course design, fairways are like greens in other courses, bunkers cut into the fairways and greens so immaculately. Great content Ron, camera work gave a good sense and feel for the course. I subscribed. Keep it up. Another old man subscribing…unfortunately for you….
Good stuff Ron, quirky no nonsense golf and aussie humor to boot. My first video watching you and may i say the first you tube golfer i have seen who lays the flag stick down as i do, gently using the putter. I approve. We can hang out.
What an amazing looking course! Guaranteed id be hitting triple digits! Great round on such a tough course bud! Awesome content, keep em comin!!! 🤟🇨🇦🇨🇦🤟🍻🍻🍻
Great watch. Words can't describe the old course experience. The place is just special. Views are spectacular and the course layout and conditioning will blow you away. ... At the same time it will bend you over and have its way with you... . It will expose every weakness in your game and make you pay... And you will be happy about it... ecstatic even. Just dont be dumb enough to walk it... 😉
Loved the course. Hey Ron I just brought a new cart with an Electromagnetic Automatic park brake so next time your in Queensland I'll let you use it as you seem to keep having problems with the park brake hahaha
Hey Ron, feel blessed to have found your content. I’m a member down here and it seems you were blessed with the weather. You don’t see a calm sunny day like that often. Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done Chops you certainly nailed it when you said it's a great course played there and it's tough, the view from the club house is pretty spectacular as well.
I actually did a LOL with that first putt on 3 but then realized I’ve had putts where I’ve putted off the green and then had to chip so…all in all a pretty good round on a tough track with spectacular views. 👊
I cant believe how lucky you were with the wind, the average day down there is a 2-3 club wind. Ive played there when we've had to hit 2-3 irons into number 7 from the back tee. Breaking 80 on those days is like shooting 63 anywhere else lol! Its one of if not the best course Ive ever played, and its not alone in that part of the world...
That's a great 2 putt on 6, years of putt putt can prepare one for that. The greenside bunker on 2 is the size of a small house. I hope you played Moonah course legend.
Some great golf there what’s your handicap +? I was just in Melbourne and seems average joking fee is 10k and look what you get compared to Sydney, pretty impressive royal Melbourne the Victorian and Sandringham so close and Yarra Yarra not far, amazing and Sandringham is public and it’s mint ❤
And they reckon Oak Hill is hard? Shit the bed this track looks tough as nails. Good work on the par 3's ha ha. Par on 17 was outrageous. Only content where I watch all the way to the end so I can listen to the music and sing along. Onwards Ron!
Quick Question: Why do people use range finders when you can use like i have - Garmin S60 and its all on your watch? It keeps score and all sorts of other crazy useful data. And you cant leave it in your cart. I dont get it.
Watching this before I play this morning. I suppose I'll need to wear my Ron Chopper shirt for luck. Or do I run out of luck wearing it? I'm confused on the rules here.
Looks like you got the full Old experience here. You will get some great views, birdie chances, and occasionally stabbed in the face for no good reason (eg. The 8th). You walked the tightrope pretty well.
You know your luck is out when the only people who message you is middle age men!. When you get to number one in the world on you tube, I reckon you will have at least two lady followers by then!
This place is absolutely off its head, and not in a good way. A breezeless day happens 9 times a year, and it becomes damn near unplayable in a 20km/h + zephyr. Greens are on steroids and most of us mere mortals can't hit driver, 7-iron into a par 5 to save the "working man's par" when we lose our first ball (that tee shot rivals 10 @ The Cut for worst in Australia). It's not fun in any way whatsoever, and while it's good that it punishes bad shots, it also doesn't reward good ones. Place should be blown up (bar the car park elevator, that thing is awesome).
Hey Ron... great content keep it up... But I have to say that the National is not the hardest course in Oz... maybe close for the mainland courses, but until you have played at Cape Wickham,.. you have not had a real test.. Barnbougle and Lost Farm are tough and really tough in bad weather ie: a lot of the time... While Cape Wickham is super tough from the Tips and almost unplayable in bad weather. I average about 260metres with my driver in still conditions including roll out - at Cape Wickham I have hit a few drives which have failed to reach the fairway at less than 150m...! Give it try,.... would love to see you play it. The only course I have played where the wind speed can range from 10mph to 80mph depending where you are on the course and the time of day..!
@@DougKercher Hi Doug, I missed playing in the Cape Wickham event last few years, but my last visit to the island in 2017, the wind was over 50kph before we hit off,.. I was playing off a 2 handicap and played okay for a score of 94. Far from the worst score of the day.
Pretty obvious why you shot 2 over through 4 holes ron. Stella was absent! Nobody wants to see ron play safe with a 2 iron, they want to see ron absolute roost stella for 370m.
Ron lost several shots where he simply hit too long and straight, and a few where there was too much razz. This is the very definition of *a good player out of luck* so well played, Ron. You've still got a 69 in your future.
Also clearly not playing the same tees as the distance on the video. Hitting two irons near the green on a 490 metre uphill par5? 535 yards? Come on.
@@MrPoepope you must be unfamiliar with the Ron Chopper Roost!
... nice
@@MrPoepope not uphill.
2x 220-230m well struck 2i pretty reasonable.
The fairways also run a mile.

That's a great 3 putt on the 3rd Chop
The rangefinder shows what a thorough professional you are.
I just woke up the entire family laughing at that at 5.30am

Great stuff, love your content, recommend it to all my friends. Hope you come to the UK to play in Rick Shiels tournament. Come on the Chopper.
Thanks and well played Ron. This brought back my fond memories from 13 years ago of playing this course off the black tees.

Absolutely nailed this video👌
Most underrated part is home 3 where Ron lasers the flag while he’s about to long putt 😂
It’s great to see this course on camera like this! Comes up very nice on the tele! Well played 👏

Don’t think I wanna play it with wind! It was perfect 👍
Epic golf course and video Ron!
I know the Red-demption Episode just dropped, but this remains my favourite on the Channel so far. Editing and drone work is incredible.
I agree mate 👍
Well done Ron!! No wind on the old course is tough enough, but when the wind blows, it’s bloody brutal
That place off the blacks with wind! Absolutely not!! 😂
I’m stressed just watching it!
Amazing course
Melbourne at its best
You’re the daddy Ron!
Got to play this a few months back. Every course there is just amazing.
Great video Ron.
Well done Chops you certainly nailed it when you said it's a great course played there and it's tough, the view from the club house is pretty spectacular as well.
Great going, Ron! Had a blast watching this episode! Keep up the good work, mate 👍
Well played Ron. I have played the ocean course there and the greens are tough to judge
Love your content mate, looking forward to more breaking par videos.
Hope you go a long way in RUclips worrld, your swing is great to watch....
Imagine that joint when the wind is blowing 🫣🫣🫣
Played here with a member recently he said he can hit gap wedge up to 4 iron on the 7th when the wind gets up.
Smoke it faster

That 1st putt on the 3rd was outstanding 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sir Ronald Graham Chopper.
Top fucking quality as usual Chop, ya love to see it son🤙💪

It is indeed, even more when you walk the course.

You see the putting?
That's the best course I've ever played, it was immaculate. I need to go back one day.
He is human after all, still a good round bro 🤜🏽
I would love to play 18 holes with ya one arvo over a few beers haha 😅 love the content mate 👍
Gotta get you over to the UK for some collabs ! ... and playing in the Rick Sheils RUclips Major!
subscribed because of the way you put the pin down, hate when people drop the pin on the green
Quality colour commentary from the poor mans Geoff Ogilvy. Shout out to the cameraman as well, great job.

Great vlog, wouldn’t like to play a golfer who is a plus handicap from that golf club
Hey Ron would you be able to show the distance and how far you got in the video I love the vids the videos are immaculate
The use of the putter to soften the flag being laid on the Green on 11 23:40 . What a gentleman.
absolute razztastic content once again from the main man!!!!
Course reminds me of Hamilton island without the views. What a beauty
Chops Ur a gamming legend. U should play beer skins against big red. That would be entertaining... if it went for the full 9
That course is bloody chaotic! Hopefully get to see you a little further out of your comfort zone and play a sand green course like serpentine

Geez lines look good on the greens

Not sure if battle more with course, yourself or brake on buggy?
