So I recently bought the Ddj rev 1 but whenever I start up the serato DJ lite app, it keeps saying that “hardware cannot connect to serato DJ lite” What do I do now? I already added my computers speakers as the default for “playback” and “recording” as prompted, but I still have the same issue Can you make a video regarding this issue or am I missing something?
TIP: im not sure if its a Pioneer thing, but my Numark dj controller and Novastation midi keyboard cable does not register on serato when i use them... So if mine breaks or i lose it, im screwed.
I have the exact same SB3 gold ed. Had it about maybe two years or so now. Looks new and operates new. It is my main controller for the house for just jam time and messing. I am torn between stepping to the rev 1 or just leave it due to hype or all else. That or do I really need it vs the SB3. I want another something for another room at the house. I am sold on the bigger jogs and that is what I want. I am not sold on the small pads but thank god I am smart. I have 4 Reloop Neon hooked up to my SB3. One pad on that is about the size of two or more of a SB3 pad. I guess this is all going to boil down to what I want to do in a controller. My understanding the Rev 1 is more scratch set up based. Which looks like it. I beat blend more however do scratch. I just don't know yet. I do want to stay within a 300 price range and some say do a Numark Mixtrack Plat FX. I looked at that and really dig and want the center jog display. Just never dealt with that controller first hand to know how the build and all else is vs the SB3. Ny event I see in the vid here the Rev really has no start display. Unless it can be redone in settings to a degree. But the SB3 on start up kills it on display for sure.
Hi Joseph. Thanks for the comment and the watch. For me the Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX is the better of the 3. I did a video on it maybe a year ago and it still has much more to offer at this price point If there was a gold version of the Platinum FX I would’ve jumped on it. The Rev1 is definitely scratch dj focused in comparison to the SB3. I’ve been editing the comparison video of the SB3 and Rev1 since yesterday. Hoping to have it up late tonight early tomorrow (USA EST , Don’t know where you are in the world )
@@idjchance Thanks for reply and love. I will look up the vid on Mixtrack Fx. Also the SB3 and REV edit vid. I am leaning more to the Mixtrack FX. Only because it has display jogs. But I am still in deep learning on it and all else spec wise and as a whole. I am glad I have worked on and collect audio since 80s. So I can understand things. Thing is with that controller I never had it in my hands to see.
Great video. Quick question, I dont have any experience with any mixer and looking to purchase one to mess with at home or little family get togethers. I have been recommended to get the SB3 however, everywhere I have looked they are out and say the will not be getting more since it was a limited edition one. Many businesses have advised me to look into this one in your video(DDJ-Rev1) because of the similarity features. Whats your take on between the SB3 vs Rev1 for beginners? or do you recommend another one? Thanks in advance.
From what I see at this date of reply- It is not supported yet. However I did see a official ticket reply from VDJ saying they will and are in works now. So I would say the process to create and map etc in in the works. They are like any to compete and I would assume that support will be released fast. I am going to go ahead and gets me one now. I also have the SB3 as my main. It is the gold ed.
Thanks Awek. I honestly wouldn’t know. I’ve never used a ddj400. I know that the pioneer used the same part number crossfader for almost the entire run of ddjs up to the SR2 , WeGo,T1,S1, Aero since 2011. I would comfortably say that it is the same part. I appreciate you giving me a watch.
I just purchased the SB3, and now I see this!?. First of all thank you for the video and the box opening, I don't know if I made the right decision though since they're both priced the same. I haven't had much experience in mixing with digital I'm transitioning from vinyl, do you recommend the REV1 or the SB3 I need some thing that makes affects and transitions and beatsync easy. Thank you very much please respond before I receive the other pioneer I'm so confused
Hi Danny. Seems you’re like me and like mixing more than scratching. The Rev1 is all about the battle / scratch DJ. The SB3 delivers the right amount of that performance in a familiar layout so I’d stick with that one. There’s quite a bit I like about the Rev1 but that’s the part of me that does like the scratching style. For just straight mixing the SB3 would be the one to stay with. I’m working on the edits for the Comparison video right now. Hope to have it up by late tonight early tomorrow. (Based on USA EST)
@@idjchance Thank you DJ chance for the reply and information I really appreciate you and I look forward to that video you're working on. I'm glad I made the right choice and I'm happy that you confirmed it! Yes you are right about me, I enjoy mixing and blending songs together with a little affects here and there during transition. I'm not really into scratching at all. Thank you again DJ Chance👊
man, don't you wish it cost maybe $100 more and it has at least one screen in the middle, I would have ordered one but cheapo Pioneer doesn't want you to have a screen for that price
Oh man I was completely lost on that one. NS7 is a great piece. I used it but never owed one. I did help load and unload it and that coffin weight almost put me in one! Almost snapped my spine
the legend Dj Chance from my home town BPT, man really loves the gold versions of everything lol
My first time to your channel, great video 😁
Welcome to my lil slice of the tube. Thanks for giving me a watch and dare I say it, a “chance”…wah wah waaah.
Great review , mine comes in Friday
Thanks for giving me a watch.

does it unlock full serato dj, or light version?
Only comes with Lite. The scratch Bank feature does work with Lite though. I’m grateful for giving me a watch Ike.

Please my Ddj Rev1 doesn’t work with serato dj pro 😭
Are you running it on the latest version of Serato dj pro? Mac or PC?
@@idjchance no I’m using my old serato pro. Haven’t updated it since 2020
@@Djwizkel you have to upgrade to the latest version and also if you’re using a Mac you have to upgrade to at least OS 10.14.
@@idjchance I’m using hp window 10. So I’ll have to update everything
Best of luck. Let me know how it goes.
how did you get it early

Hi Eddie thanks for the watch. Honestly I think the layout of the SB3 is better for a beginner

It’s definitely behind what the Numark MixTrak Platinum FX offers in that regard
