    Lyrics:
    I’m obsessive and unsure
    I want the answer before I know the cure
    I stress to be amused
    Complicate the way
    And I wonder why I bruise
    Oh, Maybe I’ll listen now
    Somehow
    But gravity holds me down
    Girls Like Me
    They fall a little too hard
    For all the world to see
    And it breaks your heart
    But Girls Like me
    Every time that they get up
    They’re the diamonds in the rough
    When they finally realize they’re enough
    Sometimes I’m bold and I’m brave
    I smile to hide all that I won’t say
    Loving the wrong one every time
    I know you told me, but now I’m sinking in my mind Again
    Maybe if I say it loud
    All I feel
    Maybe it can be real
    Girls Like Me
    They fall a little too hard
    When they try to speak
    But the words are just too hard
    But Girls Like me
    Every time that they get up
    They’re the diamonds in the rough
    When they finally realize they’re enough
    But oh, maybe she will hear me now
    For all this love
    Shouldn’t that be enough?
    Girls Like Me
    A little heady a little bent
    Dancing nights till 3
    Only to forget
    But Girls Like Me
    They remember when the morning comes
    They are loved
    Girls Like Me
    They fall a little too hard
    For all the world to see
    And it breaks your heart
    But Girls Like me
    Every time that they get up
    They’re the diamonds in the rough
    When they finally realize they’re enough

    Wow! First thought? The power and magnificence of her voice yet the vulnerability in the lyrics blows me away. What an incredible talent. Can't wait to see her in TSO today!❤

    Another fantastic job Chloe. You are blessed with such talent over such a wide range of emotions, with music that expresses feelings for so many in the world. You go girl, with the heart of gold and the voice of an angel.

    Everything about this song is just perfect. Your voice deserves a song like this, 'cause it is beyond technique, it is more about introspection and pure interpretative feeling. The lyrics are so personal but are powerfull, everyone can connect with them... They’re the diamonds in the rough
    When they finally realize they’re enough
    Great Song.

    It's such an amazing song, both vocally and lyrically.
    Honestly, I think the words will speak to any of us who have, at times, sought validation through the approval and "love" of others.
    Chloe needs to be MUCH more recognised than she already is...

    Utterly beautiful . . . impeccably gifted genius. I first heard her as one of Yanni's Voices in 2009 and she continues to impress with unbounded talent emotionalism and, passionate presentation. She's blessed listeners yet again . . . and I love the sincerity of her works.

    Your voice is so touching!❤what was the composition process like? I noticed there were mostly strings and piano and no percussive elements. What was the process behind this choice of instrumentation?

    • @chloeloweryofficial
      @chloeloweryofficial  6 месяцев назад

      The song was written on the piano and I collaborated with a producer here in Brooklyn. The idea was to keep the production simple so the lyrics and sentiment would shine through.

    Really nice song and video Chloe. Sorry the message needs to be put in song. Ive seen you hold an entire arena spellbound. So it wouldnt hurt for girls to be like you! I raised a strong independent daughter with tons of Love, respect, and strong arms to hold her close. To me, sadly too many girls receive none of that. Will see the show next week. Hope you are in it!

    I love your voice! Question: what is your writing process like for making music?

    • @chloeloweryofficial
      @chloeloweryofficial  6 месяцев назад

      Hey Brian - Thanks for your question - For me, I always write true to what is going on in my life. Music is a form of therapy or journaling. This song poured out of me within 10 minutes. I sat down at the piano and basically wrote this song from start to finish as a conversation. :)

    • @chloeloweryofficial
      @chloeloweryofficial  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks Alan - I worked with my team on the vision for the video. After several drafts, the idea came to me in the middle of the night. We wanted to keep the idea simple and and clear while having a universal appeal. We shot the video in about 6 hours.

      @@chloeloweryofficial Thank you for responding to my comment. I am honored. I am not a musician but I am in the entertainment business, I do educational parrot shows mostly at county fairs. Music though has been a huge part of my life since before high school. I have noticed that it is not always a great singer that makes a band successful. Look at Billy Idol who I believe was successful not only because of Billy Idols uniques vocals and Steve Stevens unique guitar combination. Heart would never have been anything with just Anne without Roger Fisher's guitar, especially on Magic Man and Barracuda. Aerosmith Steven Tyler was also a huge success because of the guitar work of Joe Perry, especially on Dream On. I love powerful music. The River is my favorite song even though it is not a particularly rocking song, it is amazingly powerful, largely because its Pink Floyd like guitar and background vocals. You two created some awesome music. I play Chameleon quite often today, one of my favorite playlists of modern music - a very short list. Few female vocals work well in powerful rock music - Melody of Liliac being a pretty rare exception. But you did, for different reasons. You and Andrew were like Billy Idol and Steve Stevens duo that let your powerful female vocals really work. It is such a shame to lose that from today's music world.

    What’s the story behind the song

  • @TheDanielhale
    @TheDanielhale 6 месяцев назад

    I am a super long time Yanni fan and first learned of you when you performed with him on the song/video called changes. I always felt a deep connection to that song and just wondered why you changed your hair color from what you had During the Yanni days because I think you looked so much better with the darker hair than the blonde. please don’t take this the wrong way, but the blonde looks too manufactured and fake and you are much better than that
