This was a really emotionally engaging episode for me too. Having the host speak and it not be a trick, it was heart-breaking. To realise that after all that the host was a tortured soul, yet still aware. it wasn't just an echo of who and what he used to be. I agree with you on that the Tok'ra, Lantash is a bit of a A-Hole, but the host, Martouf is someone who is intelligent and warm. A great episode with a new Goa'uld presence and an amazing performance by Peter Williams.
Hi, new to your channel. I was wondering if you would be continuing your SG-1 reactions? as i wouldnt want to get invested in these reactions if not. It really is worth it if you are undecided as it gets better and better.
Absolutely loving your Stargate reactions, I loved watching this show back when it aired and I'm loving seeing it again through your reactions. It really is like rediscovering it all over again. So few folks reacting to it (entirely understandable, it is a significant time investment after all) so all the more glad to have found your channel! Thanks for your time and effort making this series reaction a thing.
When I first saw this episode when it came out, I had the same thought as you about how they gave the host closure (Daniel giving him an Egyptian funeral ceremony reminds me of when they reburied Richard III) but then Martouf says Sokar can just revive him anyway. I did like the concept of Sokar's particle beam weapon penetrating the Iris though, that was clever.
Thank you, MC, for doing such a great job reacting to these episodes. I hope that we see you someday reach the end years from now. Keep on doing what you're doing! Take care! 😎☮
Cheering for you to reach 10K! Thank you for sharing! - Did you upgrade your camera or lights? The picture seemed so much clearer. Maybe it's the time of day, it looks like you are having a sunny day outside.
It's funny, Apophis was a minor regional Goa'uld who was kicked out of the System Lords some time ago. His attack on Earth, that SG1 barely averted, wasn't that strong of a force. Something that would have put Apophis back on the board. The destruction of these two ships was a huge blow. And here we see how that turned out.
I never really got into Stargate after the original movie. I liked that a lot. I really miss your reactions to Babylon 5. In my opinion, there has never been a better science fiction TV series. And maybe never will.
Apophis actor really did a great job here.
This episode is so good. Peter Williams does an outstanding job!

The little box that allows you stargate access to Earth is called a GDO, as Jack said. You should look up what it stands for. :)

Random trivia. Peter Williams applied for the role of Teal'c.
