Watching Mikey miss Larry in the restaurant hurts on an emotional level
So Fuecoco’s second evolution looks like it has a sombrero but it’s actually an egg in a nest. When it evolves into skeledirge the egg hatches and becomes a little bird that plays the keyboard on skeledirges snout. Its signature move torch song is the bird becoming a microphone and skeledirge sings into the microphone. Skeledirges singing launches the bird at the target turning the bird into a pheonix. Skeledirges singing has now boosted the strength of the bird as it allows it to become a pheonix when being launched. Thats why its Sp Atk. is boosted
Edit: @JtqsDraws mentioned how the bird references a symbiotic relationship between a bird that cleans a crocodiles teeth and the crocodile doesnt eat the bird. That bird is the Egyptian Plover bird.

The bird is a reference to a species of bird that has a symbiotic relationship with crocodiles, the birds clean the croc’s teeth and the crocs don’t eat them.

Yeah he is. I had him as my hardest gym with taking him on 3rd. Only won because of my Naclstack his Salt Cure, iron defense and a lot of super potions.
He was my answer in the interview part of the elite four. Then he shows up. I had time to remember hammer arm before I faced him and chose to remove my stone edge instead of earthquake/heavy slam/salt cure.
Then he says his gonna use all flying types. FLYING!!
Ig but they could’ve given him more of a personality than just bored man he kinda got on my nerves

I really like Terastalization. Unlike other battle gimmicks, it's not just the "win" button, but you have to actually think when to use it since it changes your types.
I agree! I love the concept of changing your type! When I was a kid I made up a pokemon that would permanently alter it's type depending on the moves of the pokemon it was around (whatever type/types were most common when it hatched would be it's type) but now I think it could simply be a pokemon with a special relationship with Terastalizing.
Honestly, the only thing that makes it not totally busted is that it can only be used once per battle. It gives a huge defensive utility in being able to change your type, _but keep your original STAB,_ as well. This can be super-useful for types with a lot of weaknesses, but that also cover meta-relevant threats. Like the Ice-type.
@@RabblesTheBinx also the plays people can do with abilities promote more strategy. One example is in the electric gym where iono uses a electric terra type mismagius with levitate
Especially in the raid. Just because it's another type, it doesn't change that shroom is still a shroom and will spore the whole team. xD

I’m cackling at the fact that Mikey just did not notice the gym leader sitting at the bar at the restaurant 😂 it was the first thing I saw when I went there for the test! When you’re playing thru a game for the first time you gotta speak to every NPC out there Mikey!!
16:40 Sometimes I wonder if having a Rival in the Pokemon world has it's own set of social rules similar to dating, like you have to prioritize your rival above other trainers for example.

Also, when he says "show you that life isn't about being true to yourself," that's a play on the name of the move he used right after: Facade. Basically a false front you present to the world
Funny story for the normal gym challenge, I accidentally skipped the dialogue and just followed the marker to the treasure eatery, I miraculously selected everything correct the first time and died laughing for the next 5 minutes

I love how he is complaining that he can't get up to get to the snow area when there are paths to get there but he doesn't know how🤣

Which understandable as the paths aren't all that clear in the snow area. Like if they actually had path routes in the mountain, even if they were just a darker white color, I would say gray, but I would assume that since it's snowy the routes would be snow covered so just a darker white haha
When I played and got to the snow area I was scared of everything because all the pokemon were high levels. I got to the gym and freaked... somehow I beat the gym.... as my 3rd gym. I found out later it should have been last. Now everyone is easy.
If you see the black arrow on any chat box, that means you can talk to them. It took me a little bit to realize that too. But the normal gym test was my fav part of this playthrough

In my opinion, I really like that you get climbing last because it forces you to explore more to find out how to get to other areas.
Fun fact: for Larry’s gym I just decided to guess it without a single clue and got in first try. I was in hysterics for a while after. Also it was easily the hardest gym for me
Some birds have a symbiotic relationship with crocodiles. They pick old meat from their teeth, so the croc won't get mouth infections. I think Skeledirge's bird is a reference to that.
You can't really see the bird during the battle especially after terastilizing
THey obviously wanted the starters theme to be performers because Meowscarada is a Magician (obviously) Skeledirge is a singer (We already guessed) and Quaquaval is a Dancer (given by how it moves)

Not just how it moves, Quaquval is based entirely on a Carnaval Dancer.
It’s very Spanish, I really like the starters for this region. Honestly I don’t see why they’re hated, none of them are bad imo.
there is no pokemon named quaquaval, quaxly is a single evoulution pokemon only quaxly exist there is no second to final form

Don’t worry too much about natures. When you get to Montenevera, (which, fun fact is a mashup of Mountain Everest just with some letters changed) the 6th gym area, you can buy nature mints for only 20,000 pokedollars each. That’s where I perfected my Pokémon’s natures. Oh and Tera Blast is super good if your Pokémon has a different Tera type. Once you get to Research Lab No. 4, there are lots of Glimmora, which you can defeat easily with Let’s Go Mode.

20:11 Skeledirge is based on a crocodile (liger crocodile I believe) who lets the Egyptian plover clean its teeth, the Egyptian plover gets food and the liger crocodile gets bacteria out of its teeth,
for people who didnt get why their a bird with skeledirge , The Egyptian plover is a bird that cleans the crocodile teets and i dig the design aspect of it
I'm pretty sure it isnt a specific order in which you get the upgrades for Koraidon, but rather it depends on the titan you just beat
The only thing is they locked the upgrades behind the titians with levels you can’t reach into a gym or 2

He catches a pokemon for each titan so he always has a type advantage and isn't useless like the characters in every other game
He usually only keeps Mabosstiff with him, and Mabosstiff can't battle, for obvious reasons. He keeps the rest in Boxes.
Skeledirge allegedly has a bird on its nose too, but it just looks like a flame to me. That’s what the nest sombrero on Crocalor turned into :) It’s because crocodiles are well known for having a symbiotic relationship with little birds who clean the insides of their mouths

Fuecoco's lore is when it evolves into Crocolor, (idk if i spelled that right) it gains a sombrero where the top piece is an egg. One it evolves into Skeledirge, the egg hatches becoming his friend.

1:01:00 - Fun fact: there is a dinosaur, that was actually found in Spain, called "Concavenator" that has that "sail" structure over its hips like Arctibax does. It's not related to Spinosaurus, but to a family of dinosaurs that include Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, and Acrocanthosaurus.
Mikey, every time Annihilape is hit with a move the BP of Rage Fist increases by 50. So you could end up with a 300 BP Rage Fist, if you survive 5 hits first. Pair it with Drain Punch

Primeape is one of my favorite Pokemon of all time, so seeing it finally get some special treatment in a new evolution made me so happy!
Not my favourite, but i'm glad it got love and hey it may give a reason for Ash to bring his primeape back!

Honestly primeape was due to have an evo cause in one game it says primeape gets so angry sometimes it can die. Anniliape embodies that primeape got so angry that it died or channeled that anger to become stronger creating the ghost type.
20:01 You probably don't know this Michael but Skeledirge actually has a Bird on it's nose that acted as a microphone when Skeledireg used that move.

In case anyone else has trouble finding Frigibax, I would recommend eating dishes that give you a greater chance of encountering dragon types.
I legit looked for Frigibax for an hour, got frustrated, ate some food at a nearby restaurant that increased my chances of finding dragons, and then immediately found FIVE Frigibax on the mountain.
I keep forgetting his merchandise advert is pre recorded, so when he made the "back in black" joke for the 5th time in a row, I actually said to myself "yes Mikey, we get the joke" lol 🤣
I loved how there was a cutscene mid battle!

That's interesting...my 5th gym was the ice one and this whole thing with Nemona happened there instead. So I guess the story follows how many badges you have, not which gym you're currently doing

I did the ice one 6th only because I messed up my level caps and thought it was the 6th one lmao still a great battle though. I can tell based on the dialogue that it was supposed to be the last one though, still won a cool 1v1 with my tera fire altaria at like 2 HP. And yeah dialogue changes for everyone depending on which amount of gyms you have, it must be like a public variable they call into the dialogue or something which isn't that difficult to code in with only 8 possibilities for each dialogue they mention how many gym badges you have. They even do it at the league so I'd imagine it's just something they implemented into the dialogue system.
Apparently the actual gym order according to levels is bug, grass, electric, water, normal, ghost, psychic then ice but the last 4 are close enough in level that it doesn't really matter what order you do them in.

Lemon was actually the first thing I figured out when I did it. I walked into the eatery first, and just walked around and talked to people

All the fully evolved started have a special move apon Evo the grass one is 70 base power can't miss and always crits so it's essentially always 105 base power it's a cool move

From what I have discovered, the abilities your legendary get is NOT based on how many titans you’ve beaten, but rather WHAT titan you’ve beaten
Like, you can (somehow) beat Great Tusk first or be it the last one you face, you’re always gonna be awarded gliding
