@@Thawhid Ortega literally got picked up off the ground after the 3rd by his coaches, which is against the rules and should've immediately counted as a TKO for Volkanovski. And then Ortega got an extra minute after the time out, so a doctor could look at him. All while Ortega was answering the questions wrong, until the very end when he answered one right. Ortega was getting fucked up

@Max Shirinov On UFC 2 he's amazing. I play with him online everyday and he's 92 rated, his striking is clean and his reach is very useful. I come up against Lawler more than half the time and GSP some other times.

For real. He only lost by TKO once and it was because his knee gave out vs Tyron Woodley. He took the biggest shots from some heavy hitters and never got knocked out

Might have to do with confidence. Sometimes it feels like a choke isn’t working, so they give it up to stay in the better position
@@francoisperne6824 lots of training in that position and underwater breathing made him last long enough for ortegas muscles to weaken and loosen his grip. Don't forget Ortega was wearing out at this point. Volk is mentally strong
3 factors made him survive that choke that would have slept 99,99 % of the world. Heart of a Lion, unlimited condition and the obvious he has no neck only a head.
Carlo's reaction when the stream crashed was priceless. It's when the lag comes in that you are truly tested.

We shared an experience🙌. I went from feeling Volk was going to submit ×3, to thinking Ortega was going to be the first death in an octogon😭. Rollercoaster of emotions that event was!

They made this fight look a lot closer than it was.
Ortega had some pretty tight submissions, it was close to being finished. Even Alex admitted he was gargling for air at one point.
Idk, Ortega’s face throughout the whole video makes it pretty obvious who was winning for casuals

The 3rd round was insanity, but outside of the two submission attempts it was Volkanovski beating the hell out of Ortega
As much as we all loved Chandler vs Gaethje, I think this fight is higher than it in the fight of the year discussion.
Carlos is by far one of my favorite ufc fighters. That fact the this guy isn't set for life. Mind boggles me. Ufc need to pay these fighters better!

@@zachnunes4072 as good as Chandler Gaethje was, I think I liked Holloway vs Rodriguez more. so fast paced, extremely competitive, crazy fight. Chandler vs Gaethje was a brawl and Chandler past a certain point was just eating shots. This year in general has been crazy for fights though
Round 4 Volk-Ortega is my lock for round of the year. Just an incredible back and forth round. Props to Volk for entering the lion's den of Ortega's grappling and surviving -- twice!

That's one of the greatest featherweight fight I have ever seen... I saw it live and coincidentally when Carlos got network issue, that's exactly the same time I got network issue 😂😂.... People talked about the guillotine but that triangle was also TIGHT AF. He did all the steps too from adjusting his leg to holding Volk’s leg to create the angle for the triangle. Volk is just a fucking beast man.

Easily one of the greatest fights to ever happen on this Earth, the fact Alexander was in a deep deep choke, for quite awhile man and he held on and was able to escape is absolutely mind boggling. That's the heart of a champion right there, no quit. Brian Ortega as well, what a fricken fighter. The skills are on another level.

Those final 2 minutes of round 3 are as good as it gets.
More anti-Volk bias from the UFC. He dominated the vast majority of the fight yet they chose to show more of Ortega’s highlights than his in that video
It’s not bias, the most impressive Volk did this fight was getting out of that choke, legendary stuff, never seen anything like it. If anything I’d say they really highlighted Volk’s toughness
@@AlWwW1 yes it was impressive but he did plenty more impressive stuff than that. They only showed one good shot out of the many he landed striking on the feet. Ortega’s face was a mess long before Volk pounded the shit out of it in the 3rd. Why not show any of how it ended up like that? Speaking of which, they didn’t show the barrage of g&p that Volk landed after getting out of the guillotine, only after getting out of the triangle. Both barrages were impressive. Bottom line is, if someone just watched this video they could come away from it thinking Ortega did more & should’ve got the decision when in reality the fight wasn’t even close. Anti-Volk bias
@@domoshea4104 I guess that's a good point, but in my eyes the way he got out of that choke was the most impressive thing. I don't think I can think of anybody else in the entire UFC that could've resisted that much. But the bottom line you mentioned it's true
@@AlWwW1 I agree that getting out of the choke was super impressive. I don’t agree it was the most impressive thing in the fight. To me Volk’s vastly superior technique & game planning over all 5 rounds was more impressive. But we can agree to disagree there.
And I’m not complaining that they showed the submission escapes. Honestly it would be crazy not to. My problem is that they showed basically everything good that Ortega did & almost none of what Volk did (bearing in mind that escaping submissions doesn’t score any points). The overall impression of the fight given by this video is completely different from reality. They even showed more of Ortega’s success on the feet, which is utterly ridiculous considering Volk dominated that department for the majority of the fight.
This video makes Ortega look way better & Volk look way worse than they both performed
