I really love the story of Chopin who re-used the same piece for multiple women! It shows us another side of him. He was not just an all-tragic figure. He had a fun-loving side that tends to be forgotten now.
YES! It's so true!
Thank you for a truly exceptional interpretation of this beautiful piece. I haven’t played it in years and decided to listen to your lecture before taking it up again. I have heard a lot of Chopin in my life but, in my opinion, you bring something special to anything that Chopin composed. I think that Chopin must be whispering in your ear while you are playing….
Thank you so much! I treat Chopin with respect and sensitivity
Very helpful. Thank you.
I didn't know you were such a great improvisor! bravo!! very inspiring Greg!
Aww, thanks! Yes, I like doing this sometimes !
The long melodic line you presented is amazingly beautiful. Thank you for your interpretation.
That was a wonderful presentation of Chopin's waltz! Thank you so much for the time and effort it took you to make this beautiful video! The improvisations of yours were amazing ! ( Agree with the other guy who commented about your improvisations) I'm also going to perfom this waltz for my piano exams this summer. I just love it! Thank God it was puplished! I wish you the best! Please keep making videos like this! 😊❣️
Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Your examples of improvising using the "first note" was funny. A cheerful analysis despite the sadness in this Waltz.
Thank you!!
A beautiful presentation that matches the beauty of this waltz. A very relaxing listening for a change

Niesamowite. Grzegorz , znowu niedzielę zaczynam z Twoim wykładem/prezentacją. Przesłucham też wstecz. Trafiłem na Twój kanał przypadkiem. Słuchałem wywiadu. Jutro/Dzisiaj również nie będzie sportu, lekko chory jestem i dzięki temu będę miał czas wcześniejszych prezentacji posłuchać. Top.!
Thank you for sharing this. I love it. ❤
Thank you. I have listened to several play this, but for me you play it perfect with the right I call hesitations. Maybe not correct terminology but works for me. It's such a moving piece and I feel you play it they way I feel it should be played.
Thank you!
Maybe you meant rubato
@@gregniemczuk perfect! A new word for me. Thanks.

thank you for really charming analysis! salon music! melody changed suddenly!
I'd like to play this waltz. thanks Greg.
Thanks for watching!
At about 9:00, did you just improvise in the style of Schumann? That was beautiful! May I request a video where it’s just you expanding on that improv and see where it goes it?! It’s extremely rare to see an expert classical musician improvise, and that too with such beauty and emotion! Maestro! Godspeed! Please keep it up!
And you did it again at 20:00! Chopin Waltz improv! WTH! Am I the only one fanboying over this?!
Yeeees! Thank you! Ok, I can think of recording a video like this. I love improvising!
hope you do one on the c sharp minor nocturne op Post.
I've already done that: ruclips.net/video/2rXnO-7r86o/видео.html
Thank you very much for this explanatory video Greg! But who's she at the right corner of your piano?
A lovely light-hearted video! Dr Greg - is there any suggestion in chopinology that this is actually a Mazurka put to another purpose? You yourself play many mazurka-time measures in the accompaniment - and they make the piece swing along cheerfully, which is its character. And I keep hearing overtones from one of the actual Mazurkas which I'm not able - without study - to identify.
Do you think it's mazurka-like rhythms? I'd say it's a Viennese Waltz... something that Viennese orchestras do a lot in Schubert. Mazurka rhythms are much sharper.
Bellissimo.
Sarebbe bello sentire una masterclass sull impostazione della mano al pianoforte, e sull uso delle leve, principi razionali e funzionali riguardo il peso. Magari secondo la didattica chopiniana
Grazie!
Sei un musicista straordinario, colto e raffinato.
E un eccellente didatta.
Grazie a Te.. Maestro.
5th “interval” ….poignant 💐🌺🌸
Greg , may I be rude to ask how tall are you ? You look a bit like Chopin - so says my wife ….
Probably a bit taller than him... I'm 180cm...
so he just wrote this to get laid? 😂
LOL. Probably!
