Personally I love the understated classy looks of this case, anyone can go super bling with a myriad of gamery RGB in your face cases but it’s really good to see both hardware and software for gamers and PC enthusiasts starting to compete with the likes of Apple or Razer for a minimalist and premium aesthetic. I would definitely consider buying one of these cases.
I think you stated exactly the use case for these cases. I like the design, silence is something important here and there are people still using dvd writers. I like it that there are clasic new cases in 2019
The option to replace the top mesh with a solid panel can be good for airflow. With a 240 size opening at the top a lot of the air from front fans can escape before even reaching any heatsinks.
That's always been my issue with exhaust fans at the top and side. Any air that goes through the case without getting in contact with components is wasted.
Looks like measuring noise with just decibels is kind of like measuring game performance with just average FPS. A lot of reviewers now include frametimes, maybe for noise some good mics and analysis across the audible frequency spectrum should become a thing?
Looks like the front is reasonably gapped, but with only one fan, I bet there is a fair bit of recirculation around the fan. maybe double front would be a better distribution of the included fans, even without replacing the rear one
I love the Silencio series. I got the older 352. Not a sleek as these new ones, but very silent with 3 BeQuiet SW3 fans and keeping my i7-4790 and GTX1070 nice and cool

Sound focused vs airflow is weird as GN has pointed out - with sound focused you have to turn the fans up to keep things cool while airflow focused you can turn them down lower because you can get air to the components more easily. I wanna see a hybrid case with sound dampening and a mesh front!!

The choice is between the x570s, x470, or even a b450.
CM STACKER 830 still a great case! Aluminium, mesh top, sides, and front. Removable reversible MB-trey, takes BTX, 4x120mm + 4x120/140mm fans. Show me a better one! Nice video!
It your going to test a case with cooling challenges, It would be really nice to see more configurations of fans tested. Like what if you add larger 140mm fans which the front and top supports? What if you add 3 front fans? Finding a working configuration would be helpful.
I like the design of the Silencio S600, especially the smaller sidepanels with lots of quality noise dampening material! But I really wish they would have released a larger version of this case with 140mm front and back fan support, lets say 3 cm wider, +2cm for the larger vents, +1cm for more space behind the motherboard tray for easier cable managment. Maybe slightly less metal upfront for more fan placement options and better airflow. Also keep the 5.25 drive bay but move it higher so the front upper intake fan could be in line with the cpu fan.
Sometimes better airflow and better cooling will result in lower fan speeds so lower noise. That’s why I prefer to have airflow as it’s probably quieter than having dampening.
If you want a silent system then you require a good airflow so put a proper side grill on the case through which the front-fans can suck in air. 140 mm fans with silent bearings (2 on the front and one on the back), a PSU with a good 140 mm with silent bearings, a graphics card with a good heatsink and good fans and indeed some foam for the high frequency pitches. It is not difficult, they should quit reinventing the wheel. This case of Coolermaster will work fine with low power hardware but that is not good enough for me, it should also be silent when you put in a 9900k/3950X and Radeon VII.
I'm thinking of maybe one of these for my rig, or the NR600. I'm just worried mostly about the NR600 being a pain in the neck to clean with a mesh front.
all these silent cases ever do is kill some of the high frequency noise, the high mass and property of the bitumen stickers also prevent low freq reverberations, so you don't get a boomy noise when the fans are running. Its maybe good to kill pump noises if you run water cooling, with very slow fans. But the fans and mechanical noises from the HDDs are almost not dampened, so these cases are useless anyway for most people and just run hot. just stick to a lot of fans running, on big heatsinks, at a low speed inside high airflow cases

The ODD slot looks like crap. Why do they still exist in 2019? Also the cheap filter at the bottom is unacceptable at this price point. The same filter can be found in $30 cases. The hard drive cage at the bottom is restricting psu size and cables coming out from psu, again a major flaw.
The hdd cage is adjustable/removable. The filter, yeah... i got nothing. the ODD slot, ugly sure, (not that you can see it with the door closed) but is the reason I bought this over a fractal or nzxt.
all the reviews slate the temperatures but don't have proper fan config its annoying, if i buy this case i would have 2 intake at the front, 1 exhaust at the back and 2 exhaust at the top. this is the case i want because its clean design and glass panel doesn't show the psu area. i want to see thermals with proper fan config. also no one does thermals with aio coolers or custom loops. no other case is designed as clean in the mATX category except for the h400 but the glass panel shows the psu area and i dont like the cable management thing they have in the front of the case. the enthoo evolv is ok but again has the full glass panel and even worse has a cutout in the psu cover.
I dont know a single person that would do a new build and not fill the case with noctuas or cougars. The thought of knocking a case because of its included fans (or lack there of) is incomprehensible to me.
You want a glass panel go with nr series.... what is this .let cooler master to know that is not silence when we are talking about more than 40 decibels .as about the price I would like not to say something about it (pricy for cooler master).
Gamers Nexus found that silent cases can actually be louder than more open cases because the fans have to spin so much faster to keep thermals in check
@@chrisr6950 Stock fans as they come with the case, 1 front intake, 1 rear exhaust. I tried adding another front intake and turning the psu 180 degrees so it's fan acts as an exhaust for the gpu right above it. The case just has very poor airflow.
Just get two 120 mm Noctua NF-S12b redux fans to the front and one of the same fan to the back. Problem solved. Awesome airflow, very silent, 6 years of warranty. Noctua. o/
I personally don't see the point of these cases. Fans aren't that noisy nowadays with PWM control and optional fan controllers. Even HDD's seem to be a bit quieter nowadays. I had an Arctic Cooling Silentium years ago, which was a great solid case and a very clean looking design but it was just a heater for the components.
that's why my Fractal Design case has been demoted to a backup role, it's 10 times better to have a fully meshed front case and therefore well cooled system if you want to have a silent system than using a "silent" case that will foce the computer to ramp up the fans because it's thermal throttling
silence cases always bad for performance builds... airflow cases sometimes even more silent since fans don't need to do work to move the air. i love silent gaming and recommend meshify s2
"silent" high performance cases aren't so much about blocking all the noise, but blocking the unwanted noise. My define r5 blocks all the annoying coil whine from my 970 and it's higher pitched fans, and all I hear is a low hum from the case fans set at a constant speed, which doesn't even change depending on load. The only annoying noise that still escapes is my hard drives spinning up on occasion. Plus, when I want high airflow I just open the door and it's basically a meshify.
For those prices they are not a good deal when there is plenty of competitive manufacturers out there that will have more features and a lower price. Honestly you should all compare deep cool matrexx 55 to this and ask yourself why you should pay $100 when a $45 tower has the same features.
Personally I love the understated classy looks of this case, anyone can go super bling with a myriad of gamery RGB in your face cases but it’s really good to see both hardware and software for gamers and PC enthusiasts starting to compete with the likes of Apple or Razer for a minimalist and premium aesthetic. all the reviews slate the temperatures but don't have proper fan config its annoying, if i buy this case i would have 2 intake at the front, 1 exhaust at the back and 2 exhaust at the top. this is the case i want because its clean design and glass panel doesn't show the psu area. i want to see thermals with proper fan config. also no one does thermals with aio coolers or custom loops. no other case is designed as clean in the mATX category except for the h400 but the glass panel shows the psu area and i dont like the cable management thing they have in the front of the case. the enthoo evolv is ok but again has the full glass panel and even worse has a cutout in the psu cover.
7:17 My man on them trees heavy
Tone - well he’s not too far from Nimbin... 😂
I can't believe you put a Threadripper in this case.
i hope your dry spell clears up soon! cheers from fremantle
Why don't they just stick the sound dampening material to the structure , instead of the panels ?
I hope they add more fans for the same price !!!
I wonder if it stays silent with Vega 64 inside :)
Basically a h500 from nzxt? I mean thats what these cases remind me of
Get rest,great video !!
Gamers Nexus found that silent cases can actually be louder than more open cases because the fans have to spin so much faster to keep thermals in check
I don't recommend these Silencio cases as they run hot, my Silencio 352 has been running with the side panel off since day one.
Thanks for sharing
what is your fan config?
@@chrisr6950 Stock fans as they come with the case, 1 front intake, 1 rear exhaust. I tried adding another front intake and turning the psu 180 degrees so it's fan acts as an exhaust for the gpu right above it. The case just has very poor airflow.
Just get two 120 mm Noctua NF-S12b redux fans to the front and one of the same fan to the back. Problem solved.
Awesome airflow, very silent, 6 years of warranty. Noctua.
o/
Yea, probably need 2 front, one top input and back out and top back out.
Wow. First in. I'm sure I'll be third or more by the time I finish typing and watching. Nice Threadripper!
2019 cases and they have 5-inch hole for CD-roms and other stuff... Too bad, Coolermaster.
Like the clean looks don't like the temperatures. At this price they must include 3 good fans.
5:13 nice vape rip bro
I really prefer the nr variants. I want to buy an nr400 for my Pentium machine(although I will upgrade it to an i5 soon.
"i am not stoned" ;)
that's why my Fractal Design case has been demoted to a backup role, it's 10 times better to have a fully meshed front case and therefore well cooled system if you want to have a silent system than using a "silent" case that will foce the computer to ramp up the fans because it's thermal throttling
im just off work and idk about you but i am definitely getting stoned
silence cases always bad for performance builds... airflow cases sometimes even more silent since fans don't need to do work to move the air. i love silent gaming and recommend meshify s2
Too bad they didn’t make a case with the same idea but then leave a vent in the top uncovered and make the vents in the front bigger.
For those prices they are not a good deal when there is plenty of competitive manufacturers out there that will have more features and a lower price. Honestly you should all compare deep cool matrexx 55 to this and ask yourself why you should pay $100 when a $45 tower has the same features.
Not only will it be quieter, it'll also run like an oven
RGB makes temps go down 10 degrees....
