The fact that the JOKER becomes the leader of an army of vampires while still being human himself goes to show that The Clown Prince Of Crime is no "joke"
Jesus Christ the good lord loves you my friend :" )
Joker is a Joke
@@Crucial_4orce the only joke is Batman. Since when are rich humans super hero’s? 😂😂😂
@@PsychGirlRaven Batman is a joke because even with his inventions and contingencies he still would need a lot of luck to not be killed by everyone who can speed blitz and do anything before he can press a button. Just because he prepped does not mean he will survive. Popularity is what saves him every time
@@Crucial_4orceso what’s the joke about Batman? Just because of that? Both aren’t a joke In my opinion tbh.
"I Can't Believe It's Not Blood!"

@@GreaterGrievobeast55 i was responding to Ty Gill.
I remember the first time I read this. I was 8-10 and found it in the CHILDREN'S section of my local library and immediately flipped to the page where Batman kills the Scarecrow.
Gotta learn early, I guess.
Your library messed up.
*"How insane have I become...?"* Says Batman as he carries away 9 severed heads attached to a rope.
I'd love an animated adaptation of this trilogy. DC did an animated Gotham by Gaslight and are rumoured to be working on Superman: Red Son, so maybe there's a small chance.
However, the one thing that is probably stopping it is the insane amount of gore (especially in Crimson Mist), it would be rated 18 no doubt. But its a horror comic after all. I've always loved Kelley Jones' artwork too. There's something eerily fascinating about Batmans look, the ears and cape especially, like the cape itself has a life of its own and the ears are more like demonic horns. Combine that with Batmans fall from grace and you've got what is without a doubt one of the scariest alternate versions of him ever created.
They wont make one of this because there's too much blood and detailed eviserated scenes and we all know they wouldnt go this far into it, so I wouldnt hope for something thats never gonna happen
@@Cruddy129 Riiight Have you seen the Justice League Darksied war. where the majority of heroes and Villains are Brutally Mutilated Eaten Alive decapitated and dismembered. as in aquaman got bisected Hal Jordan eaten alive Bat Girl Ripped Limb from Limb. and bane and Mera Getting Ripped in half by the waist.
@@Cruddy129 you haven't seen Justice League Dark: Apokolips War or either of the Suicide Squad movies, have you? WB isn't afraid to get bloody, unlike Disney.
There IS kind of an adaptation of this story, it's called Batman vs Dracula
@@jerwwilliamsThe apokolips one and the old suicide squad was gore lite. Suicide Squad 2021 is definitely gorey. I hope continue with that angle.
OMG THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AAMMAAZZIINNGG!!! no one has really ever done this series, besides comicstorian but he just does a fairly quick summary. Great work!
I love how Batman finds it so weird and hard to believe that A: Vampires are real, and B: Fighting them.
You know SUPERMAN. You're a part of the FUCKING JUSTICE LEAGUE. You have met the SPACE POLICE and the ANGEL OF VENGEANCE.
Actually, you've MET VAMPIRES BEFORE
YOU LITERALLY HAVE
It's possible that in this Elseworlds universe, this particular Batman (a) might be the only superhero in existence and (b) may never have encountered vampires before the events of this trilogy.
Man I remember reading this. The beginning always reminded me of a dc comic dark and brooding gothic and the last act was like reading a dark horse comic just death and gore in the corner panels. Good times
Alfred is such a homie, he really didn't deserve to die that made me actually sad
42:34
Joker: "You cannot have all vampires strength and none of the weaknesses."
Vampire Batman: "I can... BECAUSE I AM BATMAN!"
And the entire time he's bragging about how pure he still is, Vampire Batman is clearly losing control and acting like a predator.
Plot armor i hate Batman and idea of a good vampire this makes no sence
@@FriendlyGhost-rf7tqNo not really they outright explain it in the comic. That's why he rushes out after killing Joker
@@reidmason2551 Compared to what every vampire has done, Batman's a downright saint.
Edit: Before killing Joker, of course.
Blade: Hold my beer
Batman: "this time I'm not minutes or moments too late"
Old woman dead on the ground: 👁️👄👁️
25:04 Watching the Joker of all people use holy water and crosses is something I never thought I'd see.
They should have really done a new sequel. Red Hood: Vampire Hunter.
Yeah that sucks that they didn’t do that
@@MegaRhinosaur what?
I think this comic actually shows why Batman shouldn't kill. I've never bought that whole, "if you kill a murderer there is still a murderer in the world." I think the fact that Batman/Bruce Wayne is not mentally stable enough to kill someone without succumbing to a bloodthriwtbthats within him. That too me is much more interesting and dark.
Think about it, Bruce Wayne is clearly not a mentally sound person, and if he were to kill someone, even if they're as evil as joker, he'd no doubt never stop; he'd kill literally every villain and criminal in Gotham, and day he may be wrong, one day he may kill someone who really didn't deserve it, and then he'd become the kind if monster that took away his childhood from him.
Even before going to that extreme, his sympathy and the way he humanizes his enemies, even if they're horrible monsters, allows them the chance to redeem themselves. After all they maybbe a good person after all pushed to crime by poverty, blackmailing, pressure from family and community, ext. Alot of people simply need another chance and to be shown sympathy. On the other hand, with people like Joker who are irredeemable, he gives the city a chance to act on its own accord and deliver justice. A noble act that makes Batman's crusade against crime more about saving and redeeming Gotham's soul rather then simply ending all crime.
I really like that explanation! It's deeper and makes sense with the cycle of violence.
I always like that reason because I mean he fights crime as a bat costume he is definitely not mentally sound.
To play devils advocate (though I think you're right), if I kill 11 murderers, the world is -10 murderers. The more you kill, the better the world becomes! 🫠
@@03inheaven98 So in this case Batman doesn't kill, even if its someone who deserves it, because he believes it will make him start justifying killing senselessly?
@@03inheaven98 That's what Red Hood is for.
He's got his own issues, but not to the point of becoming a psychotic murderer after 1 kill
You'd think Tanya would've told Batman how to prepare a proper blood substitute before going kamikaze on Dracula
Did she know Bruce was a vampire?
@@concept5631 she was the one who turned him.
I love how the theme's for Salem's Lot and Nosferatu (both from 1979) were incorporated in this at the almost perfect timing
Why haven't they made an animated film for this yet?
@@JonNada99 Because they've already done a similar film. The Batman vs Dracula (2005).
Man I love your Vampire Batman voice. It's just like the Batman hallucination from Batman Begins
Indeed! That's why it sounded so familiar!😀
1:00:27 nice handwriting for something that's written in blood, batman is truly talented.
I always liked this costume but I just imagine him scraping his ears on a low ceiling.
"all criminals are vampires to me, gotta go"
Can I just take a moment to applaud the V/O acting it's really something special that adds to the atmosphere of the store as a whole
Lol!!! I loved your Batman’s response to “why are you asking so much about (vampires) anyway?” Actually made me laugh out loud!
Hearing that response makes me just imagine regular batman always coming up with the lamest excuse of making criminals a metaphor for everything before just disappearing
This seriously doesn't get enough recognition. Your work is AMAZING. This is my first time hearing about vampire batman, and I decided to give the comic a go. I seen this video in my search results of the comic and decided to try it. Here I ended up watching this for an hour and eleven minutes, and have ZERO regrets. I don't know how such a well voiced dub and such an AMAZING summary only got 148 likes and 28 comments. This is truly phenomenal. I'm definitely gonna be a suscriber here. Keep up the legendary work 😁👍
37:29 is it me or does the rat look like he's smiling as Batman is about to bite his head off?
The mist ending song at the end of the video nice
Awe Smokey, a 1hr+ video about Batman! You’re way too good to us!
This is too graphic for my kid...he'll love it.
It is interesting how the first ending is darkly triumphant, the second is melancholic, and the third is just depressing.
Getting bit by a bat then: gee I hope I don’t turn into a vampire
Getting bit by a bat now: well corona, it’s gonna be quite a treat
This version of Batman is most definitely from the dark multiverse
Nah
I have no clue about your other content, but you did this story such true justice with the tools you have, and THAT is worth liking, subbing, and sharing with my friends. Thank you.
Never thought I'd enjoy this art style, but fuck, I'm in love
Dude I found this channel on a complete whim but it's absolutely fantastic keep up the excellent work!
Glad you enjoy it!
I stumbled upon this channel with What Is Kingdom Come, and I gotta say, I absolutely love your voice work and story telling. May be my new favorite comic retelling channel

Bro. Fuckin. Jump scare warning for that bat in the beginning. That was a nightmare.
It would've made more sense for Tim Burton to make the movie version of this
This is literally the most amazing read-aloud I have ever EXPERIENCED. Please keep up the good work.
I enjoyed it alot, I remember reading this back in 95 forgot all about it till now lol. Thanks for the great narration & effort you put into it 👏
Batman fits so well with myths and legends
Bro I love this comic i remember finding it in the library in Bronx when I was a kid and I fell in love with the story and I tried to find it again one day when I got way older and was living in NJ at the time but couldn't remember the name. And now I do and I plan on buying a copy of this
This Actually Predicted Robert Pattinson For The Batman

it's like some teen edgelords fanfic.
Batman kills dozens of people, but he didnt drink blood so he is "pure"
That is how it works
Yeah, looking back on this I’m quite disappointed. I expect it to be dark, have horrible elements but not edgy-lord vibes.
Vampires aren't people and they aren't alive. They're undead.
What is it with Batman and the oversized moon? ; p AMAZING video once again Smokey!
Subscribed b/c of this.
Nostalgia: I only was able to get the first chapter at the public library when I was young and yes the art.
Thank you for making me able to see the other two with some awesome effort that shines, really.
Side note: you into Cam Kennedy's and Chuck Darrow's artwork?
I laughed at the "my throat is gonna be horrible tomorrow *chugs water*" part I wasn't expecting it 🤣
Got to love the humourous commentary that oozes from this video, it's a really good reading in all honesty, keep it up.
got this comic when I was like 13 years old from a public library, 23 now and its still one of my favs
49:30 LMAOO the big man reminds me of the Violator from Spawn
Loved the Nosferatu soundtrack! A very nice touch! Popol Vuh is a heck of band!
How much better would this comic have been if Batman had a huge beer belly after the fight with Croc because Croc was clearly two to three times the size of Batman like that's so much blood it would have been hilarious
Interesting
This would make for a great trilogy of animated films.
I love the Joker in this one he seems like an evil shemp
28:20 Yo, that’s a fucking good tactic.
You rip your own heart out to stun/shock someone so you can close in on them. Not really sure if it’s worth to use it on a no name, since it seems like a pain in the ass if you wanted to use it again, as you’d have to practice & plan. Doesn’t seem like something good the good old glue and duct tape trick will work.
Edit: nvm. Glue and duct tape always works, if it doesn’t mean you just didn’t use enough
Imagine what this would look like in live-action
I haven't finished the video but I'd imagine Batman could just set up like getting a blood pack or two per day
Alternate title: Schizophrenic corpse dressed as cross-eyed bat begs his friends to kill him, proceeds to kill everyone but himself
Yup
Edit: It’s a shame you don’t have more subs. The effort you put in is clear as day. You’re quality is on point. You actually add to the comics which is an impressive feat alone.
Silver Batarang smacks his undead ass.
56:44 I guess Crane didn't need to be hit with his own toxin to succumb to fear lol
When a giant bat demon is in front of you, anything is possible.

45:48 Chapter 3 - Crimson Mist
Hr long vid, thanks for helping me secretly pass the time at work
I feel really bad for the lady he keeps getting information from, window repair isn't cheap...
It be great if Batman has that Vampire powers for good then he really be a real Batman
Imagine if robin was in this universe I think he would've fought a bunch of vampires but just get instantly killed by Dracula
Technically Dick is in this universe, he showed up in the "Search for Ray Palmer" issue about the Vampire Batman.
You should do What Is... Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, the comic not the walkthrough you played Arkham Asylum game.
Batman vs Edward Cullen would be a badass story line
So Batman vs New 52 Lobo?
Only 16k followers? Underrated. Keep it up broski
Great video! and Channel. Wish i came across you sooner, but I guess now i can binge-watch your back catalogue of vids.
I dont understand why its so hard for batman to just ask for Donated blood? Or he could just keep an I.V. Vein drip-kit with him, and “Blood-Tax” every criminal he beats up, draining a portion of their blood whenever they are subdued or knocked unconscious. Maybe even get Alfred and Gordon to start-up some sort of blood-drive, to get blood donated for Batman’s continued sustenance.
Seems like the most ethical way for him to go about it 🤷🏽♂️
You do a great job with the voice acting as well as the voice over!
seeing batman become a vampire is fucking awesome, and jesus his fucking arms are long as shit lol

I got the first chapter as a stand alone book - to me it has always being Red Rain and Kelley Jones absolutely nails the art. Never heard of the sequels! Life is sweet!
I love the part where he is impaled with a stake and says " this is my death how long have I lived it " while there is this creepy back round

This as such parallels Blade for some reason , only substitute the butler as the hero and have the rich person in the support role. Would make much more sense but it would keep reminding me of magnum P.I. for some reason.
So uh... This is kinda off topic, but um... Tanya is really hot. It would have been awesome to see more of her in later vampire Batman stories.
