Almost 40 years ago, l and friends l was travelling with, were at a disco in, l think, Andalusia and the DJ put on a flamenco record. Every single person on the floor (apart from us) instantly stamped their foot and put their arms in the air. Although there were some families and some children most of the people were in their 20s, like us, and we thought they were having a laugh but, every single person danced flamenco until the song ended. It was the most amazing sight and l've never forgotten it.

anybody who thinks this is poorly done has no idea what they're talking about. Flamenco is HARD. You are learning multitasking in the extreme, all while keeping rhythm and playing an instrument (with your feet). Unless you are a dancer you should probably shut your mouth and walk a mile in their shoes (literally) before you even think about commenting on this beautiful dancing.

yes, anyone who really knows Flamenco and been around the culture knows there is not really a right or wrong way to dance Flamenco, the most important aspect of the dance and music is feeling the compas (rhtthm) and expressing your own unique style. Some are more expressive, or more emotional than others at the time, just depends on how they are feeling that night. The dance is about expressing emotions while you mark the time in the music.

Well, as someone who Did try to learn Flamenco, I think you have confirmed the fact that this is not very good. There were better people in my beginners class. Some of whom went on to become teachers and performers. In Spain. This is just another tourist rip off. The woman in black isn't too bad, but there is an awful lot of tap in there! The cream shoed women just basically stamp their feet! When she Did do a step I was thinking, 'Yeah ,that was the first one I was taught .Is that it? what happened to Brazeo? Hang onto your skirt instead! Also they don't work together. 'Best Flamenco I ever saw' should maybe read 'Only Flamenco I ever saw' Try this instead ruclips.net/video/snBp1UWUFek/видео.html As you are such an afficianado I think you such spot the difference,.

Well then, if the dance is all about expression of feelings, I guess we can all as audience express our opinions as well. I enjoyed the video overall. My favorite dancers use correct form for starters. That starts with posture, brazeos, distinction of footwork, etc. For me, if form is not a factor, I don't care how care how many "feelings" are being expressed. It just looks like drama to me, and it's not that interesting.

What i’m trying to say is, yes it has influence from Roma, but flamenco is only a spanish tradition that originated in spain as a mix from many countries, and those countries don’t share the same tradition. Wonderful nights spent with Jose, his guitarist , and lovely lady. He was a magician! Performing twirls and leaps that seemed to defy gravity. Go research the technicalities of flamenco cante - they sing in differently keyed tones to regular western singing. The person who states that after one class they did better is truly a genius and I'm wondering on which international stage we should be seeing them. I suppose since flamenco is partly derived from Spanish Romani culture (and Romani migrated from Northern India centuries ago), this familiarity makes sense. Whatever the subliminal reasons, my senses find it (and this performance) captivating. 🌹

If art was the prize possession of one people it would never develop. The Romani gypsies did not exist in a vacuum. They picked up multiple influences from Andalusian culture that was already well established in the 15th century when they arrived. You could just as well argue they appropriated the surrounding Andalusian culture: the bullfight you see clearly in their posturing, Mozarabic chant, northern "Gallic" liturgies and the Jota to name but a few influences; none of which originate with them. Our world would be vacuous and miserable if people are not permitted to use or interpret each others' art forms (if it was even possible to establish whose was whose in the first place).

For the guitarist to truly accompany the dancer and singer is much different than playing flamenco guitar alone in a concert setting.

Bravissime e bellissime what a performance WOW, such passion and sensuality. To me flamenco is a mix of Gipsy and Arabic cultures as you can clearly find in certain areas of Spain. I really enjoy it thanks!

They were all outstanding but the lady in red...she was feeling it so deeply...or, maybe I felt I could feel her saying things to me and it was so visceral she sent me somewhere. I can’t explain it.

The dancing & the playing is very well done. One doesn’t know how much work it takes to perform such outstanding performance unless you have done it yourself. I have been to Japan & seen their performance also l have met a flamenco guitarist. After that I bought an album & copied the music on cassette for keepsake.

I saw a show downtown Seville a few years ago. Just amazing. The show in Barcelona was good as well but we seated way behind as opposed butted up against the front of the stage in Seville. The dancers dress “tresses” came within a few inches of my wine glass. Not to mention the wood chips being kicked up from the stage. Nothing, in my opinion beats the gypsy flamenco for style, poise and passion.
