I don’t understand how Trump is brought into everything. We don’t hear about Biden’s involvement, or Biden refusing to demand Menendez step down.

It's not his Biden's job to ask for a Congressman to step down (separation of powers, remember?). That's Congress' job, and the Senate Dems did ask, but he refused. Until he's actually convicted, they can't kick him out. But as you can see, they kicked him out of the primary for reelection.
