Fair foods are unique to the fairs they represent. THAT is what makes them special.
Holy Moly, all these dishes are so monstrous in size and definitely a share type dish. Probably like it would feed four people for most of those dishes. So much food in one area!!! Ohhhhh that Bacon Cinnamon Roll and Deep Fried Snickers!!! Yummmmmm, Snickers is my favorite candy bar. And YES gotta try it with Ice Cream!!!! That Funnel Cake was so huge!!! Gotta be from Texas!!! What a total Smorgasborg, gotta spell check!!! Total tempations at this Fair!!! Great VLOG!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I'm so hungry!!! Aloha!!!

The blooming onion is just a big, whole onion cut a certain way and the entire thing is coated and deep fried.

My family and I are going to the Texas State fair, the weekend of the 5th of Oct., my Birthday is Oct. 6th. They try to win out of all other State Fairs, the best and strangest fair food. We will see!

I go to the Texas State Fair each year and it’s definitely not the best fair when it comes to food anymore. Not going this yr due to the last 2yrs being meh. Spent too much money not enjoying the new food options they were promoting. Plus, when they run out of a good one you’re screwed. You have to wait hrs to get it. This is due to them only selling one particular item at one stand in the whole fair. I hope you enjoy your time at the fair. 🤞that the food is worth it this yr. I love the food Bill and Lisa purchased.

I remember when I was in high school over forty years ago, I entered my drafting drawings at the OC Fair. I had drafting classes in high school. I won a few blue ribbons and a trophy. Nobody does drafting drawings on paper any more; not for a long time. It feel like it was only half that time that passed. Now I'm looking at retiring in a few years.
Back in the day, there was a special cutter used to slice up a white, sweet onion which was then submerged into ice water, causing it to spread or “bloom”. It would be allowed to drain briefly, then dipped in batter and deep fried. That produces one of my most favorite things on this earth and it hurts me so BAD!!! Gives me indigestion every time but I can’t help it. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do! 😱

The bacon pork belly was amazing, tried it at The San Diego County Fair. As always a corn on the cob from the fair hits the spot. My favorite are the loaded Australian battered potatoes. You have a lovely family ❤

I walked by the bacon wrapped turkey leg every weekend and wondered.. I work for my friend every year and avoid all the food except the pork chop, pro tip slice it thin..and the cookies sold from lucky 13 Sweets and treats.. her cookies keep me going through the 13hr days.. their booth is in crafters village. Next year.. oatmeal peanut butter and jelly cookies.. OMG!!

How much was the Blooming Onion?? All food looked fantastic but too expensive for me, unfortunately. Good to take a "wrecking crew" with you to split it up. Able to try more things that way too! Glad I could go there vicariously through you guys, thanks Bill & Lisa.

Thanks! I so enjoyed this. I love these fairs. I've been the State fair in San Diego(used to be Del Mar fair) I remember going on a few rides yet I don't remember the food. I'm back in Connecticut now , where the county fairs are begging. Some are small-medium size to big. Just over the Massachusetts line is The Big E, it showcase all the New England states. i think it goes on for 2 wks. You have pay for parking and admission. I'm glad your family came with you to help. It did very expensive for most things. I like the ending shots of all the rides at night and other things.

The OC Fair has been closed for over a week now 😭 This made me miss it so much! This year we liked the adult beverages the most 😍 We didn’t enjoy those cookies, they tasted off to me lol

Don’t think they do, just a Fair vendor.
Sadly they closed Outback on Oahu. I would go and eat the onion blossom and the key lime pie. No steak.
