metallica has covered Iron Maiden songs, so probably have heard them before, wothout knowing it😜 Iron Maiden is the GREATEST(live;)BAND in the world now and forever🤘 Up the mighty Irons!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Awesome band live. Always put on a great show even after all these decades. “Hallowed be the Name, Power Slave, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Fear of the Dark”…. Up the Irons!
Another great reaction. I appreciate you taking a few minutes at the end to look into the song bc when it came out, we had no way of even getting the lyrics, unless they came with the album. Then when you read actual quotes from the artists, it really brings the song to life, for me. I've been jammin to this album since it came out, and to learn things about something that's been near to my heart for over 40 years really brings me back to my youth a little bit. Thanks so much, Shawn. And of course more Maiden!! Aces High is one of my favorites! Peace and love, brother. Oh yeah...this is what you can tell the haters. Don't let the door hit ya, where the Good Lord split ya!
Townes Van Zandt was a great songwriter! "I'd stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots to tell him Townes Van Zandt was America's greatest songwriter" - Steve Earle :P
I saw them in Long Beach California where I lived at the time I’m in Santa Monica now but they played 4 nights from Thursday to Sunday and I was there all four nights in 1985. They filmed 🎥 the shows for what became the Live After Death cd/dvd! My favorite Bruce Dickinson moment: SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH ARENA!!! UP THE IRONS!!!😎😎😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I got to see Iron Maiden and Judas Priest together at Madison Square Garden in 1982. Neither of those bands were opening bands, so we Metal Heads said they both headlined It was a Metal paradise!! 🤘🖤
Those two bands are linked for me - I was introduced to both around the same time and I used to always put similar vibes on each side of a cassette tape. lol
Oh the bassist Steve Harris is sort of the leader, he writes most of the songs, so the bass parts are real cool. Also I recommend a comedy film This Is Spinal Tap. About a British band, and Iron Maiden seems to be one of the inspirations
Shout out to the bass for sure! This song always was so fun and banging despite the dark themes for me. Eddie and those covers made an impression as well in high school. Judas Priest as well....
Thank you for watching Iron Maiden song, thank you for reading lyrics and thank you for reading background. It's one my favourite bands from earlier 80-ties. They never shines in US because of misunderstanding title and being threat as satanic band. UP THE IRONS!
You'd probably be interested in checking out some of the Iron Maiden/Metallica history from back in the early and mid-80s. Maiden released their first album 3 years before Metallica's first. All members of Metallica were huge Maiden fans back then. But it went from musical influence to band management mentorship when Metallica perceived Maiden as a professional, first-rate operation and themselves as needing to get their shit together to take full advantage of their musical talent. It worked. To this day, Lars considers Maiden's contribution to Metallica's success invaluable.
Hay Shawn, thanks for reacting to iron maiden number of the beast. Excellent choice. Food for thought. Iron maiden came out a little before Metallica. Peace.

The bassist seen Omen 2 and had a nightmare and he wrote this song based on his nightmare.

Yes, and they're making a sequel to "Spinal Tap."
On a related note, Christopher Guest, who plays their guitarist (and directed many comedies) has long been married to famous actress Jamie Lee Curtis

Great old school Dallas Cowboys logo cap!!!
……my 1st Maiden album ❤️ “Up The Irons” ⚒ (666) 🎸🔥❤️
Thanks!
Absolutely 🤘

Steve Harris wrote this song after having a nightmare after watching the Omen 2. My bad, you got to it👍🏼

I doubt that is live.
Obviously not. Its the official video.
Check out 'Hallowed be thy name' from the same album. Again, go for the video/album version, not live.
The live from 1982 I think is better than the studio version
