My first gala of 2024 and a trip to the Severn Valley Railway. The SVR gala's are always busy and this was no exception even with the weather we had been having, and floods across the country.
In steam:
LMS 2968 - Returning after over haul
GWR 7812 Erlestoke Manor - Returning to the SVR after a years loan to the West Somerset Railway
LMS 43106 - Last gala apperance before boiler ticket expires
SR 21C127 Taw Valley - Last gala apperance before intermediate overhaul
GWR 7714 - On local services from Bridgnorth
BR 75069
S160 2253 Omaha was visiting, but delcared a failure the day before and no longer running at the gala.

Thank you for posting. I didn't manage to get to the SVR in the end this weekend, so good to see that it looked pretty busy & hopefully good revenue for the railway 😊
I was here on the same day and I came here to see the stanier mogul on it’s welcome return and the last appearance for taw valley and the flying pig
43106 is an Ivatt 4 steamy rightly nicknamed Flying Pig. Looks like you had a good time, and the SVR was on your bucket list somewhere along the line. I've yet to visit the railway, as it is my favourite preserved railway of all.

@AnthonyFurnival Just the Saturday unfortunately as I'm away quite a lot for work this month so couldn't get a longer pass out.

@AnthonyFurnival I'm hoping for GCR at the end of this month then Battlefield in February. I have a trip to London next week and Glasgow the week after for work all by train and hope to get out on an evening while there.

@@yorkshirewanderer6176 No problem, i'm thinking of going back to the SVR for their 1940's event. But i may think of try to go there for other steam galas, like Spring with 72 Fenchurch the Terrier Tank Engine on April. 👍🏻
