Seeing musicians and experts get suggested to listen to the Sonic Frontiers Titan themes and reacting in sheer awe and surprise will never get old to me. One of the coolest things about this game's release.
Also, for a bit of info. Sonic music, even though it might sound weird, WAS ALWAYS like this. You should listen to, apart from the rest of main Frontiers themes, to the 2000s rock Sonic music, mainly by Crush 40
No, it was not always like this. Crush 40’s music is very different from anything we had in Frontiers. Sonic music has never went this hard until now. I’d say the closest to this would be With Me or Infinite and even that’s a stretch.
@@thatrandomgamer6278 nah, I'd say the Infinite's theme is really damn close. Considering Find Your Flame is VERY similar, it even has the og singer of Infinite's theme. That's why Find Your Flame x Infinite's theme mashups sound perfect.
@@vito6197 Mmm, no. Infinite and Find Your Flame do both have Tyler Smyth, that’s true. But they’re not really the same genre of music. Infinite is more like a mix between trap, metal, and a bit of dubstep whereas Find Your Flame is more metalcore/ post-hardcore.
See what a lot of people seem to not know is that Sonic Soundtracks have always gone hard. Now Frontiers may have taken it a step further but Sonic has always been one with Rock Music. One of the reasons why I grew up to love Rock and Metal so much.
Yeah, but one thing I do feel is that stuff like Undefeatable and Break Through It All feels like a very different genre than stuff like Live and Learn or Endless Possibility. I was surprised at the genre shift from the usual Sonic rock!
It’s always funny to me when people react to these songs with “this is Sonic?!” because… yeah. Sonic osts have gone hard for a long time. Let’s not forget that the Shadow the Hedgehog soundtrack and With Me from Sonic and the Black Night exist.
The fact that this soundtrack has pretty much every genre of music you could ever want is just a huge blessing. Metalcore? You got it. Orchestral? You got it. Drum & Bass? You got it. LOFI? YOU BETCHA. This game has all of it.
People out here being surprised by Sonic going hard on music has just made me realize that nobody knows that Sonic is just a bunch of albums disguised as video games.
It's absolutely insulting, that this was not nominated for best soundtrack of the year. I don't mind not winning, I mind not being nominated, and the only reason that happened is because it was released a day before God of War and they didn't play it. This game is having a dlc this year so maybe there is still a chance, I mean why did Genshin Impact, a 2020 game, got nominations in 2022 game awards, that doesn't make sense
Didn't deserve a nomination. Not when the OST is carried purely on the Titan/Vocal themes, some of the Guardian themes, and the occasional great Cyberspace theme. Everything outside of that (Island themes besides Rhea that you'll here more often) is forgettable.
@@espurrseyes42 not when the ost is carried by (list literally everything)? did you expect bangers in the open world exploring too? theres a time and a place
@@Blurro Just because it's the overworld doesn't mean they can't have good, memorable music. Which only applies to Rhea, which you barely spend time on. That's not an excuse, especially for a franchise known for delivering bangers. That ambient, environmental shit doesn't cut it for Sonic.
Sonic is, if nothing else, always surprising. I loved playing this game and going into these badass boss fights only to get chills as the sweetest metalcore kicks in every time. I know it’s a Sonic game but trust me on this, these vocal themes perfectly fit how cool these boss fights are.
Weird how Sonic has tried to be mature and hardcore since 1998 (arguably since his conception in 1991) and only stopped around 2010 yet people outside the fanbase itself associate him with baby humor, Mario-like emotional depth and borderline nonexistent complexity. Sonic's most famous, most beloved and I'd argue most ambiguous and engaging years were 1998-2009 and stuff like Break Through It All were the norm, not just in soundtrack but also narrative, characterization, themes and messaging and supplementary material like the Archie comics. THIS is what Sonic should be known for, what a shame.
Please do every vocal theme from the series, theyre almost all good Btw, frontiers is super good, beat it recently, but I've been playing the challenge modes despite having other games I wanna play, I think I'm gonna replay it next update
It makes me so infinitely happy that sonic frontiers put sonic back on the map and everyone knowing about it. I’ve supported this game to be the one to be finally good and had hopes ever since that 4chan leak and it being rumored the next sonic game was in development after forces and for it to be nearly every single thing I wanted and more it makes me so happy. while games like sonic, pokemon, skyrim and god only knows how many other games they have glitches yes but the one thing all of them nail is the banging music its the one thing thats always consistant
@@Hugo-yz1vb I know... I've been with Sonic for... Ever since childhood. I've never actually heard Doom. But hey... We both know Sonic was always better than Doom. And this track REALLY proves it!

So glad this was mentioned! Such a great track!
The first three bosses in the game have songs with kellin quinn singing, and theyre all bangers. This is the second boss theme
Sonic has always had a fantastic OST, but this is the first time they went straight up metal, and it definitely works
