I love how their solution for “big op dinos killing small players pls make it more fair :(“ is to have big dinos starve to death and relying on killing every prey (even small dinos) to survive, essentially wiping out everything they see in order to survive instead of planing hunts and taking time to fight.
I usually play on free roam with slow met and having long hunting trips is so much fun, I dont get why people love life cycle so much if Im honest.
That hunger rate is not even realistic in dinosaur terms as they couldve survived days on larger preys. Its just “grow to 10.0 in a week but after 3.0 you just play dont starve :)” at this point
ppl like life cycle because free roam encourages doing the least amount of work for the most gain. Watching movies while you are afk and only logging in to revive yourself. Since the big servers with free roam have respawn enabled there is no consequence for death thus it is not a survival game with any stakes. Plus since people just keep growing in these servers the cliques and friend groups really get out of hand where other people have a hard time getting into a game, so what you end up with is the equivalent of dinosaur vr lounge instead of a survival game which is what bob is supposed to be.
Top all that off that independent servers are independent and the donations they receive go to them and the devs do not touch it meaning that people who play on free roam servers are effectively killing the game as the developers struggle to keep it going whole server owners make money off their work. Honestly, I hope the devs get rid of free roam whatever consequences they have to deal with. The devs really need to get control over this community, this game is the closest thing to feudalism in the 21st century.
@@og_finn661 Bro it's just a game. I dont care if people afk or watch movies or if they revive themselves or not. They'll never remove free roam at this stage since the game almost died when they tried it with autorevive.
Should tell a lot if the biggest servers are free roam & autorevive (or at least autorevive with life cycle), idk why people think removing a game mode they hate for some apparent reason is going to make life cycle more popular.
If the devs intended for life cycle to be BOBs one true game mode they shouldve never introducted free roam or it's mechanics, simple as that. But they didn't and now they reap what they sow.
It's just a dinosaur game. Why is the life cycle fanclub so angry at anything that isn't perma death 75x growth starve after 1.5+ lmao.
@@corvid_pest I do find it a bit odd that you complain about lifecycle players not liking free roam, when you're doing the same thing. You said you didn't understand why people liked it, someone explained it to you and you in turn got angry.
Personally I like life cycle because the time it takes to grow on free roam is absolutely ridiculous and boring. I'm not someone who likes to play games for hours and hours at a time, so I cant grow much in free roam.
While I dont think free roam is necessarily killing the game, or that it should be removed, I think its a bit ridiculous to say you dont understand why people like something then get mad when they give you that same energy. Maybe we should ALL just respect what people want to play.

And yes, I don't understand why people love Life Cycle, but I don't go out of my way to harass these players or call all life cycle servers 'trash', like folks do with chill or autorevive servers or call for the removal of the game mode opposite to my prefered one.
Also... where did I say I don't respect people playing life cycle? It's mainly survival folks who lash out at chill or AR players, making fun of their way of enjoying a game which is literally just pixels and numbers.
No need to get heated and demanding the devs to remove chill/AR because it apparently 'kills the game', when the most active servers literally are chill and AR servers.
I dont understand the fun in life cycle but I see that there are some folks playing it, but whatever makes them happy.
It's just childish if LC folks get all worked up when someone says they enjoy chill/AR servers.

We should all respect each other, whether you play life cycle or free roam. It's just a game and people have the right to enjoy whichever gamemode they want.
In my opinion, the issue with free roam is that the growth times are incredibly long. It takes hours and hours just to get to a decent size, let alone get "big". I get why people like free roam though, things are less punishing.
My point is that you should give the energy you want to receive. You shouldn't say you "don't understand why people like life cycle" if you want life cycle players to respect that you play free roam.

@@jordanc.3453 there is rules, this was just during a purge event. This acro is too big to play during normal time because itll starve and now since the gore nerf I can barely play it during purges to as I starve too quickly to fight most people

this proves well, anyone who has dino plus 9.0 and plays every day is using food hack, there's no way it's impossible, since the last update where a new acro was placed, players who have dino plus 9.0 stopped playing, listen to a player died of hungry, why did he die? played every day more than 12 hours 11.0 of trop forgot if maybe the hack wasn't working, it's very funny these players grow up to 11.0 they don't die of hunger it's important this shows the incompetence of the predatory, they can come and say the opposite every player grows up to 8.0 more without purge event this use food hack can come with music they want is the reality of this game

The devs like giving community servers the freedom to decide their own growth cap. This server really should lower it
The problem is that the devs don't like big dinos being the *norm.* They're fully fine with big dinos, but they don't want 90% of the server being kaiju that would make godzilla shit his pants. On officials for example, a truly massive dino is only around like 3.0 and higher, as the official (aka vanilla, or base) experience sees that as the achievement beyond achievements. It's why the achievements relating to growth end at 2.5, as that is the lowest feasible growth you can regularly get before starvation gameplay happens.
In other words ig, community servers turn hard-to-get big dinos into dirt-easy-to-get big dinos
