- I fit and test a new type of temperature gauge that measures metal temperature instead of water temperature. This is a much more accurate way of monitoring engine overheats since it is the metal temp that dictates whether an engine has overheated.
Thanks for doing the review with automotive industry insight. Shall be fitting same to my older vehicles.
Great video thanks mate. Ordering one right now.
I got the twin sensor kit and fitted the second sensor to the automatic transmission. All good. Seeya Rob
Thanks! I'll be getting one of these. My 22yo Forester's radiator just cracked on a very hot day, and I was driving around for I don't know how long with the engine heat gauge on red... And I'm wondering how in hell can there be beeping when a seatbelt is not on, but not for "engine about to melt" ?
Back in the earlier days, they did not have buzzer alerts and because of that many people found themselves with cooked engines. Hang on there is an alert on older cars - the engine stops or runs terrible. ha ha, sorry sick humour. Hope you did not do any damage from that experience. You won't ever get caught again once you fit the engine guard and don't forget to set the alarm set point as there is none set up by default.
